Why Tris Waystack chose Lake Marion

My wife, children and I throughaly enjoy the outdoors. Between 4 wheeling, hunting and fishing we have spent much family time together in this area. Born and raised in Orangeburg, i fell in love with the charm of the cabin and want to make it available to others that might not have the same access to outdoors as I have been granted.

PERFECTION

  • 5 of 5

The perfect getaway place! We cooked Thanksgiving dinner for seven and the cabin was stocked with everything we needed! Everything was clean and smelled great! We fished, we hot tubbed, we played games, we ate (ALOT) and we relaxed for four perfect days! Our party consisted of four adults and three teenagers and no one was bored for even a moment, it was just perfect! The owner was wonderful and beyond accommodating! Thank you Tris!! It's amazing how you can be just a few feet off the road and feel like you're in another world! We can't wait to go back!!

Exactly what we needed!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed here on our way back from FL, and it was exactly what we were looking for. Tris and his wife stopped by to check us in, to show us everything, and to make sure we didn't have any questions. They live nearby, so they were available if we had any issues. Super sweet couple! The cabin was clean and rustically decorated. Beds and furniture were very comfortable - my husband LOVED the camo recliner! Kitchen was well-stocked, and bathroom was just fine! Plenty of towels and toilet paper! Outside the cabin was even better!! The screened porch had its own dining area and plenty of extra chairs. The hot tub felt amazing!! I pretty much soaked in that while my husband fished in the beautiful tree-surrounded pond! He used one of the boats that were there for our use, but also enjoyed casting from the little dock. Really relaxing! We didn't use the fire pit, but it would have been wonderful had the weather been a bit colder. TV channels are limited, but there is a DVD player. We found some of our favorite movies for $5 at the local Walmart, and Tris and his wife said that they also have plenty of movies at their house that could be borrowed. No WiFi, but part of the true charm of this cabin is the chance to truly UNPLUG from everything. And if you just must get connected, town is a short but beautiful drive away. Plenty of restaurants and coffee shops to check out too. We really enjoyed our stay, and we hope to be back again soon.

Great Post-Hurricane Stay

  • 5 of 5

Tris was a great host after Hurricane Matthew wreaked havoc on the state. He refunded a day for us and got things back in working order. Great property, great guy!

Just as advertised...

  • 4 of 5

We had a great stay at this property. Tris was extremely quick with responding to our inquiries and questions, so everything went smoothly. The property was just as expected; rustic, cozy and secluded. Although it is one room, it is set up well and never felt small. The largemouth fishing was good and I flyfished several times everyday from the dock or the jon boat. In the evenings we relaxed in the salt water hottub and had a few fires in the firepit. We wished we had brought our binoculars for bird watching. The variety of birds really was amazing...obviously drawn by the abundant food source the pond provides.

Peaceful getaway

  • 5 of 5

Escape it all with a wonderful getaway to this private 14 acre pond. We all loved fishing on the dock and in boats. So peaceful to sit and just watch the clouds pass by while laying in the hammock. We are looking forward to another trip, want to see the leaves change all around the pond!

Highly recommended you visit this cabin on a pond too!

Extremely quiet and beautiful area

  • 5 of 5

We had two couples stay for a full week. We are definately planning another trip here. The owners were great, very personable and laid back and responded quickly before and during our stay! The fishing is the main reason we chose this place and it was great, we caught five bass at least 4 lbs or more , most of the 40 or so fish we caught and released here were in the 1-2 lb range but overall the bite was awesome. We throughly enjoyed the fishing the wives loved the hot tub and it isnt to far from stores if you need something. Overall the property was clean inside and out and we look forward to going back!
