We have a small family operation inside the gates of Yosemite National Park. I have lived and owned property in the park all my life. I know and love Yosemite. You can call me and I will answer all your questions. We hope you enjoy your stay.
Our party of three stayed at condo B202 in late October. We were very pleased with the process of booking and entry to the unit since it involved no keys that could be lost. The facility was very clean, it was equipped with anything you could possibly need, and there was sufficient convenient parking, including a "ten minute parking" spot for unloading luggage. The beds were very comfortable. The best thing, however, was the location. Henness Ridge Road is only about a half mile from the intersection with the road leading up to Glacier Point, which was our favorite sunset place for our trip, making it very convenient when coming back to the condo for the night. The rest of the attractions in the valley were only a short drive away as well, and a scenic drive at that.
Unit is clean and beds are comfortable - but the fireplace/heat source was not functioning and our October weekend was rainy and cold - would have loved to have the fireplace working. Same problem in previous review happened in Oct 2015. Hair dryer also not working. Would not rent again.
Upon arriving at the condo, we were pleased to find that our accommodations were more than adequate for six adults. As there were two beds in the loft, which comfortably accommodated two couples. Overall, the condo accommodated three couples, and the small kitchenette allowed us to cook a nice meal after a long day of hiking.
If you have a smaller family and want to cook your own meals at the cost of spending more on gas to drive into the valley, I would recommend it over other options in the valley such as camp curry, if you are faced with a situation where those options are booked.
This unit is conveniently located within the park. The unit is small but ideal for a family of 4. The building is a bit dated and is built like an old motel but otherwise in good condition.
When we arrived the password to the WiFi was missing (apparently previous renter had removed the information booklet). So we couldn't access internet for a day. Moreover, since there was no cell reception (as is common in Yosemite), we couldn't contact the owner until the next day to obtain the password.
The fireplace was not functional which was not a big issue in October but could make for an uncomfortable stay in winter.
It's no fault of the owners that the options for dining out and the cell phone service in the area are slim to nil, but it's every credit to them that the unit has everything you need to make breakfast and dinner and, via the trick in the on-site binder, good, reliable wifi. The supermarket in Yosemite village supplied all the ingredients that we'd forgotten for a surprisingly reasonable price. Being friendly enough to share three beds, the five of us were very happy here. We'd have stayed longer if we could have. The owner was gracious in accommodating a last minute change in our plan for the smallest of considerations. What could possibly be better? A hot tub, I guess, for the aching feet but we knew we weren't paying for that. The convenience of a second bathroom? Nope: they already have that.
Location was great and the area quiet, but there was no way to cool down the condo. The screen on the sliding glass door did not fit the opening, and the 3 fans provided for the loft bedroom were inadequate for cooling the area. The ceiling fan was directing the air to the ceiling and when we turned the fan to direct the air downward, handfuls of dust from the fan blades spilled onto the bed covers. Also, the ill fitting screen to the sliding glass door let in bugs including a huge beetle-like bug that landed on my son's face while he was attempting to fall asleep.
This condo may be great for the cooler seasons, but not for the summer months.
We were very happy with the condo which was fully equipped for our family of 5. The kitchen had everything we needed to do our own cooking, including a fridge and pantry.
It was perfect place to come back to at the end of our day hiking in the park; quiet and homey. We were very happy with the location halfway between Wawona and the valley and right near the Glacier Point rd.which made it easy to plan day trips. All the drives were beautiful.
Our hostess was very helpful and prompt in replying to questions as we prepared for our trip and gave excellent directions to the condo so we had no concern about finding it.
One small downside was no AC. I don't mention it as a complaint, but just as a heads up if you are expecting it. Fans are provided in the unit.
