The owners were wonderful and very helpful!!
Anything that was needed i would ask them got a immediate response and always available.... Apt was very welcoming and very cozy would stay again!! I recommend this place for all:) Thank you!!
The booking of the apartment from my Home in Milan Italy was smooth. I got in contact with Mark on Phone and confirm all was okay and ready. I inquired about a washer for clothes and he confirmed not in the apartment. Since i have 4 children and a Baby and my wife. However, on arrival this was easily resolved as there were places around for bulk clothes washing at a very affordable fee. We arrived New York about 7.30pm and contacted Mark from the Airport. Good environment, safe and peaceful community. Majorly a Jewish community but nice and calm people.
On getting there, we waited some few minutes and the house key was passed to us from the apartment at the Bottom since we took the apartment at the Top. The night while checked in, me and wife located a Grocery shop just like two blocks away on Main st but noticed it was abit expensive. The next day we were able to locate other grocery shops along Main Street with affordable prices at good walkable distance say 5 to 10 minutes maximum. We were able to cook our meals in the apartment. Fridge for storage was big enough.
I spent 7 nights there with my family. The sofa at the Living room was good as it was convertible to a Bed at night. Mark was available the next day and got the cable TV modem replaced since the initial was not booting.
If you are coming from outside America try to get a Sim/phone without a contract at the Airport. My phone was on roaming and was really expensive to keep up with calling within town or otherwise go use the phone boot (not good especially when it is cold and windy)
Generally it was good for me and my family. I would not hesitate to book this apartment if i am to visit New York again.
Location was great as it was near friends and family we were there to visit in Queens. Uber was the best method of transportation to get anywhere. 10 minutes if that to Forest Hills which would be the most desirable area with lots of shops/restaurants. The size of the property was perfect for ourselves and my mother-in-law with the 2 bedrooms. The living room was not well laid out so we re-arranged the furniture to make it a more social environment (hope they left it that way). Hard to figure out the TV; no real instructions. There were no lights of Manhattan as described (not that it mattered to us) nor was the bathroom a "spa like" environment... just basic with a rainforest shower head. Perhaps that was the spa part. No soap other than hand soap provided. Kitchen was a great spot for both dining and using any laptops. Unfortunately when we arrived there was 1 glass available to drink from and I believe 6 mugs and that was it for drinking. When asked about it, the reply was "there should be 8" which makes me wonder how often in between guests they check these things out. I guess wine glasses are not needed. ?? Corningware type plates were available as well as cutlery & coffee pot. No facecloths but lots of towels. Beds were very comfortable and we all slept well. Place was clean. Quiet area and Kosher everything in walking distance which made it very interesting in a good way for us. Keep in mind many stores will be closed on Saturday in the area. 7-Eleven - about 2 blocks away was closest for something quick to stock up with at any time and everything in Forest Hills is business as usual. Our contact Mark was quick to respond and offered us plastic glasses while we waited for real ones that never came. We feel he mustn't be the owner but someone who manages the suite as best he can. Ultimately, we would consider renting again but also feel it would take very little for the owner to upgrade the suite with amenities that anyone could enjoy. (glasses, facecloths, bath mat, ice cube trays... which we bought & left).
The property owner was great and easy to deal with. We had a little heater issue at first, but the owner took care of it immediately. The location is great. There was street parking and it's a quiet clean neighborhood. The apartment is a great size and it was clean. You can hear squirrels from time to time running around in the attic, but you are completely blocked off from them. The listing description is accurate. My family will definitely be staying here again when visiting New York. Note: If you don't have a vehicle you will have to walk to a bus stop and take it to the Subway to get around New York. There are stores and restaurants close by.
very quite neighborhood with a plenty of things to do around
