Breathtaking Beach Front Home Minutes From Historic St Augustine & Restaurants

Bedrooms 3
Space 2,300 sq ft
Property type house
Minimum Stay 4 - 5 nights

About the property

Beach front - 3 floors, 1 king, 1 queen, 2 twins, 1 pullout, 3 baths

Peaceful and serene on the edge of the beautiful sea, Casa Pelicanos Beach House's fabulous location allows you to enjoy endless ocean views from the windows and doors and its sprawling balcony space. Just a few steps down your private beach boardwalk and you are on the sand. A short 10 minute drive from historic Saint Augustine, and only five minutes to Vilano Beach with a full service Publix and several great restaurants. Or if you don't want to drive, just walk 1/4 mile up the beach to the Reef restaurant or across the street to Cap's on the intercoastal waterway.

This 3-bed, 3-bathroom beach house for up to 8 guests is a perfect family home. Ideal for a group or two families traveling together, Casa Pelicanos has a separate guest suite on its ground floor. It features its own kitchenette, private living area with its own 50” HDTV (and BluRay/DVD players) and a comfy queen bed for two. Whether two people in your group like to sleep late, or you have older parents with a slightly different itinerary, this is a fantastic two-for-one vacation rental.

Upstairs, the living room is on the second level (so you get even better ocean views) and gleaming hardwood floors immediately show off just how clean you'll find the rest of the property. An eye-pleasing palette of white beach-rattan furniture matches the bright, white sand just outside. Soaring ceilings have hard-working fans. Cozy papasan swivel chairs are the sweet spot to enjoy all your vacation reading, with your tanned feet tucked beneath you. Not much of a reader? There's of course free wireless Internet throughout, and another 50" HDTV.

This is also where the dining area and kitchen is. The kitchen is a large gourmet kitchen with up close ocean view, enclosed laundry, and walk-in pantry - stocked with all the appliances, cooking equipment, silverware, plates, dishes, cups etc that you'll ever need. A breakfast bar seats five, just above a huge stretch of kitchen countertop. The U-shaped kitchen has your workflow in perfect hand: just remember to glance up at the view as you move easily between fridge, oven and dishwasher. A washer and dryer are also included (we're guessing you'll use a lot of beach towels and we've stocked those for you too)

The second floor also features a bedroom with two twin beds, with a lovely blue shell motif, and another bathroom with shower.

A wraparound deck and 40 feet of windows looking right at the beach will mesmerize you. Outside on the main deck there are sturdy yet comfortable patio furniture, an outside dining table and barbeque for cooking the fresh fish from the ocean fish you can catch yourself right in back of the house on the beach or buy locally.

Upstairs, the master bedroom continues the soothing beach palette. On the third floor you get an even better view of the ocean below. A private balcony gives you a sunrise all to yourself (or you might lazily enjoy it through the window from bed). Its own en suite bathroom provides privacy as well as a jacuzzi tub, twin sinks, toilet and shower.

All together the three bedrooms have a king bed, queen and two twins (plus an extra sleeper sofa should you need it).

Casa Pelicanos is on a quiet stretch of the scenic highway A1A so you can head north up the gorgeous coast to Jacksonville, Ponte Vedra or south to St. Augustine, charming Flagler Beach and onward to popular Daytona. But you won't find a better beach anywhere. Beach toys and beach towels are supplied. Just bring your sunscreen and enjoy!

All amenities and nice vacation-extras are in an easy 2-mile radius of home, including coffee shops, local parks and groceries. Need to have your cake and eat it too? It's just 104 miles to Disney World. You can get up, enjoy the ocean sunrise, have a family breakfast and still make it to Orlando before Magic Kingdom opens.

Your time at Casa Pelicanos promises to be a vacation of incomparable quality.

About Kelly Evans

I am a newbie vacation home renter. We are so happy to have this home, and look forward to sharing it with others.

Kelly Evans purchased this house in 2014

Why Kelly Evans chose South Ponte Vedra Beach

Our dream for many years was to have a beach house, and we scoured the world to find exactly the right one in just the right spot. This is it!

What makes this house unique

Saint Augustine is a wonderful place. The oldest city in North America, it's one of the few places in the US you can feel something like the old Europe vibe.

Walking right out of the house on to the beach is so cool...it really sets the bar high for beach experiences!

You can surf or fish directly in front of the house.

Absolutely beautiful place to stay! The sunrises were beautiful and we will miss seeing them.

  • 5 of 5

This home is well stocked with all paper goods and any needed kitchen items. Very comfortable and convenient to St Augustine attractions and restaurants. Walk the beach and find beautiful sea shells. We saw dolphins playing in front of the house and pelicans flying by regularly. The owner, Kelly Evans is attentive to any needs that come up. All in all, we all agreed, six of us retirees, that it was a vacation to remember and come back to!!!

On the beach!

