A renovated Alpine chalet with a luxuriously appointed, self catering apartment with large living room, double bedroom, kitchen and
bathroom. Huge garden with mountain views on all sides.
We had a great stay in Kandersteg, the apartment was very clean and there is everything you need, also for long stay. The photos correspond in fact to the real state of the apartment.
Bill is a perfect host, very kind and also gave us tickets and infos to visit Kandersteg and surroundings.
We will surely come back id we will travel back to Switzerland!
"This is the fourth time in one of the spacious Adams Alpine Eden apartments in Kandersteg and we can thoroughly recommend it for cleanliness, comfort, and facilities. As always Pam & Bill are welcoming hosts, and the large eclectic library of English language books means that we never have to consider bringing our own reading material. Kandersteg is a fine old resort, well serviced by public transport, but quieter than Grindelwald or Lauterbrunnen further east. There is a good mountain transport: 3lifts,and a local bus service which is free for visitors. The town has 3 supermarkets,2 bakeries,2 banks with autotellers,a post office, tourist information center, and various other shops - all within 2-10 minutes of the apartments. There is an excellent outdoor swimming pool only 5mins from the apartment, with seperate diving pool with 1m and 3m spring boards. There are 3 childrens play grounds: one next to the swimming pool, one some way up the valley from the flat, but the best is next to the Oeschiwald up a quiet side road and across a meadow only 10mins from the flat. For those into Klettersteig(via ferrata): Kandersteg is home to the high 350m-high Allemenalp route which is in my experience is probably the best in the alps, with varied sections in a dramatic setting next to a waterfall. The ease of the lift back to the bottom means it can be slipped in as a morning or afternoon trip. The top attraction for us is always the wild Gasteretal or spelt Gasterntal. This is spetactular U shaped glacial trench hidden behind the Chlus gorge at the top of the main valley, accessible by foot or by smal bus. (booking is required for this but Pam or Bill will help with this). The gasteretal is thus far the only place in the Alps where we''ve seen the ostentatious but elusive Lady''s Slipper orchids(Cypripedium calceolus) in the wild, in abundance(if you go specifically, there will be plants in flower any time early to late June). What more can we add: for us Kandersteg is one of the best centers to explore the Bernese apls, and Adams Alpine Eden is definitley the place to stay!"
