A Week in Montreal
My boyfriend and I stayed at Pierre’s apartment in Hochelaga-Maisonneuve neighborhood of the lovely city of Montreal. The apartment was fabulous! A floor through, with a comfortable, airy bedroom (although street side, we just closed window and were able to block out the very occasional street noise), easy cooking kitchen complete with all equipment needed, spacious living room, basic tv (no streaming with my computer), Internet WiFi access, w/d, d/w. and the key selling point: a small but sweet back porch overlooking the lush backyards of this area—sit with a cup of coffee, listen to the birds sing, read the newspaper online, and playing music on this comfortable and peaceful porch.
Pierre was a welcoming, helpful owner. He engaged in speaking French with me, although I am nowhere near fluent. He was also able to speak with my partner in English, and teach my partner some French, as well. He answered text questions promptly and came over to help us whenever we needed something explained (i.e. how to turn on tv or coffeemaker 🤪). He allowed us to lock our bikes in his backyard. And he spent more time than people usually do just chatting with us about life in Montreal. Trés aimable! Merci, Pierre!
We both agree we would return to his lovely apartment in this off-the-beaten-path neighborhood of beautiful Montreal.
We had a lovely week here and thank Pierre for his help and hospitality. The apartment is modern and clean in a quiet neighbourhood. It is a little outside the city centre (metro and bus) but perfectly manageable and well worth getting a weekly card which enables you to use both and is good value.
Popular for a reason
Pierre was a wonderful host, the apartment is lovely, the neighbourhood is great.
Thank you very much for your visit and we hope to see you again,
We had a Wonderful Time
Your place was wonderful. Quiet and beautiful. We enjoyed the neighborhood which had everything we could have wanted, a market, a coffee shop, restaurants, and more. Public transportation took us everywhere in Montreal we wanted to visit and leaving the car parked all week was effortless. Thanks! We'll visit again one day.
merci pour votre retour et au plaisir de vous accueillir à nouveau
Comfortable, spaceous, value for money 1BR apartment for a couple.
Pierre's apartment was ideally positioned for our stay in Montreal. For a couple it was of a good size, with a well appointed open plan kitchen/living room. It was secure and clean. Being a first floor apartment access is from external stairs which would difficult for the frail elderly. Pierre was helpful and friendly. We would be happy to stay again on our next trip to Montreal.
Indeed, these external stairs which make the charm of Montreal, can also cause minor disadvantages...we are sorry for this situation.
This apartment is in a very convenient location in Montréal. One of the wonderful Montréal Marché is within a 5 minute walk, giving a visitor a chance to get all the tasty cheese, bread and pastries, and groceries you could want. Five minutes in the other direction is an excellent grocery store. The apartment has everything you would need; it is very comfortable, modern, well-equipped and inviting. If you ride a bike, the paths are right outside your door; otherwise public transportation is easily and conveniently accessed. The property owner provided assistance whenever needed and was most gracious and welcoming. Excellent restaurants and pubs are within easy walking distance. We already talk about returning!
Thank you, it was a great pleasure to meet both of you,
