Originally an 18th.century farm house built from local stone, overlooking Barleycove beach, Crookhaven harbour and the Islands beyond. Restored by the local architect it offers every modern facility whilst retaining the charm of its origins. The wooden floor and open beamed ceiling on the ground floor accommodate the large open plan living room, dining area and kitchen. The cottage is a cosy and romantic getaway where you can walk for miles through an unspoiled landscape, or visit the neighbouring villages, take a boat to the Islands or just relax, de-stress and listen to the birdsong and the tranquil sound of the sea.

Fabulous spot, gorgeous cottage with amazing views!
We loved every minute of our stay at the Corran cottage, it is in a fabulous location with amazing views. Pure relaxation!
So happy that you enjoyed your stay in our cottage. We are lucky to live in such a beautiful place and are pleased to share it.
Ina + Peter.
Lovely stone cottage with clean, well-organised interior and big french window. Ina and Peter were wonderful and thoughtful hosts. We recommend Corran Beg highly. Thank you for a lovely visit.
We are so glad that you enjoyed our lovely cottage.
We stayed for one week in this beautiful cottage. A perfect location to totally unwind from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Our expectations were exceeded when we arrived. The cottage, gardens buzzing with honeybees gathering pollen from the wild fuscias and butterflies fluttering on the wild flora were wonderful to see. The stunning views of the Atlantic and cliffs are breathtaking, Barley Cove Beach, blue flag, is just a mile away and an easy walk. There are numerous walks from The Cottage for the more adventurous, or you could spend the day in total relaxation taking in the views. Ina & Peter are always on hand if you need them and are the most wonderful hosts.
Crookhaven is just a 10 minute drive away and also stunning with a few good places to eat. We recommend The Crookhaven Inn. Thank you for your wonderful hospitality Ina & Peter it was very much appreciated. We will definitely be returning to this awesome place. We would definitely recommend this Cottage, you will not be disappointed.
Many thanks for your kind words. It is always good to have confirmed the beauty of our place here on Mizen Head. Holidays are so important.
Friendly welcome and stunning views
We came for a weeks' holiday with our two year old daughter. The bedrooms have blackout blinds so ideal for keeping little ones asleep for longer! Ina and Peter gave us a very warm welcome and lots of good suggestions for what to do locally. As ever, West Cork was stunningly beautiful, both in sunshine and rain. The winds can be chilly so pack your woollies, but the private garden is wonderfully sheltered.
Barleycove beach is ideal for toddlers, they can play safely in the estuary without having to brave the waves on the main beach. Crookhaven has some great places to eat which are child friendly. One thing to bear in mind is the cast iron spiral staircase, maybe not suitable for younger or less confident children, but our daughter managed it fine. There are also a few steps and levels in the garden.
The cottage was very clean and has been really nicely finished and everything you need is either there or available to borrow from Peter and Ina. A great beach holiday location if you get the weather, but it would also be a very romantic retreat for a couple who like the great outdoors, good food and a cosy fire to return to in the evenings.
We have just got back from the cottage and wanted to say thank you for letting us stay.
We had a lovely time completely relaxing and taking in the amazing views from the patio.
The cottage is very cosy and has everything you would need for a romantic week away.
We would love to return one day!
The most beautiful spot on earth
We stayed at the cottage April 2007. Unbelievable views!! The cottage is cozy, clean, super-comfortable...absolutely perfect. My husband proposed to me there. What can I say...I will neve forget it.
Located on the Mizen peninsular, the most South Westerly part of Europe, jutting out into the Atlantic Ocean it is one of the most beautiful natural landscapes on the coast of Ireland. It is situated on The Wild Atlantic Way, 12 miles from Schull and 30 miles from Bantry where you can have a round of golf, visit the local markets or take a boat to the Islands and go whale watching. The unspoilt rugged scenery has a profusion of fuscia and woodbine and an abundance of wild flowers. Here you can explore the nearby castles, stone circles and ancient burial tombs or just stroll down to one of the nearby blue flag beaches.
Other Activities: Just relax with your book in front of the wood burning stove.
The only additional charge will be for electricity used during your stay, this is charged according to the meter reading.
