The house is separate and comfortable. It has a farm style and it was converted into a hotel, but restructured as a private house. It has stylish furniture. The house is ideally located in a green setting overlooking Versant du Soleil, on a plot with many fenced hectares for horses. The Hohrod village is one of the most charming villages in France, according to the "Guide Vert Michelin" and "Station Verte." There is an exceptional aerial view over the valley of Munster and the ridges of Vosges. Due to its location, Hohrodberg has been ranked by mountain guides as one of the three most beautiful sites of the Vosges. (Source D.N.A. newspaper) 30 min away, you can find the road to the ridges, the wine road with the "Vineyard Pearls" villages, including Eguisheim, classified as the most beautiful village in France in 2013.

Why Andre Wirth chose Colmar area

The house has been our main residence. Due to some development, we have moved to an apartment near our workplace, and opted for renting the house rather selling it because of our attachment to the site.

What makes this cottage unique

Rooms are big and spacious, offering certain warmth, as we have been told. The house has been completely restored and restructured (it was a hotel). It has been tastefully decorated, and it has stylish furniture. Overlooking the South, or on the sunny side, you can enjoy an exceptional and aerial view of the Munster valley, the large ridges of Hautes Vosges, and the Petit Ballon mountain range. The place is exceptionally quiet. The house is surrounded by meadowlands, away from traffic, and it is ideal to rest and revitalise. Game watching (roe deer, foxes, birds, and much more) is possible from the windows of the house. The house, however, is not isolated. (See our photos). Less than an hour away, you can find tourist places, cities, and villages, as well as the heights of Alsace and Vosges.

The cottage is ideally located half way between the high ridges of Hautes Vosges (for mountain walks, mountain biking, and skiing) and the vineyards. You can also discover the Alsace wine route, the Christmas markets, and the main attractions of the region.

Merci beaucoup pour un très agréable séjour

Nous avons passé une très belles semaine avec des amis à Hohrodberg. La description du bien correspondait parfaitement. La maison offre un point de départ idéale pour des excursions vers la "Weinstraße", la Route des Crêtes et dans la vallée de Munster. Merci à André pour la petite surprise et le gentil accueil! Ruhige Silvester mit viel Komfort

Wir waren mit unseren Kindern, Enkelkindern und Hunden über Silvester 16/17 im herrlich gelegenen Haus von M. Wirth. Wir genossen die schönen Sonnenaufgänge und die Lage des Hauses oberhalb des Nebels – den ganzen Tag Sonne, selbst Kaffeetrinken im Freien war möglich. Die geschmackvolle Einrichtung des Hauses mit dem annoncierten Komfort hat uns – mit Ausnahme der renovierungsbedürftigen Dusche im oberen Appartement – überzeugt.

Der anfänglich aufwendige Schriftverkehr ließ uns sehr skeptisch anreisen. Aber M. Wirth hat diese Bedenken mit seiner freundlichen Begrüßung im weihnachtlich geschmückten Haus schnell zerstreut. Es hat sich ausgezahlt, den ausführlichen Erklärungen von M. Wirth zu folgen.

Wir können dieses Haus für ruhige Ferien in der Natur bestens weiterempfehlen.

wunderschönes Haus mit grandiosem Ausblick und hochwertigem, antiken Interieur in ruhiger Lage. Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen und uns vom ersten Moment an Wohl gefühlt.

Nur die beiden Duschen könnten mal an den restlichen Standard angepasst werden, was unseren Urlaub aber nicht beeinträchtigte.

Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder.

Lage ,Ausstattung waren überdurchschnittlich gut .

Sauberkeit waren Top. Sehr gepflegte Ferien Wohnung.

Der Vermieter war sehr nett und man konnte sich mit im gut Unterhalten

Nous avons passé un séjour merveilleux dans une superbe région que nous avons découvert cet été.

Nous avons pu nous ressourcer dans cette magnifique maison où rien ne manquait pour notre confort. J'ai particulièrement apprécié la chambre parentale avec sa superbe salle de bain.La description du bien correspondait parfaitement.De plus vous êtes au calme complet.

Celle ci est bien placé et se trouve au départ de chemins de randonnées vraiment sympa.

Merci encore à Mr Wirth pour son accueil et la surprise dans le frigo en arrivant.Il a su nous conseiller et être à l'écoute.

A renouveler quand nous retournerons dans la région.

The house is 750 meters from Hohrodberg (an annex of the village of Hohrod) with a majestic aerial view of the great of Hautes Vosges mountain chain. Due to its location, Hohrodberg has been ranked by mountain guides as one of the three most beautiful sites of the Vosges. Source: D.N.A. and L’Alsace newspaper. The village is classified as a "Station Verte." It has been quoted in the "Guide Vert Michelin" and the "Villages de Charme de France." The walks, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing (as well as horse riding, remember that the house is surrounded by fields and several hectares fenced for horses) are a few steps away from the house. The site opens the doors to:

- Colmar, classified as the most beautiful city in France in 2013, a city of art and tourism, the Alsace wine capital, and its museums, Unterlinden, Bartholdi, and Eguisheim (Both cities are less than 35 min away by car).

-Strasbourg, the capital of Europe (1 h away), its cathedral, and «La Petite France», the most visited place in Alsace, and the Haut-Koenigsbourg castle (on the road), the second most visited place in Alsace.

- The Alsace wine route, its tasting cellars, and wine celebrations, as well as the gastronomy that is waiting for you, in the cellar of a star-rated restaurant.

- The magic of the Christmas markets in the cities and villages of Colmar, Strasbourg, Kaysersberg, Mulhouse, Egusheim, and Ribeauvillé.

- The cheese route and the famous route of ridges lined with country farms where you can taste farm products, the Marcaire menu, and go to the famous Tourte de la Vallée, the circuit of glacial lakes of Hautes Vosges Lac des Truites, Lac Vert, Fichboetle Lake, Schissrotried Lake, Lac Blanc and Lac Noir. Regarding farms, note that you will find farm products in the same village.

- Munster, 8 km away with its shops, restaurants, pool (summer and winter), interior basin, outdoor areas, toboggans, sauna, hammam, and wave pools, U.V Munster is also the largest stork site in Alsace.

- Gérardmer with its casino, its cinemas, and its lake to practice canoeing, swimming, windsurfing, scuba diving, paddle boat, lake trips on a speedboat, its hotels and restaurants, the ski runs, and Festival International du Film Fantastique. You can also swim in Colmar at "Colmar Beach" fitted with parking, beach, restaurants, and many activities.

- Germany (1 h way) and Europa Park, the second most important theme park in Europe.

-Switzerland (1 h away) with Basel, the art capital, and its mountains over 4,200 metres of altitude.

- Alsace.

- Mulhouse and its museums: the museum of automobile, railway, tapestry, a zoo, etc.

- Ribeauvillé and its casino, its thalassotherapy centre with a SPA, a hotel restaurant, conference halls, Ammerschwihr golf course, the Mémorial du Linge with its museum and its battlefield (World War I), located in the heights of Hohrodberg, 5 min away by car. The Linge is also called the "Alsacien Verdun." As stated on the "Practical Information" pavement, you will find the alpine ski resorts just 30 min away: the Schnepfenried and Chitelet-Hohneck resorts, as well as Lac Blanc with dog or reindeer sledding.
