Our cozy 3-story chalet-style home sleeps 6. It has 3 bedrooms (1 king, 1 double , 1 queen) with 2 full baths. It is fully furnished with bed linens and towels , up-to- date appliances, and 2 flat-screen satellite tvs, Main level living-room has wood-burning fireplace, and gas grill on deck. Spacious finished basement has wood-burning fireplace, large sectional sofa , table-and-chair set -- perfect for après ski entertaining . Decks on all levels. Driveway parking is available for 3 cars. Please note this home is well lived in and for any allergy reasons this property is very dog friendly and has a dog that lives here in the summer months. Check in time 4pm. Check out time 11 am. This allows time for cleaning in between guests. Thanks , and enjoy!

Great location for skiing, not a very well-maintained home

The home was nicely decorated, pet friendly, and close to Nubs Nob so it seemed like the perfect fit for my family. The air quality of the home is not very good, it smelled musty/moldy, especially in the basement. My husband's allergies were triggered so much by the dust and mold that he hardly slept while we were there. We came away feeling disappointed as we felt that we paid far too much money for the conditions of the home.

Will not go back

If you don't care about cleanliness, stains, or holes, then this is the place for you! The location was about 5-10 minutes from nubs nob and boyne highlands but that is where the redeeming qualities end. What we arrived to was nothing short of a pig sty. Dog hair amassed on the carpeting. Stains up and down staircase and throughout the main floor. Most of the rugs were torn or worn through. The beds were not properly assembled and the master bed was covered in dog hair. Try crawling into bed after a long day only to be suffocated by dog hair - not cool. When we went to change the sheets (with new/clean sheets) none could be found. Instead we found haphazardly folded sheets, again full of dog hair. The keurig coffee cup brewer was full of lime and therefore unusable for our 4-day stay so we had to go down the road to the local coffee shop. So much for coffee in your pajamas to start the day. The owner did deliver a new pot late on our last night there - too little too late... As far as cooking goes we went to use the dishes and found them to be filthy - even with recently used grease spatterings and fried onions - delicious! Not. Needless to say we washed EVERY dish before it was used. Because of the filth we felt uncomfortable our entire stay. We never took our shoes off from fear of the mess. When we asked for consideration we received our cleaning fee charges back, and that was it. Based on the filth we were expecting much more than that. Owner boasts that there are 2 fireplaces, yet only one was working. This was a disappointment and surely we won't be back...I would recommend this property to NO ONE. Any 3-star hotel is a fantasy getaway compared to this place. This place is a dump.

Owner's Response: I appreciate the opportunity to discuss this complaint further, as I feel I had remedied the situation promptly. This was first brought to my knowledge when the tenant called me at 10:45pm, day of check-in (Note: I had allowed an early check in). I replied to her call, and no response from her, so I thought everything was okay. The next day she wrote me back, and said she got into the house and she would call me later. At 2pm, I finally spoke with her, where she had then brought to my attention only a few of these issues at hand. She had not mentioned anything in the first 24hrs. I apologized, and called my cleaning lady to discuss her work prior to tenants arrival. At that time, tenant told me coffee maker wasn't working, and I went and bought a new one for the house right away, as I was close to town. As for the carpet/dog hair- I have stated in my property listing, it is a well lived in house, there are vintage older area rugs covering any sort of imperfection. I also state I have a dog that lives there half of the year (so tenants are fully aware before booking in case of allergy/pet hair concerns). This is a pet friendly rental. This tenant with the above complaint, had not one, but THREE dogs with her for the weekend. I noticed that when I dropped off the new coffee maker. The food she spoke of in the refrigerator/cupboards were only condiments, i.e. mustard, ketchup, spices in cabinets, and coffee. Both my dishwasher and refrigerator are new this year, so I find it hard to believe that every dish in the entire house was dirty. Also stated in property description, I have two wood burning fireplaces, that tenants use, which can sometimes give off a smell of smoke, so the other downstairs fireplace is recommended not to be used at this time frame. As for sheets. I spoke with my cleaning lady about this and she will make sure top sheets are on all beds from now on... The linens for tenders some times do collet dog hair even when washed and clean. I offered to have the cleaning lady come while they were staying and the tennent declined. After I spoke with the tenant, upon her departure, I offered her a security deposit refund as well as a cleaning fee reimbursement. Which was given in full for any Inconvienance. Any of the reviews prior and after this individuals stay have been nothing but positive. I reccomend staying in a hotel if you are not looking for a cozy well lived in ski chalet...

Great place to stay for a ski weekend!

Sarah's home, located in a nice neighborhood on a hill, is somehow cozy yet spacious at the same time. There was plenty of space for my family of 5 plus two dogs. I love the open flow of the kitchen/living room. The teenagers enjoyed the flat screen TV in the huge walk out basement, though they would have loved the place even better if it had wifi. We spent most of our time playing games we found in the home (scrabble, yahtzee, taboo and a really interesting night of "cards against humanity"!") in front of the living room fireplace. It's a good idea to bring some fire starters because there was plenty of firewood but no easy way to get a fire going without them. (Sarah, it would be great if you could stock one of those long lighters for the fireplace and gas grill too. :) There were lots of spices in the cupboard and condiments in the fridge, plenty of toilet paper and paper towels,liquid hand soap at every sink (no bar soap for the showers so bring that, folks; no Kleenex either so I was glad I had brought a box from home ) even extras like tools in the closet if you need them.. I wish there had been a TV in the living room, but barring that, at least a small stereo or iphone speaker so we could have music. The owner provided excellent customer service and answered my many questions quickly and patiently. The house is only 5 minutes or so from Nub's Nob and Boyne Highlands. We had amazing ski conditions when we were there which made for an awesome weekend in a very comfortable, charming home!

Excellent House, Excellent Location

The house was exactly as described and about 5 minutes from both Nubs Nob and Boyne Highlands. The house's 3 rooms worked very well for the 2 couples and 1 baby and the basement with its very comfortable couch was amazing to relax in after a long day of skiing. I would plan on returning in the future.

Close to the slopes

My wife and I and our two kids and another couple and one dog spent an extended weekend here. It was large enough to accommodate all of us comfortably. The house was fully stocked with everything we needed. Nubs/Boyne are close by so it was very convenient for the skiers in the group. The owner was very responsive and helpful through email.

Fun ski weekend!

My wife and I booked this vacation rental with another couple for a long weekend ski trip. This house was perfect for us as it offered plenty of room for all of our ski gear and provided several areas to relax after a long day of skiing. The kitchen had all the utensils, cups, bowls, and everything we needed which made it very easy to make meals. The owner was very accommodating and made our trip very easy from booking through our stay.
