Situated in a small residential complex with swimming pool, Las Dunas 9 is an extremely pretty, semi-detached property with a pink and cream façade, bordered by flowers and plants in a quiet setting on the sea front in El Medano.
The top floor is dedicated exclusively to two good sized bedrooms, each with built-in wardrobes, French doors opening out onto a balcony and each with en-suite bathroom. Enjoy a wonderful sunset while relaxing on comfortable reclining chairs from the balcony of the master bedroom which also enjoys ocean views.
Marble stairs lead downwards towards a cloak-room, lounge and kitchen.
The kitchen in Las Dunas 9 is well equipped with fridge/freezer, oven, hob, dish washer, extractor, microwave, kettle, toaster, etc.
The cupboards are well equipped for clients who prefer to eat in.
The rest of the ground floor is dedicated to the lounge/dining area.
With patio windows on two walls this is a bright room.
In front of the lounge there is a porch with BBQ and eating corner
I am a 50 something scot, who, after 16 years of holidaying in El Medano moved here permanently to live the peaceful life in the sun; 17 years later here I still am happy and proud to be able to offer a truly pretty , clean and comfortable home to others.
Pauline Martinez purchased this villa in 2000
With my mum we were surprised by the quality building standards 'Tito' employed in Las Dunas. We lived just 20 metres away, already loved the area, and decided that it would be a shame not to buy this extremely pretty house, situated directly opposite the ocean, adding it to our port folio of rental properties
Having recently returned from a wonderful break in Tenerife, I would like to thank Mrs Martinez for making our stay so pleasant and comfortable in her house in EL Medano
The property was impeccably clean, freshly painted throughout, with comfortable beds. It was so nice to awaken to the sound of the waves gently breaking on the beach just opposite the house.
We greatly appreciated having a full bathroom in each bedroom, with the added bonus of a toilet downstairs.
Everything was in perfect working order, a good WIFI connection, well equipped kitchen (my wife was happy to find a dish-washer..), washing machine was handy.
In the evening we dined on the terrace, often using the barbecue.
The kids LOVED Siam Park and the Karting
All in all a brilliant family trip, we shall repeat.
We stayed in this property for 14 nights. It was perfect for our needs, A clean and spacious property with lovely sea views from the balcony and patio. The bedrooms were good size and each room had an en-suite. It is situated slightly outside of El Medano but this was fine as it was good to walk to and from the town in the evening to have our meal and drinks. Definintely worth a stay and the manager was very helpful and welcoming. Lovely holiday!
We stayed with 5 persons (2 adults and 3 kids 16,15 and 5) in August 2010 in Las Dunas 2. The house is very nice and clean. Especially good is that each bedroom has its own bathroom. During our stay we had haevy winds so that with our smallest kid we could not often go to the beach, which was very individuel and a little separated. But the pool in Las Dunas was compensating all.
During our stay we had a rental car which is recommendable. We did lovely trips to many places and especially to Teide. But also the Loro Park and the Siam park should be visited with kids, although these parks are litte expensive.
The kitchen is fully equipped and modern. However we went often out for dinner to Medano, Golf del Sur and Los Americas were we found very nice restaurants with reasonable prices (little bit cheaper then in Germany were we are from).
Finally we want to thank for Pauline for her nice and personal service.
As summery we can really recommend Las Dunas for a great family holiday.
We, a (German) couple and two children (11 & 16 years) had a great time at Pauline's house "Las Dunas". The house is spacious, there are two lovely bedrooms, each with an own bathroom, and an extra toilet halfway upstairs from the living-room/kitchen and terrasse level. We surely appreciated the barbecue in the garden and used it for our New Years Eve dinner. But we enjoyed the view of the pool only though, it didn't seem to be heated and wasn't inviting to dive into the cold water.
Also, the place is well equipped and Pauline has been very friendly and helpful with information and advice. I had been to Medano before, so the planes starting from the nearby airport that cross the house in the air were no surprise - and it happens not as often and loudly as one might think. This disadvantage on one side is compensated by the village of El Médano on the other. There are very nice places to eat out and the whole place is by far not as "touristy" and commercial as Los Cristianos or Playa de los Americas.
There are only two reasons why I can't give the house five stars: 1. There was a permanent light smell of sewer coming up from the basement; 2. - A very individual and personal reason: I didn't like the neighbourhood too much - so many quickly built houses, looking all the same and many of them obviously not inhabited - a bit like a ghost town and quite far away from the village center; no possibilities to buy bread or anything else in the morning in walking distance, a pity.
But in the house there's enough space to store food - as the fridge in the kitchen is a bit small, there's a second, big one, in the basement. A big advantage is also the dishwasher and the washing machine. There's also a hairdryer and (almost) anything one might need...
We definitively enjoyed our stay.
El Medano is a quiet fishing village in south Tenerife between Candelaria and Los Cristianos. Well loved by Tinerfenos, the beach in El Medano is the longest natural sandy beach on the island. El Medano has two protected mountains, one on either side of the village. On the right Montana Roja, on the left Montana Pelada. Las Dunas is to be found 3 minutes walk from Montana Pelada which houses a pretty sandy beach at its base. This beach is little known to tourists. In the village small shops and restaurants abound. Typical Canarian cuisine alongside more international flavours. Proximity to the main roads makes exploring easy, be it Teide, Santa Cruz or Los Gigantes, all accessible in 1 hr. Windsurfing is the predominant sport in El Medano. Cabezo Beach gets big waves whilst Playa Sur is much more protected. Canoeing, snorkelling, kite surfing, body boarding, swimming or just lazing around in the sun, El Medano offers it all in a friendly, mainly Spanish atmosphere.
