A cross cultural kid; grew up in the USA and Latin America. I take pride in my properties, which I consider a 'cut above' many of the rentals in the area
This is about the best space you will find in the area. It is convenient; upscale, and cheerful.
Like being in a tree house
The property was great for what we needed! We did a long term stay and David's place had everything we needed. The bed was good and he was very attentive to our needs. We are from the area so we loved the walkability to Maine Street and many of our other loved spots.
We rented David's property over Bowdoin's graduation weekend. The location was close to the college, downtown and anywhere we needed to get to. Thus it worked well. We weren't there a whole lot but, we were happy to have a home base. The place was clean, the beds were comfortable which is important to me. There are a few lights in the ceiling that could be dangerous (over the bed nook and dining room table) as they are awful close to our heads. David installed air-conditioners which I was grateful for as it was warm and the outside traffic kept me up. The home is located on a main commuter intersection, hence busy. I also suggest curtains in the stair wall and the bedroom that face the police station to block the light. I like a dark room to sleep. All and all a nice property.
The flat included everything we needed for an enjoyable stay.
Not only was the property within a short drive or walk to the centre of Brunswick with its good range of shops and many restaurants, it was also easy to access the US-1. The local supermarket was within easy walking distance and a handy laundrette was close at hand.
A great base to explore the Maine coast with easy drives to Harpswell, Bath, Boothbay Harbor, Portland and Freeport amongst other places. Check out the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, the Maritime Museum in Bath and in Brunswick itself the Art Gallery in Bowdoin College.
David, the owner, provided great information and answered our questions promptly.
There was a good choice of local restaurants including Joshua's and Henry and Marty.
I stay here every time I come to Brunswick to visit my daughter at Bowdoin. Wonderful clean charming loft space in great location.
My initial impression was that the place was a little shabby, with old lamps, aged carpet and a slightly odd assortment of furniture. However, I strongly recommend this apartment for a number of reasons. Despite first impressions, the apartment was quite clean, sheets were of an excellent quality and smelled fresh. There were plenty of linens, all clean. The kitchen was well equipped and the fridge and sink clean. Only the oven needed cleaning. The bathroom was clean and beds were comfortable. It was a warm comfortable apartment with a charming little deck and windows on all sides made it as bright as you would require. Nevertheless the sloping ceilings of this attic apartment made for a coziness that was charming, especially at night. The internet was trouble-free and the caretaker Sarah was friendly and quickly and cheerfully responsive to questions and needs. There were other occupants in the house but there was almost total silence. The location of the apartment was close to a laundromat, supermarket and about a 15 min walk from both the main town center and Bowdoin College. I enjoyed the reasonable weekly rate at a women's gym across the street from the house.
Both comfortable and beautiful, and with a lot of natural light that I appreciated! Great location - walking distance to many shops and restaurants and a short drive to the CREA nature preserve in Topsham. Highly recommended!
Bowdoin College is walking distance; downtown Brunswick with many ethnic restaurants; beaches, other scenic towns a short drive Laudromat next door.
