Description

Photos and Description of this 2 bedroom holiday cabin in Sterling - Bings Landing Cabin

3 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom, 7 Sleeps

Welcome to the world famous Kenai Peninsula. This beautiful log cabin with front porch and view of redoubt volcano is in the heart of the peninsula. Sleeps 7. 2 bedrooms plus loft. 2 bathrooms. Very private setting. Lots of trees on lot. Lots of wildlife around area and property. Moose, bears and eagles frequent the area. Located at the end of a cul-de-sac - there is very little road traffic in the area. The Kenai River is across road. Access to the river is nearby at Bings Landing State Park (best fishing hole on the river) also known as the Naptowne Rapids. In this area you can fish for salmon and trout most of the summer. Lots of room to fish and within walking distance to the town of Sterling. Sterling is 10 miles north of Soldotna and 2.5 hours south of Anchorage. Sterling is the heart of the peninsula. Close to Kenai, Seward and Homer. In Soldotna you can find lots of stores and restaurants to enjoy.

This beautiful cabin has a gas fireplace, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, log beds and furniture. All linens supplied. Plenty of parking.

Kenai cabin is a great place to stay

  • 5 of 5

Our family has used this property 2 consecutive years and have been extremely happy with the accommodations. It is located on a quiet street - but you can hear the rapids of the river. Beds and linens are of high quality. Lots of cooking utensils. Full size range and refrigerator. Nearby property manager to assist if problems arise. Will definitely stay here again.

Awesome Cabin and Awesome Location

  • 5 of 5

Loved this place when we first drove up to it but the best was yet to come. When we went inside it was already providing us with a great Alaskan experience. Love this cabin inside and out.

Brian provided with help and answered questions promptly. Have not met him in person but already consider him a friend that I will be talking to year after year as we return.

Wish we could keep this place a secret but I know Brian wants to share it with others.

Thank You for sharing it with us!

Fantastic

  • 5 of 5

This is a really nice home. It was like we were all by our selves. Close enough to the river you can hear it. Heard nothing from the homes near us. Kitchen has everything we needed. Plenty of room for those rainy days. Used the gas fireplace a couple of times.

Niki met us when we got there. She gave us her #, she was lots of help.

It was just a great stay. I would definetly stay there again.

The down staire bedroom did not have blinds. No big deal for privacy, but sun light was a problem. So we just put stuff in the windows to block out the son. Thanks a bunch Brian really nice place.

Remote feeling, but has all you need to "experience Alaska" with style

  • 5 of 5

First, many thanks to the owner for opening a couple of days early for us. He was quick with our pre-stay correspondence, and gave us all the information we needed to make our stay wonderful.

Our stay began with the property managers being right there to show us around and make us feel welcome. (Yes, they had a gun strapped around their shoulder...bears in the area.) The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, utensils, silverware and even basic cooking staples - spices, oils, etc... A nice touch was the basket in each bathroom that had was stocked with toiletreis and the note, "In case you forgot something." After that initial visit with the property managers, they left us alone. (They live in the "neighborhood" and were just a quick cell phone call away.) There is no TV, internet, and cell service was touchy, but that's Alaska!

When fish are in the Kenai, this would be a great home base!

Nice cabin and convenient to Kenai river

  • 5 of 5

Enjoyed a week at this cabin. Sleeping arrangement was very good - full bath upstairs and downstairs. Kitchen utensils were more than adequate. Only downside was small kitchen table. Front porch was nice to have because of frequent rain.

Beautiful Cabin with a Beautiful Setting

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was an ideal vacation rental for our families stay in the Kenai Peninsula. It's centrally located so it was easy to drive to Homer, Sterling, the Russian Falls (where the salmon are running at the end of August), Whittier (for a glacier tour), Exit Glacier (hiking), etc. We used this as a home base for our vacation since we were planning on doing a lot of hiking and site seeing.

It was a good sized two bedrooms that had two queen beds and two bathrooms. There was a loft with two twin beds. The upstairs bedrooms also has a twin bed so this cabin could sleep 7 people.

The cabin inside is beautiful. It is very cozy with all modern conveniences. The kitchen is fully equipped so it made it easy to prepare meals. The amenities included all dishware, pots and pans, kitchen dish soap, etc (and spices, cooking oil). We caught a salmon from the Kenai river and cooked it at the cabin. Nothing compares to fresh salmon. We also found some blue berry bushes in Homer and we were able to make homemade pancakes with those fresh blue berries - yummy.

The cabin is apprxomately 12 miles to Soldotna and there are some restaurants there (although the cabin is very well equipped to cook meals) and a large Fred Meyer grocery/dept store with everything you need.

There is a gas stove that heats the entire cabin. And I loved the front porch - it was very cozy. The cabin is also very secluded so you really don't see any of the neighbors.

For the price we paid - it was well worth the rental and our family would stay there again.
