Description

Photos and Description of this 2 bedroom holiday cabin in Arden - 114 Watson Road

Lovely space for the space and location. A true Asheville exerience!1

Renovated 1918 Log Cabin conveniently located within 15 minutes of either Hendersonville or minutes of the Biltmore House, the Blue Ridge Parkway and eclectic downtown Asheville. Although it is close-in, you feel you are miles away from everything. Central heat and air, a wood burning fireplace, screened in front porch and deck for outdoor dining. The cabin feels very private and yet is near restaurants, an urgent care center, and the airport. The cabin is old and renovated, however, do not expect this to be on Hilton Hotel standards. It is clean but not spotless. There is a water feature in the front and a creek along the back property line with lovely mature evergreens and Japanese maples in the yard. All amenities are included. Please note the nightly price reflected in the listing changes depending on the day of the week and time of the year. lower and sometimes higher.

About Lynda Rerych

I am an independent insurance broker who is semi-retired. I moved to Asheville in 1985 from Florida and have explored a lot of WNC. I love to travel and welcome young and old to this sweet cabin.

Lynda Rerych purchased this cabin in 2012

Why Lynda Rerych chose Asheville Area

Although the cabin is not in the 'heart of Asheville or Hendersonville', you have the best of both worlds where it is located. I know when I moved to the area initially, I wanted to live in a log cabin in the mountains. This is pretty close to that realization without the inconvenience of being remote.

What makes this cabin unique

A cozy fireplace; wonderful evergreens; privacy; close in.

Cute Cabin

  • 5 of 5

Cute little cabin close to everything. Owner was very nice and checked in with us regarding the fires in the area and places to hike. (We were super worried about the wildfires since we weren't sure it was safe.)

The cabin is plenty big for a family, but since it was just my husband and me we enjoyed the extra space.

I will warn you, if you plan on doing laundry while you're up there and are allergic to scents, buy or bring your own detergent. ALSO there is a Glade plug in that's well...plugged in when you get there. Just take it out if you're allergic and you won't be bothered after about 45 min or so.

Otherwise the place is nice and well-stocked. Very cute and we will return.

Great stay, fast response

  • 5 of 5

The place itself was nice. It was just like the pictures and close to Asheville. I really had no complaints on the accommodations and thought it was clean. I also enjoyed the helpful notes placed strategically around. Probably the best part for me was the speed in which our request was responded to. I had booked a cabin in Gaitlinburg but was unable to stay because of a fire in the area at the time. With no place to stay we requested stay here and the response was almost immediate. We still ended up enjoying our stay immensely. Especially since finding a place that allows pets can be challenging.

Comfortable and quiet

  • 4 of 5

We stayed one night at the cabin for a visit to Asheville to see Biltmore House (just a short drive from the cabin.) It is a quiet location and much more comfortable than staying at a hotel. It is spacious and well stocked.

Cozy Cabin near the Brewery

  • 5 of 5

A cozy, clean and comfortable log cabin just a couple of miles from the impressive Sierra Nevada Brewery, we stayed nice and warm by the fire.

Location, Charm and Comfort

  • 5 of 5

You will need a car here, nothing near enough to walk to. The cabin is close enough to Ashville to drive anywhere anytime in less than 30 minutes. Ingress and egress to the cabin is nearly flat, no stairs. Parking area is not large but flat gravel and very close to the door. We managed fine with a 12' trailer, truck and 2 Harleys with room for more. Gas, a great Ingles grocery and several restaurants are 5 minutes drive or less. The nearest neighbor is roughly 300 behind and below the cabin. The owner and crew are working on a tiny house roughly 100 feet below the cabin that may be occupied in the near future.

All the appliances, lights and HVAC worked well. The two bedrooms are separated from each other. Each is well appointed and quiet. The second bathroom while small has a better shower than the en-suite master. The kitchen was roomy and has a great deck next to it.

This rental is "a touch of country in the City"
