This home has recently been updated with bright beach themed décor, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, fresh interior pant, and brand new carpet! The master bedroom features a king size bed and a private, oceanfront covered porch with one of the best ocean views in Garden City. In addition to the master bedroom, this home features 3 more bedrooms to accommodate a total of 12 guests. There is also seating for 12 to dine. The kitchen is fully equipped and functional for preparing and serving meals. This home features 2 covered oceanfront porches. Wireless internet access. Brand new HVAC units. We had a great stay at "Worth the Wait". Sea Star was great to deal with and always accessible for questions. The location of the house is perfect. The pool and beach was never crowded. The was always plenty of space for Bocce ball, soccer, or football on the beach, which is a rarity in the Myrtle area. So nice to be so close to everything but not have to deal with the crowds when you get "home."

Beautiful home, beautiful beach....bad timing!!!

First off let me say that this is a beautiful home with an excellent view and access to the beach. We were absolutely thrilled when we got there but......... after our 2nd day there, things changed drastically. The renourishment project began right in front of our house. Our access to the beach was quite a detour arund, the work was continuous, 24 hour hours a day, extremely loud equipment from dust to dawn and lights shinning into the house all night long as the trucks turned round and round. We no longer had a view of anything but pipes, hauling trucks, port o johns and work trailers. So, our last 5 days were compromised. I immediately went to talk to the other property renters and was told by each and every one of them that the owners of these homes had had a conference call and agreed to reimburse each tenant for this inconvenience and their rental company had called them personally. When I called Star Realty, our company through VRBO, I was told there would be no reimbursement or alternative. To say I am unhappy about this is an understatement. This is very wrong and I should be reimbursed as well.

Owner's Response: We really appreciate you taking the time to write a review and agree that ‘Worth the Wait’ is a beautiful home perfectly located with amazing views and access to a gorgeous beach. However, we regret that, again just as you stated, the timing was not ideal. Beach Re-nourishment Projects are necessary from time to time at ALL beaches. If the beaches were never re-nourished, we would most likely not have any beach at all to enjoy. Re-nourishment is typically a repetitive process since it does not remove the physical forces that cause erosion but simply mitigates their effects. It is a common shore protection measure used by public and private entities. Unfortunately, we have no control over when, how, or the duration of beach projects, nor are we asked permission for such to take place. Sea Star Realty has no control over construction projects and cannot predict construction schedules. These projects are regulated by the US Army Corp of Engineers for the betterment of our beaches. This project, as conducted by the Army Corps of Engineers, was necessary to rebuild the dunes that were damaged during Hurricane Matthew. We had no way whatsoever of knowing that this work would be taking place in front of your rental home when the reservation was taken. Because we do realize that this is an unavoidable necessity for beaches to occasionally undergo re-nourishment projects, we have this very subject matter listed in our rental agreement that every guest must sign and the remedies for such are disclosed as well, which are that we cannot issue refunds for such occurrences. You agreed to this when you signed the rental agreement. This is a common policy of all beach rental companies. Although we deeply regret this situation, it is beyond our control and therefore, we ask that guests be patient and understanding during these seldom occurrences. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. It is our mission to insure our guests have the best vacation experience possible. Garden City is a nice, family oriented beach. The famous Garden City Beach Pier which offers fishing, live entertainment, food, ice cream, and much more. Excellent restaurants, unique shopping, beautiful golf courses, and excellent seafood located right here in Garden City. Myrtle Beach is just a twenty minute drive for unlimited entertainment, shopping, and restaurant options.
