After visiting Flagstaff, we knew it was where we wanted to call home. Kids keep us close to town now, so we decided to share our special place in the woods!
Whether cooling off from the summer heat in our mountain oasis, or enjoying our winter wonderland sitting by the cozy wood burning stove & watching the snow fall, you hear nothing but the wind in the pines while you enjoy fantastic views- what more could you ask for? A fabulous, gourmet meal? Just minutes away in quaint downtown Flagstaff. Once you visit, you'll be counting the days until you can come back!
Had a great time staying here. Plenty of space and queit location were nice.
Overall positive experience. The location is very pretty and the house itself is pleasant even if a bit messy. Made use of the kitchen, bathrooms, porch, TV/Netflix, lights, etc, and everything is in good working order as far as we could tell.
Owner/manager was responsive and helpful.
Only warning is that it doesn't seem to sleep 15 people unless you bring plenty of air matresses or are willing to sleep on couches and carpet. There is enough floor space but larger groups should be prepared to not have a bed for everyone. You can do beds for 8-10 if you put 2 to a bed.
This home was filthy! We were charged a cleaning fee to enter so they can clean after us, but we ended up sweeping, mopping her entire home, cleaned restrooms, and wiped down counters and walls upon arrival. We even had to rewash all linens. It's ridiculous how low her cleanliness standard is. The "clean" sheets on the beds were stained and had what looked like urine, the windows appeared as if they had not been cleaned in months, the down stairs had no blinds, and there was a pooped smudged pillow that was flipped over to conceal it. The restroom floors were sticky and if that weren't enough, our linens had fur! I swept up loads of fur, and dirt along with pet food, yet, according to Kate, her house keeper had just cleaned the night before. She had the audacity to tell me that as she walked in on me and my husband cleaning her home. She even blew me off to go load the towels into the dryer. But wait! When we arrived, what really was upsetting, was the horrifying smell of filth/vomit/dirt and animal urine. It was seriously a smell that causes an instant fringe of the nose and a upset stomach. Upon our rental expenses, we bought $175 of plug in air freshners, cleaning supplies, linens and air mattresses. We seriously tried sleeping in her beds, but after waking up because we smudged our face too much into her linens and pillows and ate fur, we preferred to not expose our infants to such atrocity and purchased sheets and air up mattresses as well. This home needs TLC. Oh, and after the awful weekend with the family, we ended up waiting a week and a half to receive only a PARTIAL damage refund because, she said we had too many dirty linens, we had a full 10 gallon trash can of diapers (the only one in her 3000 foot home may I add) and that we left toys in the yard (we didn't even spend much time there), we didn't arrange her furniture properly, after we moved it (was moved to sweep and mop) and she even said we hung underwear on a tree! It's surprising how low people can stoop. But as far as I know, none of that is considered damage. We paid a cleaning fee so she could actually clean after us, but obviously cleaning doesn't necessarily get done. Also, don't be fooled by her "sweet" voice.
I imagine there may be a few of you whom will doubt the truthfulness of my review, but believe me, if this allowed me to post the pictures I took, I would! Now if you are a serious inquirer and would like to see the "quality" of home, email me, I'd be glad to share.
Great house and spacious fenced yard for dogs to run around. Definitely will be top of our list on our next Flagstaff get away.
If you’re looking for a wonderful winter rest, this is the cabin for you! It’s nestled in a quiet neighborhood that butts up to a lovely wooded area, chock-full of Ponderosa Pines and sled worthy hills. With a group of seven, it’s not always easy to please; but this cabin did the trick! Whether you wanted to snuggle with your honey on the couch while watching the fire crackle, take the kiddos out for a snowball fight, let your pups romp around the fenced in back yard (HUGE plus, as it seems like zero cabin owners allow dogs, let alone our big breeds), or simply enjoy solitude on the deck, it was all there. There’s a fantastic claw foot tub in the upstairs bedroom, which was heaven after a cold day at play. The main floor is equipped with a second bedroom, kitchen, second bathroom, and living room (not to mention, that crackling fire). The basement is great for kiddos, as it has a bathroom, pull out couch, daybed, and one set of bunk beds. The owner is great! Anytime I had an inquiry, she was super quick to respond. During the holidays, she has an adorable array of décor to get your seasonal spirits going. We will definitely be back!

I had a lovely time here and would highly recommend it to anyone traveling to the Flagstaff area. The home had everything you need for a comfortable stay. The huge fenced in yard was great for the dogs and there were many great hiking spots close by. Relaxing on the back porch makes you feel like you are sitting up in the pine trees! Stay here...you will not be disappointed!
Lovely chalet in the forest located within minutes of downtown Flagstaff, half an hour to skiing on the mountain or biking in Sedona. Conveniently located off I-17 for easy access to all the best Northern Arizona has to offer!
