The 175 acre property offers plenty of room to take leisurely strolls and is home to an abundance of turkey, and deer. During the winter weather, the house is ideal for families that want a quiet escape. The house is supplied with linens, towels, coffee pot, pots, pans and a charcoal grill. Located 35 miles of east of Columbia South Carolina, 8 miles west of Orangeburg, the house is easy to reach but still an idyllic spot for fishermen.
My wife, children and I throughaly enjoy the outdoors. Between 4 wheeling, hunting and fishing we have spent much family time together in this area. Born and raised in Orangeburg, i fell in love with the charm of the cabin and want to make it available to others that might not have the same access to outdoors as I have been granted.
Came here somewhat for business but also looking to get away from the city and kids (and the Indiana cold weather)..... This is very secluded and peaceful. Sitting in front of the fire looking out over the pond was awesome. Wish we had thought to bring hot dogs.... you are close enough to town but far enough away to enjoy the fresh air. Planned on 3 nights, ended up staying "Just one more night" .... LOL Four nights was still not enough, but will have to do for now.... already thinking of our return trip.
Tris was wonderful. Very informative about the towns around (which was helpful for what we needed). Plan on returning.
The cabin was neat and clean and everything you could need was all there in one room! The pond was a nice thing to see just right outside the back door. We loved the peace and quiet and solitude!
We drove from Texas specifically to stay at this cabin. The owner was super friendly and helpful. The place was very peaceful and our family enjoyed the pond and the whole experience. We will definitely book here again!
The perfect getaway place! We cooked Thanksgiving dinner for seven and the cabin was stocked with everything we needed! Everything was clean and smelled great! We fished, we hot tubbed, we played games, we ate (ALOT) and we relaxed for four perfect days! Our party consisted of four adults and three teenagers and no one was bored for even a moment, it was just perfect! The owner was wonderful and beyond accommodating! Thank you Tris!! It's amazing how you can be just a few feet off the road and feel like you're in another world! We can't wait to go back!!
My husband and I stayed here on our way back from FL, and it was exactly what we were looking for. Tris and his wife stopped by to check us in, to show us everything, and to make sure we didn't have any questions. They live nearby, so they were available if we had any issues. Super sweet couple! The cabin was clean and rustically decorated. Beds and furniture were very comfortable - my husband LOVED the camo recliner! Kitchen was well-stocked, and bathroom was just fine! Plenty of towels and toilet paper! Outside the cabin was even better!! The screened porch had its own dining area and plenty of extra chairs. The hot tub felt amazing!! I pretty much soaked in that while my husband fished in the beautiful tree-surrounded pond! He used one of the boats that were there for our use, but also enjoyed casting from the little dock. Really relaxing! We didn't use the fire pit, but it would have been wonderful had the weather been a bit colder. TV channels are limited, but there is a DVD player. We found some of our favorite movies for $5 at the local Walmart, and Tris and his wife said that they also have plenty of movies at their house that could be borrowed. No WiFi, but part of the true charm of this cabin is the chance to truly UNPLUG from everything. And if you just must get connected, town is a short but beautiful drive away. Plenty of restaurants and coffee shops to check out too. We really enjoyed our stay, and we hope to be back again soon.
Tris was a great host after Hurricane Matthew wreaked havoc on the state. He refunded a day for us and got things back in working order. Great property, great guy!