  • 3 of 5

Great location right on the beach and we commend the owners for the extraordinary effort to restore beach access!! The house was well stocked with all we needed to make this our home for two weeks, utilizing all three bedrooms, both levels of decks overlooking the ocean, and ample living areas. The damage from last years storm to the beach, seawalls and some beachfront houses was more than we expected however: even with continuing construction on seawalls at this house and surrounding houses is was a minor issue & we had a great time! The comfort of the furnishings could use some attention as we all agreed that updating to the living level furnishing is needed as comfort was not up to expectations. Also, upon arrival the strong scent of a cleaning material lingered for a couple of days.

When the seawall and front area is finished and if some upgrading of furnishings is done then this great location will be a 5 star.

Owner's Response: Sorry the seawall construction was still ongoing when you arrived, it was supposed to finish in Nov! Having survived two hurricanes, there was a lot to do. But we were glad we got the beach stairs up for you and the wall itself is now done. This is truly a beach house and so we have furnished it with matching sets of rattan furniture throughout. We didn't want to ruin the theme with Old English stuffed armchairs, but we added a large contemporary sofa with two reclining seats and of course all the electronics are top notch - in fact we delivered and installed a brand new 60in 4K TV while you were there. Thanks for the tip about the disinfectant smell. We've told the cleaning service and asked them to switch products.

Owner's Response: Thank you William. We're glad you had a great time. And thank you for being understanding about hurricane recovery efforts. We will post pictures of the new ocean front back yard as it gets completed, and develops.

Casa Pelicanos was the perfect beach house for our multi-generational family. We loved it!!

  • 5 of 5

We want to thank Kelly for providing such an amazing beach house in the beautiful St. Augustine area.

We were having a family reunion in the area and the layout of Casa Pelicanos was perfect.

Grandma/Grandpa stayed downstairs in the more private area giving them peace and privacy when needed and the opportunity to just come up the stairs for everyone to be together.

The top floor master bedroom and loft was ideal for my wife and I (in the bedroom) and two kids (in the loft). The private balcony up top was fantastic to watch the sunrise.

My brother stayed in the bedroom on the main floor and it was perfect for him.

We had more family (cousins, uncles etc) staying at a larger house on the beach like 8 houses down and our house was certainly the nicer of the two (ours cost much less, albeit it slept fewer).

Casa Pelicanos had everything we needed including beach towels, chairs, beach toys, kitchen necessities. The only thing we had to shop for was our food and drink.

Kelly was nice enough to text us during our stay to make sure everything was satisfactory as well as he has his number posted in the house to contact him with questions/concerns.

Our concerns of the damage from the 2016 hurricane were unnecessary as the house was perfect, and all businesses were up and running. The only thing noticeable in the area were a few houses along the beach that did have damage further in town and the fact that much of the dunes and original beach stairs were gone. Casa Pelicanos and neighbors had a new staircase built to access the beach so it was a non-issue. I understand in the future a new seawall and backyard might be built which would be even nicer.

The beach area was practically our own and the waves were perfect to boogie board and body surf on. The kids loved looking for crabs scamper on the beach at night with flashlights.

All in all, a big 5-stars for our experience here. Thank you Kelly for a wonderful stay!!

Majestic beachfront home close to everything in St. Augustine

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful vacation for 8 people (3 different family units). The property was amazing with gorgeous ocean views from every level in this three story home. Evidence of damage from hurricane Matthew last October were minimal to none. Each bedroom had its own bathroom and each was charmingly decorated. We loved the fact that their were, in essence, 2 master bedrooms. We loved the abundant supply of towels, linens, all paper products, pillows, laundry detergent, soap, cleaning supplies (we had three children and needed the supplies), puzzles, books, beach chairs, and toys. The kitchen was well equipped. The washer and dryer were state of the art and able to handle all of our towels, clothes, and swimming suits. The walk to the beach was very short, just down one set of stairs and you were on the beach. We were amazed at the generous amount of very functional and practical items in the house. Every need was met. We have used other VRBO rentals and have never been more satisfied with the description on the ad matching (and over matching) the actual property. The owner Kelly was a pleasure to work with to ensure we had a fabulous vacation.

The house is so close to great restaurants, Publix grocery store, and St. Augustine and all of the historical sites. Perfect location, perfect home!

The house is located right on the beach on a narrow strip of land dividing the ocean from the Intercoastal waterway. Flights of pelicans cruise the beach, which is rich in seashells, but soft enough for the tenderest of bare feet. You'll love to watch the beach change from high to low tide, revealing sand bars and dynamic water channels. A short walk down the beach brings you to The Reef restaurant for that fresh fish lunch or dinner, or after a short stroll down the street you'll arrive at Cap's restaurant on the Intercoastal - a local favorite.

Vilano Beach is just a five minute drive, with its full service Publix grocery store, an excellent pizza place, and small shops. The little village of Vilano also sports excellent restaurants.

If you drive ten more minutes south, you'll be in the old town of St Augustine, the oldest town in North America. You can spend many a happy day in the quaint town and fort, with its cafes, shops, art galleries, and restaurants. Or visit some of the fun attractions in the area like the Fountain of Youth, Ripley's Believe it or Not museum, and an alligator farm where you can zip lines over the gators.

This is truly one of the best, most relaxed places on Earth.
