Well appointed spacious accommodation.
Accurate description. Spacious - even with 8 adults! Comfortable. Clean. Nicely decorated. Good kitchen. Good bathrooms. Off road car parking. Quiet location. Bus stops outside. SPAR 5 minutes walk. The owner Etienne was friendly and quick to answer emails.
The refundable deposit procedure was not explained at time of booking but was not a problem in the end. :-)
The main gripe is that none of us could make the WiFi work. It would have been 5 stars otherwise.
I would happily go back again or recommend to a friend or relative. :-)

Wonderful Chalet in a perfect location
This is the second time that we have stayed at Ancolie. It is a lovely, spacious chalet that has been beautifully decorated and is extremely well equipped with everything that is needed for a self-catering ski holiday. We really love the location, next to the bus stop and just seconds to walk to the nursery slopes and yet also convenient for the shops in the centre of Val. Etienne is very quick to reply to my emails and has been very helpful in answering questions. Hopefully, we will be back again next season!
Basement potential death-trap ; unscrupulous owner
The apartment is split into two levels - ground floor with living room, kitchen, two bedrooms and a bathroom. The other two bedrooms and bathroom are in the basement, which is reached by a narrow winding staircase. Under suitability, the owner advertises "suitable for elderly or infirm wheelchair accessible" - this is a stretch to say the least!!
There are no windows in any of the rooms in the basement, and since these rooms can only be accessed by the narrow winding staircase, there is no other means of escape in the event of a fire. The rooms downstairs are a potential death trap, and there was some debate when we arrived which family in our group would stay down there.
It would certainly NOT be legal to rent out this property in the UK.
The owner deducted an outrageous cleaning fee from the deposit - making out it was impossible to remove a yoghurt stain that we hadn't noticed from one of the cushions on the sofa - which we found highly dubious. He also accused us of damage we didn't do i.e. chipping glassware…
We have rented properties through HomeAway on a number of occasions and this is the first time an owner has ever ripped us off like this. We have informed HomeAway about this issue.

Great self catered chalet in Val d'Isere
A group of 6 os us rented this chalet for a week in Jan 2013. The chalet is in a fabulous location - 5 -10min walk to the ski lifts or you can take the bus which stops right outside the chalet.
Etienne who took our booking was very helpful and accurately described the chalet which is decorated to a very high standard. The rooms are all good sizes and the kitchen has everything you need for cooking.
I would highly recommend this chalet to groups looking for a self catered rental close to the slopes, shops, bars and restaurants in Val D'Isere.
Val d'Isere Central Appartment
This apartment is fantastically located for the lifts. You can ride back to the front door at the end the day. A great sized property with great facilites and very comfortable. The location cannot be bettered with the use of secure underground parking that is literally under the block. The flat looks out over the nursery and lift stations so ideal for family or friends. Everything was close by such as lift pass, rental bars cafe's. Clean, fresh linen, TV, DVD, well equipped kitchen made the stay home from home. We are re booking and highly recommend.

Nous avons passé un agréable séjour d'une semaine dans cet appartement. Il est très spacieux et bien équipé. Les couchages sont de qualité et les salles de bains très belles.
La situation est idéale : au calme à quelques pas du centre ville et tout proche des pistes. Nous espérons revenir l'année prochaine !
