My husband and I have been married for forty one years. We have three sons and daughters in law. We also have five grandchildren. We are Christians and Eddie is a deacon in our church. We love the Lord.
Alice Cansler purchased this cabin in 2013
We purchased this property because of the peace and quiet.
We fell in love with this cabin because of the cabin itself and the awesome view. We have done a lot of remodeling on the cabin, and adding new furniture.
My husband and I have stayed in this same cabin two years in a row. Alice Cansler, the owner, is an absolute sweetheart to talk to. She called to check on us after we got there and make sure the cabin met our expectations. It has a gorgeous view and it is located in a very peaceful area. The cabin is beautiful inside and out. We enjoyed the wrap around deck and the hot tub which is in a private corner where you can't see the neighbors. The pool table inside is nice even though it is a little close to the wall on one side. The owners have been kind enough to supply a short pool cue to remedy that situation. The kitchen has pretty much anything you could need as far as utensils and pots and pans. If you are picky about the quality of kitchen ware, you may want to supply some of these things yourself, but I found everything to work just fine for our needs. The drive up to the cabin is adventurous, and 4 wheel drive is helpful if the roads are slick. Overall, we absolutely love this cabin!! It is such a great little getaway! We will be back for a third year next year!!
The property was all that was advertised and more - welcoming, quiet, peaceful, yet convenient to any thing you need. And I appreciated the little things that added to the warmth and hospitality - the simple fall decorations, the pool balls racked and ready, even a needle and thread kit in the bathroom drawer ready in case of a needed repair. Thank you for the care given to make so many feel at home.
The cabin was everything and more than we anticipated. The cabin was so clean and perfect for a week's stay. The owner's even called to check on us. The view from the bedroom loft is amazing. We enjoyed sitting in the hot tub at night with the awesome view. It felt like we were the only people on the mountain. I loved the feeling of privacy. Also, the back porch is the most relaxing feeling you can experience. There is simply not one bad comment I could provide if I had to. The drive to Pigeon Forge was only 20 mins away. We stayed in Townsend a couple of days and enjoyed the restaurants (The Trailhead steakhouse is awesome). We are looking forward to coming back to this same cabin next year. Even the directions were right on target. Thank you Alice for your sharing your cabin. It truly was delightful !!!
Relaxed is what we felt when we left Windancer. We enjoyed the hot tub after hiking during the day, Drinking coffee in the morning and eating our meals on the porch with the wonderful view. Waking up to the view over the valley was great.
When arriving, do plan for a steep road. You are going up the side of a mountain. The only thing that got us arriving was taking the first left. It is a private drive. Go around the front of the pool. Alice couldn't have been any sweeter if we had any questions.
Thank you for allowing us to stay in your cabin.
I spent hours online looking for a cabin, I feel like I was playing Russian Roulette trying to pick a cabin that was:
1) Private 2) Clean 3) Had a Great location 4) Had great amenities. I found this cabin and the views sold me, but was depending on the reviews to make my final desicion.
As soon as I walked on the porch I said OMG, wow! That view is spectacular! The house was clean, the kind of detailed clean that not only is evrything spotless there was no dust on the fan blades or on top of decorations displayed high. Most importantly, the hot tub was super clean. You have enough privacy to go to the hot tub in your skivvies. You are near other cabins but can't see on the porches. (the leaves are still on that could change). The owner was great and the property is clean and comfortable.
The cabin was better than advertised. Very clean and cozy and has a wonderfull view. Booking and getting into the cabin could not have been easier. Alice was very helpful with local food recommendations and was always quick to reply to any messages. We will be returning to this location many times in the future. Thanks again.
