we have thousands of Mexican Free-tail bats that emerge at dusk from under our bridge. These bats migrate so they are here seasonally. If you are an Indian artifact collector, please check with owner as to any items found. An incentive relative has strewn fake arrowheads all over the ranch. Our apologies.

Another Relaxing Week

  • 5 of 5

Our second time to stay here and spring break was the perfect time to unplug and enjoy the property and surrounding towns. Loved the new porch fence addition. It was perfect to let the 2 year old run around and pet the goats when we were cooking dinner. Beth always has so much great information on what to do. We visited the Goldthwaite Legacy Plaza for a fun Native American presentation geared to our 6 yo son’s age. Of course hiking at the Colorado Bend State Park is good. Overall, we returned because the property offers so much to do - goats & horses - fishing the creek - hiking - star gazing - and we’ve loved staying.

Owner's Response: Perfect guests. We love having kids get energized about nature. We all grew up going to Grandma’s farm. We hope to be that vacation for the next generation.

a peaceful stopover in hill country

  • 5 of 5

you want to go from Dallas to Austin the long way and want to explore hill country, well this is a perfect option. The cabin was quaint and clean. We only stayed one night and it rained so couldn't really enjoy the fire pit and lounging outside. But we did get greeted by the friendly goats and sheep! It is close to Colorado Bend Park. Great hiking. Bring water though. Closest grocery store is far so provision ahead!

Some kitchen items need updating/fixed (i.e. electric cook top) but otherwise we had a very enjoyable, relaxing break from the cities!

Amazing getaway!

  • 5 of 5

This ended up being one of our favorite family getaways. The kids loved the goats, horses and room to explore so much they cried when we had to leave! Relaxing, comfortable and the owners were very nice and helpful with anything we needed. We will most likely go and stay again.

Quaint little get away

  • 5 of 5

We wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and boy this was the perfect way to do it. Beth and her family are very warm and accommodating.

Each morning we were greeted by the sheep and goats! Oh and the horses! Our daughter was so excited. It was super neat. We we enjoyed every bit of it. I'm so glad that we found this little diamond in the rough. It won't be out last time for sure. Thanks again.

Nice cozy cabin

  • 5 of 5

It was a clean, cozy cabin that had all you needed packed in a comfortable little package. Very friendly goats being led by a sheep that would rub his head against you like a dog. Fire pit was nice on the cool evening. Small window unit was plenty to keep the cabin comfortable. The nice size porch was great for drinking coffee in the morning. The cabin was in a great location, with in 30 minutes of Colorado Bend State Park and within an hour from Inks lake and Long Horn Caverns. Google maps did bring me straight to the cabin.

Great Get-A-Way

  • 5 of 5

Loved the cabin and the location. It was perfect for our trip to Colorado Bend State Park. So fun to be met by the sheep and goats when we came back in. Everything was in good order, and even though we didn't get to meet Beth till the last day, we were in contact with her from the time we arrived. She was a great hostess, offering tips and suggestions when asked. We will recommend to friends and family!
