We are pleased that you are interested in our home away from home. We have lived on the island for years and live close to town so we would be able to avail ourselves if you need to make your stay more comfortable. I have worked in the hotel industry for years in different capacities. I was an executive housekeeper so I understand the standard of cleanliness. I am an artist. I have been a handyman and renovation contractor for the hotels for years. I renovate all of our own units.

We did a few years of research searching out a condominium that had an above average reputation, built well, great location close to the beach. We picked the right place! The management company is excellent, security guards are friendly and helpful and do a great job. The condo is a secured building, has a great swimming pool, laundry facility, parking, 2 blocks from the beach. We have above average compliments from our guests about the quality of our vacation condos, the surrounding staff, clean rooms and above service from our family business. Great Family 3BR Ocean View -2 minutes from the Waikiki Beach - The condo is located in the heart of Waikiki. It is only 1.5 block (2 minutes) to the Waikiki beach and walking distance to all the restaurants, shops including Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center and the Duty-Free shopping center (DFS), New shopping center "Saks Fifth Avenue" is 5 minutes and the grocery store " Food Pantry" is only one 4 minutes walk away. A Bus stops is in front of the building that can take you to any destination, whether you want to hike Diamond Head, Snorkel at Hanauma Bay, explore North Shore, visit the historic Pearl Harbor or go clubbing on Hotel Street in Chinatown or do more shopping at Waikele Outlets or Beautiful Ala Moana Mall. Our mixed family group of Aussies and Kiwis stayed here and everyone was very happy with the accomodation. Everything was provided including some very useful beach gear. The views are great and we loved sitting out in our lanai watching the surfers. It's also very handy to the beach, the bus, the shops, and restaurants. Hopefully we will come back to Hawaii and this is definitely where we will be staying. Thanks Gary.
Good location and size, but needs some upgrading
This condo was a good size with enough rooms for my family of adult children (me plus 3). That and the location were the best things about this condo. None of us are beach goers so we didn't use all of the beach gear but the condo seemed well equipped in that regard. I don't know Hawaii real estate but we found this condo a bit depressing compared to all of the VRBO houses and condos that we've rented in other locations. Highlights were the view from the lanai, easy walking distance to restaurants/shops/beach and the new kitchen counter and appliances. Things I would fix if it were my place: more effective air conditioning (or at least more than 1 little fan), better lighting in shower/bath area, shower door that completely closed, more than 1 bar of soap for a condo with 3 sinks, better pots and pans (the one I used had a broken handle), new curtains. With relatively little money spent this place could be nicer. I have no Hawaii frame of reference so readers keep that in mind.
Perfect Hawaiian Holiday Home
I travelled to Hawaii from Australia with my parents, auntie and uncle who are in their 60s and 70s and we needed a place to stay big enough for 5 adults and close walking distance to all the main attractions. We couldn't have asked for a better place - the apartment was a great size, secure, very clean and fully equipped from kitchen utilities to beach towels. It had everything we needed. And with Food Pantry just a minute or so walk away, we were able to buy food and cook in the apartment rather than eating every meal out. It was just a short 2 minute stroll to Waikiki Beach and there is plenty of transport including the trolley to Ala Moana Shopping Centre right outside the doorstep.
We enjoyed everything about this apartment including it's convenient location, sharing food around the large dining table and sitting out on the main balcony of an evening enjoying the ocean views and warm Hawaiian breeze.
This was my 3rd visit to Oahu and my first time staying at Gary's holiday apartment. I have no doubt I'll be back and I'll definitely stay here again and I highly recommend it to others.

Great Apartment for a Great Price
Aloha, We are a adult family of four on our third holiday to Ohau and our second stay in one of Gary's apartments. Already planning our return next year, and we know where we will be staying. Great apartments in the best location. Set back from the road so minimal road noise. Within 5 minutes walk to beaches, shops and restaurants. Great parking available for our rental car. We were a group of 5 and we found the apartment met all our needs and we were more than happy with everything and will definitely be returning. We will highly recommend the apartment to our Australian friends and colleagues.
The pool area was perfect for relaxing with plenty of lounges chairs (no hassling for a lounge chair like the big resorts). Also the bus stop was straight out the front - bus #8 straight to the Ala Moana Centre. It was only a 5 minute walk to the centre of Waikiki.

Family of 6 with a tight budget ... VERY HAPPY!
After years of savings, this summer was the summer to make good on my 23 year promise and bring my family of 6 to Oahu to see Hawaiian history and to meet their uncle. However, I found it very difficult to locate something within our budget for housing; I needed 5 beds, near Waikiki, and access to the beach. After eliminating multiple hotel rooms due to cost and places on the far side of the island due to distance, I ran across Gary's Hawaii Vacation Rentals. In short, it was a blessing. Our room was half the cost of the hotel room, a straight 4 min walk to the beach, private parking, a secured lobby, and on top of a well-known restaurant. The condo security personnel were overwhelmingly polite and helpful. We woke up to a perfect top floor view of Waikiki beach waking up. The sun was at our backs at all times so we never had a heated patio or glares to deal with. The family took in night swims at the beach after the daily tourist left, we enjoyed the convenience of the ABC stores right on the corner, and based all our daily trips with no stress. This place was clean, light, well maintained … it was perfect for us. Merry was our point person to work with in arranging our stay and making sure our needs were met; she never missed a beat and made the process so easy and pleasurable we won’t be looking for anyone else to work with in the future. My family and I cannot say enough about the location, the price, and the people at Gary's Hawaii Vacation Rentals. Thank Merry!
