Guestbook comments from the owner

It's always fun to have guests who enjoy and respect the property, and it's very nice to hear that their stay created a wonderful memory. Leaving a nice bottle of wine with a thank you note was first!

Labor day weekend relaxation!

  • 5 of 5

I stayed at Joan's beautiful property for this past labor day weekend and have to say it was the perfect place to relax for the weekend. When we arrived, Joan had the fridge stocked with eggs, bacon, milk, butter, jam and bread. We were able to utilize the fishing equipment (although we couldn't catch the fish we saw jumping). The property is totally secluded other than Joan's beautiful personal home and some deer, groundhogs and other wildlife. Joan was also willing to extended us some courtesies which we really appreciated. Upon leaving Monday everyone in my group said they could not wait to come back and relax again soon.

Wonderful Cottage

  • 5 of 5

My family and I spent a weekend at Joan's cottage and couldn't have loved it more. We have 2 small children and it was the perfect size for us to be comfortable but also able to keep track of everyone easily. The cottage is in wonderful condition and the kitchen is well stocked (the breakfast fixings were such a nice touch!). We particularly enjoyed the fireplace and were grateful for a hearty supply of firewood. The property that the cottage is on is peaceful and so beautiful and my kids loved being able to roam around and explore. If we're ever back in the area I would love to stay here again.

Owner's Response: It's always heartening to hear that guests enjoy the property as much as we do. Those seeking peace and quiet have found a haven, as have the kids looking to capture a pond frog or catch a glimpse of fawns playing in the yard. It is our pleasure to share the experience with visitors -- and the first breakfast is always "on the house." Joan

Great week in a lovely setting

  • 5 of 5

My husband, myself and our dog just finished a wonderful week at this cottage. It was bigger than I expected, so I suggested the owner add photos, which I see she has. The house is well-equipped, and we had plenty of firewood for nice fires in the fireplace. The setting is even nicer than I expected, as you are surrounded by woods. It's a very peaceful, natural setting. While you can see the main house, it is far enough away to give the cottage privacy but close enough to run over and ask a question or drop off the key. The owner works hard to make your stay comfortable, including stocking the house with helpful things (like a hairdryer) and buying breakfast provisions for your first breakfast. I found plenty of things to do in the area while my husband worked all week, and highly recommend the Grounds for Sculpture which I had previously seen during warmer weather. Princeton is a cute town, and has many wonderful restaurants, which was a real plus since we are foodies. There is good history, art and antiquing around, and many trails to walk on.

Best Thanksgiving

  • 5 of 5

My family stayed here during Thanksgiving. My home in Manhattan is too crowded for my entire family. This place was very clean and quiet. We played card games in the kitchen. We enjoyed clean and cold outside air. We drove to the nearby Princeton campus and watched a movie: The bird man. I prepared and used my sleeping bag for myself because beds were only for 4 people.
