Villa Bianca is a recently restored property which has a beautiful setting among olive trees, on a one acre plot, only 3km from the tiny city of San Vito dei Normanni. The villa boasts a large private swimming pool 6m x 14m., available from 1st May to 20th October. The spacious lounge has a pellet stove installed, in addition to gas central heating. Low season rentals are more than welcome. The property has modern facilities such as a spacious kitchen and bathrooms. The villa has air conditioning. The cool basement bedroom has an en suite shower room. The lovely sandy beaches of Specchiola and Torre Guaceto are only 8 km (5 miles) down the road for those who prefer an occasional change of swimming pool scenery. There is a large patio area with a barbecue.
The villa is looked after by Filomena who will meet you at the villa on your arrival. She also looks after cleaning and linen and prepares a welcome pack for you.
Bicycle Hire can be arranged for up to 4 people.
Restaurants: These are in the town such as The Vulcano which has wide choice of menu and does take-away pizzas. We recommend Copullarosso and La Loggia in Caravigno. There are many others in Ostuni which has become very fashionable. Mattarello in San Vito sells many pastas and prepares hot take away Lasagnes and Cannallonis.
We also recommend The Mirage in Santa Sabina.
We are retired teachers living near Cannock Chase in Staffordshire.
Brian and Wendy Bishop purchased this villa in 2006
Saw Villa Bianca in August 2005 when we came on holiday to Costa Merlata near Ostuni, and like location next to the olive grove next door.
Villa Bianca is situated on the coastal side of San Vito dei Normanni, making it convenient for the beach or shopping. It is only 500 metres from the main road between San Vito and Specchiolla by the sea and the motorway along the coast, yet in a very peaceful location.
We stayed for 9 days in late September/early October so a bit off-season. The villa lived up to our high expectations based on the photos and was easily big enough for the six adults in our party. Inner living areas were also very comfortable and the kitchen had everything we might have wanted.
The pool was fantastic and the only downside to it was that it possibly stopped us exploring more of Puglia. Maybe we were lucky with the weather but it was mid-20s and bright sunshine for the vast majority of the time so ideal for hanging around the pool.
San Vito isn't the most inspiring of places but it had its charms. Local restaurants were good although without too many frills - we found it very cheap to eat/drink out. We enjoyed visiting Ostuni and seeing the trullis dotted around everywhere although maybe parts of Alberobello were maybe too disneyfied for our tastes. Some of our group visited Monopoli, Poligano and Martina Franca and they're all worth a visit. The seaside resorts close to the villa were all end-of-season, not surprising in view of the time of year.
Vito was on-hand to answer any questions, spoke my native English better than I do but wasn't at all intrusive. He also quickly sorted out a problem we had with the wifi, other than that everything went without a hitch.
Summing up, the arrangements for the rental were handled very smoothly by Brian/Wendy and the deposit returned promptly as agreed. We all felt that Villa Bianca is without doubt one of the best villas we've stayed at on numerous holidays abroad.
Villa Bianca is well situated to visit the region, at only 25 km from Brindisi airport. The swimming pool is spacious and the kitchen is well equipped. Two bedrooms have airco, a third bedroom is situated in the cellar. We really had a good time.
We really enjoyed our stay here ,our priority is always a large well appointed pool and surrounds and Villa Bianca certainly fitted the bill.
This villa is perfectly placed to explore most of Puglia.
It was most reassuring to know that we could contact Vito if needed and Philomena came to change linen as requested half way through our stay .The owners Wendy and Brian have been really helpful and easy to contact.
LOVELY SPOT IN THE OLIVE GROVE, GREAT POOL AND KITCHEN NEXT TO IT MADE IT FUN & EASY AT LUNCHTIMES
A GOOD POSITION TO VISIT FESTIVALS AND TOWNS LIKE OSTUNI AND BEACHES. WE ALL HAD A LOVELY TIME AND WOULD GO AGAIN. VITO & FILOMENIA VERY FRIENDLY & HELPFUL EM, KATE & JOHN
We enjoyed our visit in this beautyful House. The Pool is really fantastic, but the House is also Great. You find everything you need and the housekeeper was very helpful and friendly all the time. If we Return in the future we will Rent this House again.
Dear Wendy and Brian,
We have now returned to Norway after two wonderful weeks in your villa. The villa, with the big pool, was a very pleasant experience. We really loved that the kitchen had direct access to the pool area. The bedrooms were nice, and the living room was great – although we did not use it too much due to the warm weather. The villa was good equipped and we did not miss any items.
Vito was very helpful and was checking that everything was Ok every 2-3 day. Chris/Norman came after one week and changed the linen and towels. All very nice people.
We visited Lecce on probably the hottest day, nice city if you like old buildings (ask Vito for where to park the car). Ostuni was also nice and Alberobello with the Trulli house is worth using time on. We also had a nice day in the zoo/amusement park in Fasano. The rest of the time we just enjoyed the pool and had very relaxing days!
All in all – a very pleasant stay and we really had a wonderful time in Italy. And we can of course very much recommend the villa!
San Vito dei Normanni is an all year round local town which is a short driving distance from other famous towns such as Carovigno and Ostuni - the White City, and Alberobello famous for its trullis. San Vito has numerous lovely restaurants specializing in both fish and meat (you will find details on how to reach these in your information brochure in the villa. The town of Fasano, which is 45 minutes drive, provides golfing amenities as well as a family fun park zoo safari which is a family day out not to be missed!! Lecce , 'Florence of the south', is also 45 minutes drive. From here the rest of the Salentine peninsula is easily accessible, from the rocky east coast round to Santa Maria Leucca at the end round to the sandy beaches of the west coast and the ancient town of Gallipoli.
A very pretty and popular beach is at Pantanagiani, half way between Specchiolla and Torre San Sabena with parking next to the beach, bars and cafes.
