About this property

Typical charming villa surrounded by nature and old trees

It’s a charming peculiar villa surrounded by the ancient trees of the Etna Park.
It’s located 500 meters away from Milo, a small village at the foot of the mountain, rich in tradition and beauty, near our wonderful volcano and even from the sea; It is a villa of the early '900, surrounded by great centenary chestnut trees and offers its guests the opportunity to enjoy every comfort.
Don Michelino Etna House is a place where you can feel loved; it is a house full of memories that make it unique and comfortable.
The rooms are big with high ceilings; furnishings are solid and have the same style of the villa.
A big hall, a lounge and dining room, a modern kitchen equipped with both traditional and microwave oven, fridge and freezer compose the villa.
The old Sicilian style wood stove makes this house unique.
The sleeping area comprehends two single bedrooms and tree double bedrooms, one with private bathroom and another with two single beds.
The house has two other bathrooms equipped with shower and washing machine.
You can enjoy a great view of the port of Riposto and the morning sunlight floods in the rooms through the large windows.

Surrounded by nature and far away from the noise, exteriors are differently characterized and usable for lunch, you can also enjoy the barbecue area.
Everyone can find a place to read, write or relax.
The main façade features a furnished, sunny terrace, with a magnificent view; in the evening, you can admire the starry sky and listen the silence of nature.
The villa is suitable for children of all ages, it is a place where you can experience a great number of outdoor games and enjoy the pool.
The private swimming pool is open from 1 June to 15 September.
We take care of our younger guests and we can make available all comforts they need; toys, cots, high chairs, strollers, baby carriers.... and much more.

Beautiful Villa, high recommend
We enjoyed our stay at the Villa, amazing views and so peaceful. There is something for everyone, my girls played in the gigantic pool and played a few games of ping pong while I read a book in a hammock under the trees! The villa itself is spacious and spotless! The rooms are large with comfy beds and authentic with beautiful Sicilian tiles and furniture. You do need to hire a car to explore the area such as Mt Etna, Taormina and Syracuse. Cristina, the owner was always at hand to answer any queries. I would highly recommend this villa and we look forward to coming back again!

Beautiful property, but somewhat lacking.......
Beautiful house, inside and out, including a fascinating original kitchen, beautiful garden and surroundings, but.... ...seriously lacking in the basic home comforts expected for this price. Arriving in the evening, and delayed an hour at the car rental desk, we arrived in the village in the dark. It turned out we'd been given two wrong phone numbers so it's lucky we had email facility or we actually may not have ever found it, let alone been met with the keys! No welcome pack of any sort, not a morsel of bread and cheese or cheap bottle of wine as so often is left to welcome you in a self-catering property. Thankfully we had bought a slice of pizza at the airport so it was cold pizza and tap water for dinner the first night. Beautiful beds but made of metal so they clanged every time you turned over...and mattresses like concrete! A firm mattress is one thing but this was something else entirely. We so needed sleep but some nights just searched for a comfortable place to lay, even curling up on the sofa. Sadly no warm blankets to help with that, just cotton throws. The blankets may have been locked up in one of the many locked units of furniture. The ill-equipped 'modern' kitchen lacked a kettle, long glasses for long cool drinks, day-to-day kitchen knives for cutting up salad stuff etc (there was just a break knife). Was this all locked away too?! Goodness knows how a couple of families would cope there. Temperamental gas hob and temperamental hot water for washing up (remember, no kettle to help and no dishwasher either) and who wants to struggle with washing up when on holiday? We had asked for wifi but this had to be brought along later, along with a couple of kitchen knives. The temperamental hot water meant it sometimes took an hour to run a vaguely warm bath, which we then topped up with pans of water boiled on the stove and carried down the corridor. One shower unit had such flimsy doors that leaked that we abandoned it and used the other. One toilet cistern wouldn't stop filling so ditto with that. No house information folder with useful information and instructions. But there were several bins with instructions about daily recycling and rubbish (hence there was the sad sight of rubbish at the side of all the roads every day of the week). The family tried to be helpful each time we contacted them, but we shouldn't have had to contact them daily! A tad disappointing for a fairly expensive property.

Wonderful stay in Milo
My family and friends had a perfect week in this superb house. If you're looking for a place out of time, with splendid early 20th-century Italian architecture in a huge estate planted with chestnut and other fruit trees, this is the house for you. It's a great place to live. We were there during a heatwave, and enjoyed the coolness in the evenings (and the pool during the day). And our host was absolutely adorable, responding immediately and in great detail to all our questions and requests about the area. Just perfect!

We are two sisters, Cristina and Giovanna, we grew up in nature, we love and respect it; It has been a few years we improve this family property, trying to enhance its beauty and hospitality.

Why they chose this property

Our Family purchased the Villa, and the field that surrounds it, over 100 years ago,... we decided to call it "Don Michelino Etna House" in honor of great-grandfather Michele who rebuilt the main body in 1932.
We have always considered this magical place; when we were young, we experienced a great number of games and adventures; this place transmits us a serenity and joy of life.
Surrounded by nature and far away from the noise, a large flowered garden rings the building.
We would like our guests to live the unique experience of a typical Sicilian house, characterized by its decorated concrete floors and stylish furnishings.... which make each room precious.

What makes this property unique

Don Michelino Etna House is a place where you immediately feel comfortable; it is a house full of memories that make it unique.
A place where a child can experience magical adventures.
The villa is surrounded by centuries-old chestnut trees and a hazel grove, various fruit trees and a small vineyard.
