We are from Phoenix and have lived in the valley for over 30 years. After retreating to Flagstaff year after year, we decided to purchase a property and figured it would be nice to share the property with others, perhaps even Phoenicians similar to us!
We are very experienced Grand Canyon backpackers as well. So, if you have any questions about where to hike or how to plan a Grand Canyon backpacking adventure, or just a day hike in the Grand Canyon, we are happy to share our insight!
Cory Davidson purchased this cabin in 2013
We spend a lot of our time outdoors and we could not find a more perfect location than this property. Sitting on 2.5 acres, we can be home in a matter of a few minutes from a day on the slopes or on the trails.
The home itself it very unique, one of a kind! Hardwood oak floors, natural hardwood exposed ceilings, wood burning stove (yet still with full A/C and heat), wrap around deck. Convenient access to the highway, especially useful during winter, but still secluded enough on 2.5 acres to feel quiet and peaceful at night.
The home was built very specifically to trap the day's warm temperatures with it's floor to ceiling south facing windows. On a cold winter 30 degree day, the temperature indoors will often rise to 70 degrees without the use of the heater or wood burning stove. Very unique!
We enjoyed staying in this home. It's just far enough out of town to feel like you're in the woods but a short drive to everything in Flagstaff. We were escaping the Phoenix heat and had such a wonderful time. There's a lot to do in Flagstaff in the summer!. The house was comfortable, we had more than enough room, spent a lot of time out on the deck and even had a couple of early morning fires in the wood burning stove! We cooked most of our meals and only needed to bring a few things from home.
Great location, lots of room and great price for a month long rental in summer in Flagstaff!
I booked this place for my friend's visit during the Memorial Day holiday, the owner was fantastic!! Always very responsive to all questions we had before the arrival. I didn't stay in this beautiful house due to my schedule, but my friends loved it! And it is very convenient to Grand Canyon. Definitely will stay again next time!
Excellent location on the outskirts of town with easy access to major roads . We explored the Grand Canyon, Sedona, Page , lava river cave ( take extra headlights or flashlights), and went to Pheonix! So much to do couldn't fit it all in.
The home as super clean with everything you need for linens and kitchen. Views and morning sunrise over the mountain are outstanding. Master deck perfect for hordevors and sunsets. Perfect location if you are skiing although we ran out of time for that. Beds are soooo comfortable with lots of extra space for living room pullout and master futon if needed. Wood burning fireplace is cozy . Be sure to hit Oreganos in town ( make reservations it's ALWAYS busy)and the Ski Lift lodge @ the base of Snowbowl road for chicken pot pie!
We didn't want to leave!!!
Thank you Cory for an excellent , no hassle trip!!!

For some awesome fotage of the property!
The accommodations were great. The cabin was located just outside of Flagstaff with a fantastic view. It is close to grocery stores, restaurants, etc. but still in the woods. It was a great place to stay and explore all the Flagstaff area has to offer. We enjoyed visiting the Grand Canyon but really enjoyed more visiting the other National Monuments, Sunset Crater etc., around Flagstaff. They were a lot more intimate. We expect to be back, there is much more to explore.
We had a great stay over a weekend in January to let our kids play in the snow. The place was nice and well stocked-minus some paper towels but no big deal. Owners were very responsive via text message throughout the stay. Our daughter left one of her dolls at the home by accident and the owners shipped the doll back to us at no cost, even though we offered to reimburse! Hopefully we'll be back again in the future.
This house was great! We were lucky enough to arrive after a fresh snowfall. The house had a beautiful snow covered field in the back that my daughters loved playing in. We were about 2 hours from the Grand Canyon, an hour and a half from Sedona, 1 hour from Meteor Crater, and thirty minutes from Walnut Canyon. The only thing I regret is not coming through Sedona from Phoenix so we could discover this beautiful scenic drive earlier. There are so many things to do that we could not fit everything in and this house was the perfect base camp for it all. It was clean and had everything we needed.
