Why Lia chose Manhattan
The best thing about our neighborhood is being within walking distance of so many incredible sites! We chose the Upper East Side because it is leafy, romantic, and genteel, with peaceful streets and historic architecture. It couldn't be a better place to hang your hat! The location is also perfect for its proximity to Central Park, fantastic shopping and NY Culture. The House is within walking distance of Central Park, Fifth Avenue, Rockefeller Center, Carnegie Hall, boutiques, museums & galleries, New York’s finest department stores, top restaurants and business districts. In addition, for everyday convenience, we have barbershops, supermarkets, gourmet stores, pharmacies, dry cleaning & shoe repair shops just around the corner. Access to seven subway lines are one or to blocks away. Museums within walking distance include the Metropolitan Museum of Art, MoMA, Frick Collection, and the Asia Society. Also nearby is the Society of Illustrators. Shopping Excellence: Lauren, Versace, Barney's, Chanel, Hermes, Prada, Burberrys, Bergdorf Goodman and the like are all nearby.

This apartment is very well located between two important Avenues. It`s tastefully decorated and charming. Although the kitchen is small, It´s fully-fitted. The bathroom and bedrooms are very confortable, as well.
The only drawback I could mention is the fact that it´s located on the fourth floor and the stairs are marrow and steep. But once you reach the 4th floor, you find yourself in a clean , pleasant and very cosy apartment which makes your way up, absolutely worth it. !!
Great for family of 5
My family of 5 stayed here and it was perfect. Super close to Central Park, close to subway and great little places to eat right by if you choose. We were on the 6th floor...I'm not sure if that made a difference, but it was quiet. So good for sleeping in as well. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
Great Place to Stay in Manhattan
My husband, son and I had a very nice and comfortable stay at the Lexington Suite. Great value for a very expensive neighborhood! The only negative was the bamboo window shades in the front room that did not block the early morning sun. I would recommend installing sun-blocking shades, especially, on the window across from the bed. We will surely recommend you to our friends and relatives visiting NYC.
Great Location and Charm
Our family stayed for six nights in early March and had a really wonderful time! The location is excellent - fairly quiet for the city, subway access is close by, and there are two great little grocery stores around the block. We felt like real residents of NYC! We stayed in the Madison Suite. The beds were comfortable, the kitchenette was perfect for our needs (breakfast and snacks), and the view was great. The staff was unobtrusive but friendly and accessible. When I had a question, I texted a manager and she got right back to me. The only minor drawback for me in staying at this charming old house was the water pressure. Sometimes the shower would divert back to the tub faucet while showering - I think it was when too many users in other units were showering at the same time? Maybe installing a different kind of shower diverter would fix this? It only happened a few times in the six nights we were there, if it had happened more often I would have contacted a manager. Considering it's a very old house, for the price, charm, and location, I considered it a minor issue. I would stay there again for sure!
We are glad to hear that this guest enjoyed their stay with us and appreciate positive comments.
We're so sorry there was an issue with the shower. As this guest was arriving, we learned the same day when cleaning and going over the suite that the prior guest wrenched the shower knob the wrong way, which in turn cracked an internal diverter of the shower body mechanicals. We immediately ordered a repalcement diverter which arrived a day or two after this guest left. We tested the shower that same day and it worked reasonably well but not perfectly. We did not hear from the guest during their stay so we thought everything was o.k. There were a couple of "duct tape" type fixes we could have done to temporarily rectify the situation but as mentioned we didn't know it was neccessary. The part subsequently arrived and everything has been working fine since then.
Pleasant Short Stay
We would like to have stayed longer. The location is excellent. We came to enjoy theater and art with our college-age son and daughter. The suite on the top floor was cute and quiet. It had enough space and privacy to relax as if at home. The water pressure and temperature were good six floors up. The queen beds were very comfortable. Even with a skinny soprano in it, though, the twin mattress in the smallest room was saggy. Red wine with after-theater conversation is one of the things prohibited in a multi-page policy statement that one receives after making a reservation. It would have been helpful to have a brief list of the rules earlier. Making a simple breakfast in the galley kitchen shouldn't have been a problem, but the old gas range does not have a working igniter.
Thank you for your positive review! We are glad to hear you enjoyed your stay. We wanted to address a few of your comments. In regard to our lengthy written policies, we try to communicate with our guests as much as possible throughout the entire booking process, as we find that clarity regarding our establishment helps manage expectations and to ensure a smoother, more relaxing stay. We apologize if it seems too lengthy; however, again, we feel it important for guests to know what to expect before arriving here. The red wine policy is included on our list of general policies on our website. We also link to this page on all our email communications. In regard to the issue you brought up with the stove, it just requires manual ignition. We supply extended automatic lighters which are simple to use. These are located in the room. We are sorry that you didn't call or talk to us, as we are always happy to explain how to use it and assist if needed. In regard to the small mattress, each of our suites has different type mattresses and we have never had any comments about the comfort of the small bed or any of the beds in the Suite. Often times its just a matter of personal preference rather than a defect in the mattress. But we will certainly make sure that there is no issue with it. Once again, we are happy to hear you enjoyed your stay, and thank you very much for your positive rating and helpful input!
All the Best,

Celebrity sightings and Gossip Girl shoots may be regular occurrences around the Upper East Side, but the neighborhood's real appeal emerges from its refined character. Home to some of the City's finest museums, restaurants and shops, as well as the stately mansions and statuesque apartment houses where New York's elite have lived for generations, the Upper East Side exudes elegance on every block. When hunger strikes, you can choose from everything from down-home diners to posh restaurants to some of the City's most renowned Japanese sushi spots.
