The property has great location. Decorated very well. Bedrooms very comfortable. BUT there are a few things that need to be updated when you are paying this kind of money for a place: 1.) Beach Equipment- there was two rusty chairs, grimy/moldy snorkel gear unusable. There should be gear to use. We did try to contact the property contact person and left message but they never called back 2.) Toilet Paper- When you have 6 adults staying a week there should be more than 4 rolls. Same with paper towels only one roll was provided. 3) There is another small unit on property and if someone had been staying there it would have been very hard with parking when you are allowed two cars for our unit. 4) Ant- Big time problem. DO NOT LEAVE ITEMS OUT. My husband worked for Terminix in Hawaii when we lived there and in his expert opinion this should not be a problem. There is something that can be done about it. We never had ants in our property when we lived in Hawaii because we used proper treatment. Contact Terminix. 5) The large deposit is a bit much to ask for on this property that should be reduced. These are all things you should all know about when renting this property.

Owner's Response: Im sorry your stay at a beach front property in immaculate condition was sub par. Per all of your points for the negative review 1.)$1000 is probably low for the 4 million dollar home you just stayed in. Its standard for all homes on vrbo especially when a ripped sofa or broken anything could cost more than that. It is clearly stated and you should not have rented the house if it was an issue. 2.)The unit above the garage is NEVER rented when anyone is there. That is a huge issue and should be deleted from the review since it is completely False 3.)We also do not state that there is any beach gear with the house. It would be impossible to keep it because people would lose it monthly. I personally did not receive any message about any beach gear or lack of paper towels. If I had then we could have fixed the issue on the spot. 4.)Lastly we have pest control that regularly maintains the property. If you leave food out yes there will be ants. Your'e not in the city and its crazy you think that there shouldn’t be ants if you leave a mess in the kitchen. I really don't see how any of these things make your stay 3 stars. I can't help but feel there is something else that happened on your trip unrelated to the property that caused you to be upset or just overall unhappy.

amazing place!

This is a great property, with private beach access and close-up viewing of winter pipeline. The house is perfect for a small family or friends' getaway. Everything you need is available either in the house or at Foodland and Ted's Bakery. I will definitely keep this on my "favorites" list!

Location Location!

Had a fantastic stay at the house, location was perfect. Near all of the famous beaches, Pipeline, Sunset and Waimea Bay. Short 5min drive or about 20min walk to the grocery store, food trucks and Shark Cove. The 'Best Fish Tacos in Hawaii' food truck did not disappoint!

The beach directly in front of the house was rough for the kids so we chose to swim at the nearby beaches, Waimea Bay was our favourite swimming spot and our older daughter loved the thrill of jumping from the rocks into the clear water. The beach at the house was perfect for kicking a ball around, walks and drinks at sunset! If you are a surfer or paddle boarder then the beach at the house would be perfect.

The house had everything to make our stay relaxed and easy, plenty of linen and cooking utensils, bathrooms and bedrooms good size, washing machine and dryer. Wifi fast and AC in the rooms was great. Security of the house was good and lockable gate down to the beach (good if travelling with young kids). Loved the outdoor shower! Sunsets from lanai each night were beautiful and we spotted dolphins one morning!

Already planning when we can visit again from Australia and have recommended the house to a number of friends and family.

A Great Place on the North Shore

The North Shore is a beautiful place and this house is great for a small group of people. Here are the great things. The beach was never crowded. Also, it's in a great location.....close to Sharks Cove....Three Tables...Waimea Bay....Turtle Beach (you will always see turtles here)...Haleiwa....Ted's Bakery....Food Land. The two bikes (although a little rusty) were a nice amenity!! There's a bike path right by the house. They provided a great way to get to Sharks Cove and Three Tables Beach on crowded days (parking is limited). WiFi and Air Conditioning worked great. Also, I personally liked the friendly little green Gecko's that frequented the deck overlooking the beach! The pictures are an accurate description of the property with the exception that there is also a rental on the property. I didn't remember receiving any information about the rental...so I was a little disappointed when I found out about it. It would have been kind of a nightmare getting cars in and out of the drive way. That said, there was nobody in the rental. So no big deal. The beach, in back of the house, was nice. The shore break is a little steep and lot's of waves (but small in comparison to winter).....so may be difficult for swimming for really small kids. We still enjoyed swimming and snorkeling. Although you won't find the quantity of fish compared to Sharks Cove, we still saw some fish. Regarding snorkeling, you can rent at Sharks Cove, but I recommend just going to Longs Drugs in Haleiwa and purchase a set for $20. Otherwise, bring your own gear. Traffic is a bit of a problem.....so I recommend going to the beaches early....or evening....otherwise ride the bikes.
