Why Tara Bentley chose Kentucky

This spacious and historic home is the perfect resting spot for your family's visit to the Creation Museum.

What makes this house unique

This quaint, historic house was once the home to Captain Perry McNeely and his family. The Captain and his wife had 12 children and all four boys went on to be Captains as well. Their home faces the beautiful Ohio River and you can imagine wifey and the children watching the river for Captain to return home. You family will love spending time together in this home. With open space flowing between the living room, dining room, and nook space… you'll have room to gather together for meals, games and late night conversations. The loft room is perfect for children to play together!

Great place for a family reunion

  • 5 of 5

Enjoyed staying here for our family reunion. We had 10 people and had more than enough room for our family. Excellent proximity to the Creation Museum and not far from the Ark Encounter.

Awesome house!

It was nice to stay in one place as opposed to multiple hotel rooms. We found it to be clean and roomy!

Pleasant vacation.

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at Captain's Quarters. For our family configuration it worked out perfectly. We enjoyed watching the barges on the river & also the quiet & unique town of Petersburg. Nice to walk & jog in b/c almost no traffic. The beds we used (8) were very comfortable & we appreciated the convenient hooks and shelves (not adequate in many rentals). Kitchen was well equipped & there was plenty of table space for meals, games & crafts. We all (2 children, 3 adults & 3 seniors) enjoyed the Creation Museum & Ark Encounter and pleasant down time at the Captain's Quarters in Petersburg. Thanks much.

The home had plenty of space for our stay.

  • 5 of 5

The house was very nicely stocked with anything we were in need of for cooking. There was plenty of room for our group. When we did our nightly devotional there was plenty of room for everyone to split up and have there own personal quiet time and plenty of room for us to meet as a group. We were not too far from the Ark Encounter, which we were able to visit along with some other attractions in the area.

The Captain's Quarters

  • 5 of 5

We had a family trip of 4 adults and 5 children, one being an infant, for whom we brought along a "pack and play" for him to sleep. The house is located very close to The Creation Museum, not far from The Ark Encounter the Cincinnati Zoo and Riverfront. It was a very hot week, but the house is nicely air conditioned and roomy, with many beds, tables and chairs. It was delightful to watch the barges go by on the Ohio River, just across the road from the house. Petersburg is a very small town, but the highway is nearby as are other towns. An extremely small place to visit nearby was called Rabbit Hash. You blink and you are through, but the grandchildren loved the General Store. It's very, very small and cute place to visit.

Overall, we had a great visit and very nice accommodations.

Our clan, J, G, Z, R, A, J, L, M, J
