Come on board for a cruise over the rooftops of Paris ! Imagine taking your “apéritif” on the upper deck, with the baroque dome of the “Val de Grâce” glistening in the setting sun. . .
The incredible view, the magnificent oak floor and the high ceilings with its ancient decoration could just carry you further. . .
Located in a very calm street of an otherwise lively quarter, this homestead is neither far from the big museums (Louvre, Orsay. . . ), neither from beautiful parks (Luxembourg, “Jardin des Plantes”) nor from the bustling street markets (Mouffetard)
My husband, 2 sisters and a brother-in-law spent 5 nights in this lovely apartment. Elisabeth was not able to meet us, so she asked her best friend to meet us instead. We were welcomed with wine, a baguette and several cheeses. Lovely view of the city out the living room window. Two bedrooms, and the den has double doors with and a hide-a-bed, which turned into a very comfortable and private bedroom for my sister. It is a comfortable apartment for 6 people, if you don't mind sharing one shower. The 2 toilets were private and separate from the shower, so that made it convenient. This apartment is near everything. We walked to the L'ouvre, Notre Dame, Luxumbourg Gardens, Musee d'Orsay...everywhere! Nice restaurants close by within walking distance. Its also clse to the metro station with no transfers to Charles de Gaulle airport. The only thing I would suggest to to make sure you know how to open the front door to get out of the building. There's a button on the wall (top left, right) to push that they forget to tell us about. Since it was a friend and not Elisabeth, she must've forgotten about that. All in all, a great place to stay in a perfect location!
We spent July 2015 in this apartment. It is the sixth floor of an older building with a good working elevator. There is a beautiful view over rooftops, facing south, from the living room. The apartment has a spacious living room/dining room combination. We had ten for dinner one night and there was enough room. There are three large bedrooms, one with two queens, one with one queen, and a den with a fold out queen. All beds are pretty comfortable. The are two toilets, one at either end, one with a sink. There is a large bathroom at the end with twin sinks and a large beautiful shower. Although there were record high temperatures during our stay, the apartment remains cool because of cross breezes. The kitchen is normal Parisian size, with adequate counter space. The kitchen is fully equipped with all modern conveniences, including a comprehensive food processor. All appliances have accessible manuals which were easy to follow. The washer and dryer worked well, although both could not be used at the same time, a minor inconvenience. The apartment has a modern decor and is beautifully appointed. We had 4 to 6 people sleeping in the apartment and there was more than adequate room. The conscierge also was the cleaner and she kept the apartment clean, at no charge to us. The owner was present when we needed him and was extremely courteous and helpful. The apartment is near the Pantheon in the 5th and centrally located for all Paris attractions, all of which can be reached on foot in less than an hour. There is some noise from the street below which we noticed because we had to keep the windows open but this did not interfere with sleep. We were extremely satisfied with every aspect of this apartment. The only thing missing was ice cube trays but Americans tend to like ice more than Europeans. This apartment is ideal for a large group.
When we first started to make plans for a visit to Paris, we decided renting an apartment would be a better option for us than a hotel with limited space. We are a family of six: two parents and four adult children from 18 to 25. We wanted at least three bedrooms. We searched the internet, with some worries about how contracting with unfamiliar people would work out. After reviewing many, many apartments, we came across this gem. We are so happy that we did!
The apartment is beautiful, well maintained, and very nicely equipped. It is in a fantastic location. At night it was very quite, yet the apartment is only a very short walk from busy streets with both stores and restaurants of every kind. It is also a short walk to the Pantheon, the Cluny, and Luxembourg Gardens, and a very easy but slightly longer walk to Notre Dame and the Ile de la Cite. The building has a sweet elevator, which I really appreciated since I tore a meniscus a couple of weeks before our visit; but others in my family walked up and down every time. The tall windows that opened to balconies with roof tops views enhanced the Parisian experience.
The apartment was always a comfortable temperature. Sufficient hot water in the shower was never a problem. We didn’t use all of the appliances, but the dishwasher, washing machine, and dryer were easy to use.
The hosts were incredibly wonderful too. They answered every email promptly, and worked with us when our original plans had to be adjusted. They facilitated check in and check out around our flights. They started off our supplies with a bottle of wine and a fresh loaf of bread. They also helped us arrange transportation to the airport.
We could go on and on, but the bottom line is that apartment is everything and more as described on the site, and the hosts have provided every convenience (including all those things listed but also extra converters and guide books), and they are kind and helpful. Thanks so much, Elisabeth and Klaus, for a fantastic home in Paris!
It is impossible to speak highly enough of this terrific apartment and warmth of these wonderful hosts. Our stay here was truly memorable and we would highly recommend staying in this beautiful airy space, which has delightful views over Paris. Just a short stroll from Luxenburg Metro station, and an easy walk from restaurants and wonderful providores, this apartment is spacious and has all the comforts of home. Our party of 8 comprised two families and there was ample space to accommodate us all ( the children shared double beds). The sofa bed was very comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. So much more appealing than staying a soulless hotel, a wonderful way to enjoy the city of light.
It is impossible to speak highly enough of this gorgeous apartment and the courteousness of these lovely owners.
The space is very large, tastefully appointed with wonderful views and lots of light and air. The building in which it is located is charming, from the delightful period lift to well maintained facade and public areas. The area is quiet enough to ensure a restful night's sleep while still being very handy to restaurants, wonderful local produce and the metro (Luxenburg station being just a few minutes stroll from the front door). Inside the apartment the beds are comfortable, there is everything you need in the kitchen (not that we cooked much when there are so many terrific food options right outside the door) and shower is wonderful with great pressure and plenty of hot water. The heating is very effective and we were warm and cosy for the duration of our stay. The owners were always prompt and polite in their responses and made every effort to ensure our stay was memorable and stress free. I would recommend without hesitation this apartment and hope that one day I will have the chance to return to this beautiful spot. (Why you would stay in a hotel when you can enjoy a lovely environment like this I cannot imagine!).
Our family of five stayed in this lovely 6th floor apartment for 8 days. It was exceptionally clean and comfortable and even nicer than the pictures suggest. The office has a very comfortable pull out couch and the room is quite large. The location was very good--near enough to walk to major attractions but far enough from the main street to be quiet. We especially enjoyed shopping and eating on nearby Rue Mouffetard and walking in the Jardin du Luxembourg. We found Elisabeth and Klaus to be very helpful and kind. Klaus met us upon our arrival and showed us everything we needed to know and advised on us good restaurants in the area. At the end of our stay, we had to leave very early and Elizabeth arranged for a taxi to pick us up at 5:00. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone visiting Paris.
