Enjoy Oregon's amazing wine country, come back to relax on the Willamette River

Bedrooms 1
Space 450 sq ft
Property type apartment

About the property

Private stuido apartment, queen bed, futon sleeps 2, complete kitchen, deck

Winter is a great time to experience the wonderful state of Oregon. Come and enjoy the beautiful wine country, and when your day is done, come back to relax with breath taking views of the Willamette River.

Our home is right outside the small town of Newberg. We love living in the coutry where you can sit on our deck, drinking your morning coffee or evening wine, while you watch all the water activities as boats drive by. Ready for a quiet walk? Our mile long road is just what you need, where you will only hear a tractor or accasional horse whinny. During the summer one of our favorite treats living here, is waking up to the hot air balloons that pass right by our house. They drift down the river thru this amazing courtyside every weekend, and go where the wind carries them.

The apartment is located above the garage with a private entrance. There is a queen size bed, bathroom, and complete kitchen.

At your arrival, the refrigerator is stocked with bottled water, and most condiments. We also have coffee and tea for you. If you would like to make breakfast, you can collect fresh eggs delivered daily from our pet chickens. ( or I will get them for you! )

We want you to feel comfortable and welcome at our home. There is a deck off the apartment that leads into our backyard. There you will find our family deck whick overlooks the river, the BBQ, and gardens. During the summer you can walk thru the garden, and choose from a variety of berries and fresh vegetables to pick and enjoy. We also have a washer and dryer for you to use, that is located in our garage.

We enjoy meeting our guests, and getting to know them and their stories. Although, since the apartment is separate from our house, there is quite a bit of privacy. Should you need anything, we are always available in the house, or by phone. Of course, our golden retriever, Kona, is always here to Welcome You and share a much loved toy.

*** this apartment is NOT suitable for young children, due to steep stairs.

About Tracy and Jack Bischoff

We have been married for 35 years. We have 3 children and 6 grandchildren. We are lucky all of them live in the Portland area so we are able to see them often. We also own 2 produce markets and 2 daycare centers in the area.

It was always our dream to build a house and live in the country. In 2001 we began that dream. We moved the tiny cottage-style house that was by the road, back near the river and added much needed space. Then my husband and boys starting building our home, and it seems like we have always been doing something to improve it since! Whenever friends or family come over, they always say how relaxing and beautiful it is out here. We are truly blessed to be surrounded by God's beauty, and are excited to be able and share it with our guests.

Why Tracy and Jack Bischoff chose Newberg

Newberg is a small town with a small town feel. Book stores, antique, bakery, and coffee shops line the streets of old town. There are also many attractions available near us. The Vista Hot Air Balloons, Evergreen Air Museum and Waterpark, Spirit Mountain Casino, Woodburn Outlet Mall are all within 30-40 miles. The Oregon coast is just a little further, and an easy day trip from here. Above all, wine tasting is the most popular... and Yamhill county proudly represents the largest amount of wineries and vineyards in Oregon. There are over 80 wineries, and 200 vineyards!

What makes this apartment unique

Perfect out of the way yet close enough to everything needed!

  • 5 of 5

What a great place to land! The balloons really do go overhead while sitting on the deck watching the river go by and having your morning coffee! Clean, tidy, everything you need to set up a homey landing after exploring the Oregon attractions. And Kona is the ultimate greeter! :-)

Privacy and all the comforts of home are waiting when you arrive - nothing was left out - I couldn't have asked for more. Thanks Tracy and Jack ~ you have a beautiful property and setting!

Tranquil setting with the Willamette river right in the back yard. Beautiful colors at sunset can be viewed from the second floor deck. close to shopping, dining and wineries.

Peaceful Location

  • 5 of 5

The room is very private above the garage. We did not hear garage activity so if you are worried about being above a garage don't. There is a loverly deck that you could sit on. We did not spend much time in the room as we were out and about most of the time.

Perfect place to get away

  • 5 of 5

This is a lovely and secluded spot, and yet not far from great wineries. I enjoyed a scene just like this from my balcony, a balloon over the Willamette River in the early morning. The apartment over the garage is comfortable and well-equipped, and we had fresh eggs in our frig when we arrived. I recommend the Champoeg State Park, with its small history museum and bushes full of ripe blackberries for the picking. Thanks, Tracy and Jack and Kona!

Small but perfect apartment in tranquil location

  • 5 of 5

We were so lucky to be able to book this apartment at short notice. Tracy worked with us by email and text to make it all happen within a few hours and we were so grateful.

The apartment is small but very comfortable and has everything you could possibly need. The views from the balcony are beautiful and we really enjoyed the peace and quiet. That said, the apartment is very convenient to the wineries, restaurants and shops in Newberg, Dundee, McMinville and Carlton, so we had the best of both worlds. A perfect location! We are already planning our next visit.
