First of all, cannot thank Melody enough for how quick to respond and accommodating she was working with us to book this property. The pictures do not do this place justice--it is absolutely gorgeous and perfect for a weekend or long getaway in the mountains. It is cozy and clean, well decorated, and the views from the porches are so relaxing and beautiful. We will definitely be back for another getaway as we wish we could have stayed longer!
Our stay in Melody's cabin was WONDERFUL. The cabin itself is absolutely adorable, with 3 amazing porches to take in the mountain views. Melody was also incredibly responsive and helpful during booking and throughout our stay. She also allowed us to bring our dog (for a small pet fee), which was very important to us and is a little difficult to find in a rental. He loved the cabin too. :) Oh, and about a week before our trip, we got a surprise email that they had just added an outdoor hot tub to one of the porches, which was a nice addition.
The town of Blue Ridge is quaint, and only about a 10 minute drive from the cabin (the majority of the drive is spent winding down the mountain on a gravel road). We had dinner at Masseria, which was delicious, and we went to Fannin Brewing Company on Saturday afternoon (after a morning hike). Fannin Brewing had a great outdoor space with live music and tasty beers- highly recommend.
Overall, we had a wonderful weekend in Melody's cabin, and couldn't be happier with the experience. Thanks Melody!
Overall a great experience. Would definitely go back.
My husband, our English Setter and I were seeking a beautiful, relaxed, comfortable escape. We found just that and more in this cabin. Starting with the cerulean blue screen door and the incredible setting on the mountainside, this is an escape; a place to live gently and decompress from daily rigors. It is hard to describe the multi levels of this cabin, the choices of balconies and decks with chairs, chaises and swings to take in the scenic natural beauty that surrounds you. Purchase birdseed to fill the feeders and meet some unique new local friends.
Blue Ridge is a very neat getaway with shopping, restaurants and a gracious helping of Southern Hospitality. There is much to do and see but more than anything, it's is a great place to unwind and relax. Judi, Jim and Jeeves.
I have so many wonderful and awesome things to say about this cabin. My fiancee and I came here for a weekend getaway as a birthday present for him, but I really wanted to stay the entire month. This cabin is the cabin that I want to live in if I ever lived in the mountains of North GA. Everything from the decorations that give this cabin charm, the lights strung through the woods, the kitchen, and the balcony off the bedroom, the fact that there are 3 decks with this cabin (the third bottom-most deck looks new, judging from the wood, and it is a big deck!), and the view! There are other cabins nearby, but far enough to give you space (if you're feeling seclusive), but close enough to get that quiet neighborhood vibe. Since this cabin is built on a ridge, and the balcony/deck side faces the valley and mountains across the way, you get a prime mountain view. It is so beautiful waking up to a sunrise through the mountains because there are windows everywhere. We spent most of our time on the bedroom balcony and in the kitchen (cooking). Even though we brought a lot of our kithen supplies, the kitchen comes stocked with pots and pans, knives (a knife block of chef's knife, bread knife, paring knives, steak knives), utensils (forks, spoons, knives, spatulas, ladle, and some other doo-dads), an electric water kettle (perfect! as we use one at home too), plenty of glassware/cups. Another reviewer commented on not having a mircrowave, but we honestly didn't miss having one or need one.
There is also a little raised bed garden to the side of the cabin which was growing some cabbage, collard greens, asaparagus, mint, sage, lavendar. It is so nice to see a vegetable garden! Makes it feel even more like home. We didn't try any of the veggies since we weren't sure about the protocol of eating someone else's planted veggies at the cabin, but they sure looked good! We also stopped by one place to eat out which is Joe's BBQ in downtown Blue Ridge. It's not a very far drive, so if you're in the mood for some BBQ, check it out!
We are defintely planning on coming back to this cabin (perhaps for my birthday!), and plan on returning any chance we get from now on. Thank you so much, Melody!
My husband and I were very pleased when we first walked into this cabin. It's clean, updated, and overall just a neat place to stay. We both loved all the little touches throughout, and especially the outdoor lighting. We spent most of our time on the balcony off the bedroom, because it had the most beautiful view and comfortable chairs. We have already decided we will return to this cabin in the future!
