Summer, Spring, Fall or Winter, there is always something fun to do here at Kingston Lake and why not do it at our peaceful, private open concept suite. Come and bring your boat, canoe or kayak (we have one available for use). Fishing is dynamite (summer and winter). In season, we can give you a sunset cruise when we are available. You can also just sit, relax and enjoy nature.

Your suite has everything one would need, full kitchen, a beautiful bed, plus pull-out queen sleeper, an additional folded bed with Italian mattress, dining room, office area, fireplace, TV with cable, free wifi, full size closets, laundry, private patio.

Picturesque and nearby shopping includes Newburyport, Portsmouth, Exeter, the outlets at Kittery, and Boston. Other activities are nearby vineyards, hiking trails, apple picking, leaf peeping, the beautiful Atlantic Ocean, enchanting New England towns and endless activities both recreational and educational.

Tranquility on the lake

  • 5 of 5

I would rename the lakeside wooded retreat Tranquility! It was very peaceful, serene and beautiful! We had a wonderful welcome from Nancy & Dan complete with a bottle of wine to celebrate our 30th anniversary! We enjoyed a kayak trip across the lake and a great sunset tour courtesy of Nancy & Dan. Enjoyed meeting their great dog Beckett also! It was only a short ride over to Portsmouth. We would definately stay again and would plan our trip upon the availability of their cottage which was adorable with a wonderful porch overlooking the lake!

Exceeded my expectations!

  • 5 of 5

From the moment I arrived, I felt relaxed and "at home". Nancy made sure I had everything I needed, and showed me the "lay of the land". The furnishings were comfortable, and there was plenty of room for 3 adults. We all enjoyed the patio area, as well as sitting by the lake (which I did EVERY morning and afternoon!) If I make it back to NH, I hope I have the opportunity to stay here again! OHHHH, one of the highlights was the evening boat ride. I think Dan and Nancy did a fabulous job of ordering one of the most beautiful sunsets I've ever seen. Simply stunning!

A Great Mini Vacation

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I feel so lucky that we found Dan and Nancy’s Lakeside Wooded Retreat. Their home is nestled in a wooden area not far from Rte 125 and Rte 111.

From the moment Nancy took us down to their apartment I was thrilled. Nancy and Dan utilized their space so well. Once we unpacked we settled in so quickly. There were plenty of drawers and closet space for our clothes. I always enjoy having a place for my personal items next to the bed and in the bathroom. We really appreciated their attention to detail. In the morning we couldn’t wait to make our coffee and have the pleasure of looking at the lake. It didn’t take us long to relax while we enjoyed the lake atmosphere sounds.

We had plans for most of our weekend but we decided to take the kayak out to explore the rest of the lake. The kayak was right by the water edge so it was so easy to put in the water. We are so happy we took the time to explore the lake.

Thank you Nancy for recommending the Kume Sushi Restaurant in Epping. It was so delicious we are still talking about it.

Owner's Response: Dear Karen and Frank: Thank you for your thoughtful and lovely review. What we hope is that people feel that this is their home away from home. You both made us feel delighted with your love of the space and the restaurant; we do enjoy seeing people be so happy. It was interesting to hear some of the history of the area from former Kingston folks too. Sincerely, Nancy and Dan

A wonderful place to get away from it all.

  • 5 of 5

Perhaps I should first state the irony that had I read the property description more carefully, i never would have had the pleasure of staying there. When we travel, we rent houses. Why? Because as urban apartment house dwellers, we look forward to our solitude. That being said, although the suite is physically in their home (lower level), we had a wonderful time. We had our privacy - our own little beach, and sliding doors to a rear patio for dining. The suite itself is modern and has all of the amenities - and I mean all. The photos on the site are accurate. From the bottle of wine that greeted our arrival, to the sunset cruise we were invited to go on, it was a perfect get away. I would not hesitate to recommend this little haven to anyone. Our hosts fell over themselves to make sure we enjoyed our stay. I only wish we could have stayed longer.

Owner's Response: Brett: Your entry in our Guest Book made my day. I even read it to my Mother! I am delighted you two were so happy since you were celebrating Sveta's birthday. Your entry made me laugh when you said you would have to physically put her in the car to leave! Thank you for taking the time to do that for us. Hope we will see you again!

Beautiful getaway spot!

  • 5 of 5

Nancy and Dan's rental was a perfect location for our stay. Nancy met us when we arrived to show us around the rental and the outdoor space and she was welcoming and sweet. The apartment is clean and spacious and the views of the lake are unbeatable. We will absolutely be back to stay again and would definitely recommend this location! :)
