Just Like Home

  • 5 of 5

For the last several years, we have used vacation rental homes almost exclusively when we travel. We just stayed for a week in Ben Zook's rental property in Loganton, PA. It is by far the cleanest, neatest house in which we have ever stayed, and is decorated with simple elegance that made it feel "just like home". The house is located in a beautiful valley. We took rides every day, and never tired of observing the neat and prosperous farms that dot the entire countryside. From comfortable chairs on the front porch, we relaxed every morning with a cup of coffee and watched the daily life and commerce in this busy little rural town.

When we arrived, we were thrilled to find a loaf of home baked bread, Amish donuts, local produce, Amish noodles, and cheese waiting for us on the kitchen counter, all provided by our host. Using all of these delicious items and the cookware and utensils from the well stocked kitchen, we enjoyed some good meals. The Country Store right next door was a great source for needed supplies.

When we contacted Ben with some personal requests, he responded quickly and positively.

If anyone has a need for temporary housing in central Pennsylvania, you could never find a nicer property or a more gracious host. You would not be disappointed. This is definitely a 5 star vacation home.

The perfect spot for our busy celebration weekend!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this property for a Mother's Day weekend and to attend my husband's Master's Degree graduation at Penn State. The house was clean and had a nice welcoming feel to it. It was a good size and accommodated our family of 6 without feeling small. We really enjoyed sitting on the porch and seeing the Amish buggies go by. The kitchen was ready for any meal that we could have wanted to fix but since it was Mother's Day weekend I did my best not to use it! Ha! That being said it was nice having the country store close by. They make really great sandwiches which we took with us on our outing to Penn's Cave. We also checked out the Amish market down the street which the kids found really interesting. Make sure to eat at the Twilight Diner up the road from the house, we ate there for dinner and breakfast. The food was good, the place was cute and the wait staff was really friendly. I loved how "local" it felt. I liked being in the heart of the small town of Loganton. It is a beautiful area.

The hosts were great. I appreciate how patient they were with us when we got held up in traffic coming up from the DC area. I also appreciate all the little extras that were left for us. Thank you for your hand in making our weekend one that we will remember for a lifetime. I would stay here again in a heartbeat and would recommend this property to friends.

Very Nice

  • 5 of 5

Our house burnt on January 2nd and we needed a temporary place to live. This apartment is very nice and has everything you need. The owner was good to us and we wouldn't hesitate to rent from him again if the need arose.

A step out of time!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the Loganton House as a reprieve from all the Holiday Hustle...and it was just what we were looking for. The house was comfortable and convenient. Especially liked the washer/dryer after the rain! We hiked in spectacular Ravensburg State Park when the sun came out and watched the Amish go by in their horse drawn buggies from the front room when the rain started. Loganton House was a warm and comfortable place for our "get away" weekend. Ben was welcoming at our arrival, answered our questions and made sure we felt he was available if we needed him.
