Why Tara Bentley chose Kentucky

This spacious and historic home is the perfect resting spot for your family's visit to the Creation Museum.

What makes this house unique

This quaint, historic house was once the home to Captain Perry McNeely and his family. The Captain and his wife had 12 children and all four boys went on to be Captains as well. Their home faces the beautiful Ohio River and you can imagine wifey and the children watching the river for Captain to return home. You family will love spending time together in this home. With open space flowing between the living room, dining room, and nook space… you'll have room to gather together for meals, games and late night conversations. The loft room is perfect for children to play together!

Great place for a family reunion

  • 5 of 5

Enjoyed staying here for our family reunion. We had 10 people and had more than enough room for our family. Excellent proximity to the Creation Museum and not far from the Ark Encounter.

Great House!

  • 5 of 5

The Captain's Quarters was great for our youth group of 14. There was enough beds for everyone to have their own, and the kids really enjoyed being able to walk to the river and go to the basketball court. There was also plenty of seating in the house as well. I highly recommend this house for church groups who are wanting to visit the Creation Museum and Ark Encounter.

This place fit our family very well!! Loved the big porch in the back - perfect for coffee & lots of good conversations with family!! Yes it is an old house but has so much character! They keep it up very well. The kitchen is so nice & spacious & also nice seating area in dining room. I would definitely recommend this place!

Our family of 9 adults and 2 small children enjoyed our stay immensely. there was plenty of room!

  • 4 of 5

We had a great time! The kitchen was amazing, plenty of room to prepare our feasts and plenty of dining space. The little ones enjoyed the secret hideouts (big empty closets). We so enjoyed the evenings relaxing on the big porch. In the mornings, we loved our walks in the quiet neighborhood. We watched some barges mosey down the river and our history buffs loved the historic background. We enjoyed our day trips to see the Ark, Creation Museum, Aquarium, and a family reunion! There were plenty of beds for everyone. Not great privacy, but in our case that was not a big deal. The upstairs loft was very spacious. This would be an excellent space for a retreat or youth group. We had everything we needed and Tara was very prompt to respond to any questions. We made many wonderful memories while we were there and would gladly go back again.

Very comfortable for a large group!

  • 5 of 5

The house was nice to come "home" to after a day out doing stuff. It was wonderful having a full kitchen and so much dining space. The beds were comfortable. The living room was great for relaxing in the evening. We loved the porch. And having the river right across the street not only made for a nice view, but was fun to go down to the river. The kids/teens all loved the loft room. Having only 2 bathrooms and 1 shower was fine, you just have to know that ahead of time. I would suggest this place to any friends coming to the area.

House was great and plenty of room for our youth.

  • 5 of 5

House was clean with plenty of beds for 14 on our trip with beds to spare. Plenty of seating. Youth loved playing volleyball outside and going to river. Adults enjoyed sitting on porch visiting. The weather was great. We went to the Creation Museum and The Ark and had a wonderful trip. We would definitely stay at the Captians Quarters again.
