Paris Centre Louvre. Renovated apartment.
Ideal for 2 people with 1 or 2 children : a double bed in the bedroom + 1 sofa bed in the living room.
Conveniently located, close to 'Le Palais Royal', the 'Louvre museum' and the 'Saint Eustache' area. Five minutes from wharf of La Seine, Montorgueil area, and the gardens of 'Le Palais Royal', you will be close to the main cultural parisian master pieces.
In a luxury building (haussmann period), the apartment is completely furnished (all brand new). TV and internet (wifi).
Lift until the 5th floor (the apartment is at the 6th floor).
You can rent another apartment (studio) in the same place (announce N° 872917)
This unit is located within a 10-minute walk of the Louvre and is also close to Forum Les Halles (shopping and Metro) and about a 15 min walk from Pompidou Center. There were a number of eating establishments nearby--one of the closest and one of our favorites was the Brasserie de la Bourse. Also conveniently located within a block or so is the grocery store G20, from which we purchased supplies, food/deli items and wine. We stayed in this unit last year and were so delighted with the unit and its location that we returned to the same unit this year. The owner, Philippe, was very accommodating and went out of his way to ensure we had everything we needed. It was very easy to communicate with him via email and he responded very promptly. Valerie, the building supervisor, was very friendly and let us into the apartment. She does not speak English.
The unit is on the top level (7th floor by American count, 6th floor European count). The elevator, which is petite, only goes up to the 6th floor (5th floor European counting), with 1 flight of stairs leading to the top floor. Always press the light switch before you go up the stairs, especially if it is dark, so the lights don’t go out before you reach the top of the stairs. A locked door to the hallway before the apartment door provides added security. The views from the apartment are beautiful—from one window one views the Bourse and Notre Dame, and from another window, one can see the upper portion of the Eiffel Tower. The apartment is 44 sq meters and comfortably accommodates 2 people and maybe a 3rd person—the bed in the bedroom is comfortable and so is the sofa bed in the living room. The bathroom includes a shower. The unit has a small kitchen with dining table, a microwave oven with steam cooking features, 2-burner electric cook top, cooking utensils and dishes, a small refrigerator (no freezer), a small combination washer-dryer unit and an iron. Philippe was good enough to provide an English translation of the operation manual for the washer-dryer. It is so helpful to be able to do laundry at home—we found that unless you are prepared to iron clothes, it is best to just wash and damp dry. Since the unit is on the top floor, the ceiling slopes along some of the outer walls, including in the bedroom and the bathroom; be mindful that you do not hit your head as you get up from bed.
Living here for 4 weeks almost felt like we had our own pied-à-terre without maintenance. Highly recommended!
My wife and I stayed here for 5 days / 5 nights and overall enjoyed our stay. The layout of the apartment is *funky* but mostly that was charming! Because it is on the top floor of the building, the ceiling is the roof and slants at steep angles all over. We ended up hitting our heads, shoulders, and backs multiple times, myself especially (at just over 6 feet tall). While for the most part just something to get used to, it was a problem for me in the bathroom, where I had to contort myself to use the facilities--friendly warning for other tall folks!
The location is perfect, in a lively part of the city surrounded by bustling restaurants and grocery stores. 5-10min walk from the gigantic Les Halles station + mall, and 10-15min from the Louvre and various other landmarks. You can see tons of landmarks from the numerous windows, which was very nice. They were renovating a building across the street when we were there, which was unfortunate, but it didn't mar too many vistas.
We would recommend this--with the above warning for tall people--for the location and experience.
Nice apartment. There will be step climbing involved...will have to take a small lift up and still walk up one flight of steps. Worked out well for us-2 adults and 2 children ages 8 and 13
The apartment was just as described. It is small but met all of our needs and is furnished well to suit the space. The bed is super comfortable! There were 3 of us staying and the pullout in the living space was also very comfortable. It was not a big deal to walk up to the 6th floor from the end of the lift ( lift ends at 5th floor). Having only a little french I was a bit nervous for the check in as the caretaker doesn't speak English but it went smoothly and we figured out what was needed without much trouble. Discovered a lovely area for shops and restaurants behind Les Halle (Montorgueil). Easily walked to the Louvre and one evening walked to the courtyard of the Louvre where you get a great view of the Eiffel Tower at night. Would definitely recommend and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if I ever return to Paris!
Excellent location easy & convenient , beautiful , clean apartment and affordable. Highly recommended.
