This property is located only 10 blocks from the center of Deland, an historic town with a rich culture going back to the Mid 1800’s. It has been voted the Best Small Town in America several times. This property’s location is a block from the city tennis courts and Earl Brown park with a lake with lots of ducks. This is also the location for the annual arts and craft fair and the skate park. Two acres that seem to be in the country although you close to downtown and all of the activities there. With three super nice bedrooms, you have room for your whole family. The front porch is an awesome place to relax in the beautiful Florida weather. The owners, Bill & Erin really thought through what would make guests feel at home and designed this place around that.
Our 4 day stay was nice. The house is very clean and the washer and dryer came in handy, as we did not
have to bring a lot of clothes. It is nice to sit out on the sundeck, and the house is back from the street
giving us privacy. The rooms are spacious and that came in handy with my father who was in a wheel chair. I would definitely stay here again if I happen to be in Deland.
I was very happy with my stay. With 2 little dogs full fence backyard . Felt like I was home open door and away they ran outside with no worries. Owners very responsive to any question or needs while we were there. Slept well comfy bed . See you soon again thank you
Don't let the facade fool you. This house is large on the inside. Large bedrooms, large closets, large living room and a large front and fenced back yard. Hope to be back next year.
The Cedar House was a home away from home for our two month stay in January and February. The house has lots of room and very comfortable. It was nice to have a place that welcomed our cat who travels with us. There is even a fenced in back yard. The owner was very helpful (only a phone call away) and there was even periodic outside lawn maintenance when windy conditions brought down a few small tree limbs, etc. Having wi-fi and a desk was wonderful and a washer and dryer inside was so convenient. The house was a great base for our many daytime birding/hiking activities and seeing the State parks as well as visits with friends in central Florida. DeLand is a lovely little town with lots going on -- great restaurants, shops and more. Do not miss the manatees at Blue Springs and check out the The Old House Cafe if you like home cooked food in a friendly antique home setting. This house and location is convenient and nearby to so much.
This is a lovely home with lots of room, quiet and very comfortable. There is a nice fenced-in backyard for a dog especially, the house was very well out-fitted to meet all our needs and the owner was quite attentive and timely to any problems we had. The location was a great base for exploring DeLand and surrounding areas and really convenient for going further to Daytona Beach or Orlando. We were here for the month of March and had a great holiday, a lot of which was due to having an excellent place to stay.
The Cedar House was our first snowbird experience and proved to be an enjoyable one. If you like privacy, lot's of elbow room, parking for your boat, and a fenced back yard for you family dog, this is the place! Deland is a great little town with lots going on - great restaurants, shops, and entertainment. Don't miss the manatees at beautiful Blue Springs state park. It was just a half hour drive to new Smyrna Beach and Daytona Beach. An hour to Disney. Lots of beautiful scenery and wildlife on the St. Johns river and many lakes nearby. We had a great time! The owners are very accommodating and easy to work with! The main thing for us was that we travel with a family dog and this place was perfect!
Ideal Location: Enjoy the very best of both old and new Florida without living and sleeping in the crowds and noise. From visiting the famous Daytona Beach, kayaking in the St Johns River, taking a trip to Disney or Seaworld, swimming with the Manatees at Blue Springs or Ponce De Leon Springs, renting a House Boat at Hontoon, surfing at New Smryna, choosing between 3 nearby water parks, to strolling Historic Downtown Deland, each day can be a new adventure. Enjoy!
