About Allison Paquet

I have lived here in Marquette since 1987 and in this home since 1988...the remodel has been a labor of love, my children have all grown up here as well...I live in the apartment upstairs with my pets...

Allison Paquet purchased this apartment in 1988

Why Allison Paquet chose Upper Peninsula Michigan

I always had the plan to rent my home when my children were grown...this is a lovely city and the location of the home is just blocks away from all that goes on in the city.

Great stay in Marquette

  • 4 of 5

We spent about 9 days here while in Marquette to ski and enjoy the winter. We very much liked the location and the house. Fun and tasteful décor, very serviceable kitchen, great shower. Lamps to read by is an important criteria for us and this place gets an A for enough reading lamps. Walked to most places to eat and shop. The owner and her really cool dog, Oz, live upstairs, and despite having a broken ankle, Allison was a great host and we enjoyed getting to know her (and Oz). My only request would be for dark shades/curtains in the bedroom to block out the street light (otherwise I would have given it 5 stars).

Exceeded our expectations!

  • 5 of 5

We loved this place. We were looking for a rental with a big kitchen and dining area and were not disappointed here. The kitchen was beautifully equipped with everything I could ask for to complete family-sized meals and the dining room had plenty of seating. We were able to grill steaks outside for our Christmas Eve dinner. The entire home is remodeled and well maintained. Allison was great as a host/owner. The location is in an area of Marquette that we love to hang out in. We will return to this rental and would definitely recommend this property to family or friends.

An elegant and relaxing setting- Highly recommend

  • 4 of 5

These are a few of the attractions of this home:

-Beautiful courtyard outside of the elegant patio doors

-Pull out couch is comfortable with it's memory foam on it

-Bathroom shower is small but distinctive

-Kitchen is up to date in all ways with very nice dining room

-Location is near the Lake which was our focus in addition to being downtown.

Would definately stay there again

Beautiful, warm and inviting!!!

  • 5 of 5

This place is amazing. My husband and I stayed here while on our honeymoon. This place is cozy and beautiful. It was nice to stay at a home away from home. We also had the pleasure of meeting Allison and chit chatting with her. She was very nice and helpful on what to do around town and what was within walking distance of the house. Oz is great too! He is cute and very friendly. He also likes to play fetch and he is accurate at catching the ball. We had a wonderful time. I highly recommend this place. If you are looking for a vacation and want a home away from home, this is the place.

The house and yard were beautiful!

  • 4 of 5

It was such a pleasure to be able to cook meals in the beautiful, clean kitchen. I have many foods that I have to avoid and this made my life so much easier. The items available to cook with were very adaquit. I was very pleasantly surprised on the restaurants that could accommodate me, Sweet Water Creek, Babycakes coffee house (I recommend the chai tea latte and the gluten free muffins!) and the food co op were my favorite places! Allison answered our questions and was very pleasant to deal with. Everything you need was supplied in the home. My husband enjoyed cooking on the grill, and relaxing in the cozy yard. The home was centrally located to downtown, Lake Superior, NMU, and shopping. We felt like we were at home! The bathroom was small, but the rest of the rooms were very nice size. If we have the chance to go back we would stay here again. We have told many people about our great stay and recommend they give Allison and Marquette a try for their next trip!
