About this property

Situated in the stunning Blaeberry Valley, 15 minutes drive from Golden, our Cordwood Chalet is the perfect getaway to peacefulness and tranquility in the heart of nature. Newly built and comfy, its location offers a wide range of outdoor activities. My partner and I have taken 6 years to build this little paradise. We have design and build the place entirely ourselves. We have tried to use as much ecological products as we could and we are proud to offer our guests a stunning surrounding environment.
In the heart of the Rocky Mountains, Cordwood Chalet is on an 8 acres lot. The surrounding neighbourhood consist of mostly acreages mountains and forest. Our crystal clear blaeberry river is minutes walk from the chalet where incredible views of the surrounding can be observe. Hiking, biking, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, downhill skiing, snowmobiling are few of several outings that can be done in the area. Our house is about 300 meters away from the Cordwood Chalet. It has its own driveway and is completely self-sufficient. Guests are greeting upon arrival and we are available for them at anytime for questions or comments. English ,French and Spanish is spoken

Peace in the Valley

This is a fantastic property in the Blaeberry valley close to Golden. A car is a necessity. If you’re looking for a brilliant property in peace and tranquility then this property is it. We saw two deer walk through the garden. The owner Prescilla is very welcoming and helpful.

Loved every minute.

We spent a wonderful week at this property. Great location just 15 mins from Golden so very easy to get supplies but also very quiet and peaceful when at the house. The quality was superb and the big windows let in so much natural daylight. We were told there is a resident bear and he/she made a brief appearance one day as it ambled through the garden so that was really cool. Made plenty of day trips to Lake Louise, Radium Hot Springs and Revelstoke etc. If you get the chance to stay here, do it, you will love it as much as we did.

An idyllic escape

Gorgeous is the best word to describe Cordwood Chalet: gorgeous building, gorgeous location, and gorgeous escape from everyday life. The chalet is fascinating in itself with lots of unusual details and thoughtful use of materials. There are large windows everywhere giving uninterrupted views of the surrounding woods, including from the bath! The whole feel of the place shows it was build with great care and attention to detail, and with consideration for its impact on the environment. Outside, you feel completely isolated from civilisation with forest and mountains all around and deer the only visitors. The lack of wifi (or even mobile phone signal most of the time) may frustrate some, but it only added to the peace and tranquility for us. Our stay there was too short and we hope to come back again one day.

Fantastic Chalet, beautiful location, an amazing week

This chalet is beautiful! The attention to detail is exquisite. It was bigger than we expected and accommodated our family of 4 perfectly. It was great having a base off the beaten track, surrounded by nature, with walks from the door, but still close enough to Golden and the National Parks to enjoy all the activities available. It was wonderful to retreat to our peaceful cabin in the evening and sit on the back porch watching rabbits, hummingbirds and the occasional passing deer. It was a perfect week.
