This is a light and airy apartment in a fabulous position, just behind the lovely and central Campo San Barnaba in Dorsoduro, five minutes walk from the Accademia Bridge. The apartment is on two floors (duplex) and has been newly and carefully restored. It is second and third floor (no lift) and has nice views and partial views of the Grand Canal. It has original features, beamed ceilings and Venetian flooring. 85/90 square metres. It is composed of 2 double bedrooms (one can be divided in twins), two bathrooms (one with tub and one with shower), a mansardine with two fold out single beds, a living/dining area, a fully fitted kitchen and a large terrace. Air conditioning in the living area and in the mansardine, washing machine, TV, independent heating, terrace.
We could not have been happier with our accommodations in this lovely apartment and with the arrangments for transport from VCE to the apartment by the water taxi.
The description and the pictures of the apartment are absolutely accurate, but even they do not go far enough in describing how perfectly situated in the Dorsoduro the apartment is and how nicely appointed – right down to flower vases, an espresso maker and the dishwasher and washing machine. We were literally a 5 minute walk from the Accademia Bridge through picturesque narrow Calles and probably 6 minutes from the Zattere at a slow meander. Cafe's and restaurants abound in and around the Campo San Barnabus - a 2 minute stroll and more in the Campo San Margarita another 2 minutes away. Grocery stores are very convenient in San Margarita (Punto or Coop) and on the Zattere (Bilo) and the best gelato at Grum is that 2 minutes away.
We stayed during the Festa Redentore - the third weekend in July and were able to see the majority of the fireworks in the San Marco basin from the roof terrace, after a long multicourse meal prepared with fresh ingredients from the Rialto markets and the green grocery barge moored along the canal at Campo San Barnbus at the Ponte dei Pugni.
Thank you Filippo for a wonderful introduction to Venezia, we are forever spoiled for mere hotel accommodations. We have recommended your apartment(s) to all our friends and my only hesitation in submitting such a great review on the internet is that the apartment may not be available the next time we want to come to Venice. But I'll guess I'll have to take my chances.
Once again thank you.

I am so happy that we found this apartment, out of the hundreds that are available. It was perfect for our family, and gave us the feeling of really living in Venice, if only for a few nights. From the beginning, the owner was extremely helpful. He actually manages many more apartments, so has a staff available to help out. They arranged water taxis for us, met us at the apartment, showed us the best places to eat and shop, told us how to get around.
The apartment itself is located at the back of a small courtyard, and up a few flights of steps. The pictures are all accurate, but don't do the apartment justice. Especially amazing are the views from the rooftop deck and out the windows, watching boats go by in the small canals.
The beds are all very comfortable. The linens beautiful. The apartment was spotless. The AC worked everywhere. The kitchen has everything you'd need (though we didn't cook once). We just loved it.
The photos do not do this apartment justice, as it is prettier, brighter and much larger than they show. My husband, daughter and I spent 12 of the most wonderful vacation days of our lives in this charming building in the serenity of the Dorsoduro section of wonderful Venice. Filippo and Rachele of Views on Venice made the rental arrangements and the arrival and departure so easy and so gracious. The apartment is perfect for families, as it has 2 floors. The entire top floor is an attic garret with high ceilings, so there is room galore for a group to spread out and chill. The ancient wood beamed ceilings and terrazzo patterned flooring create an authentic Venetian living experience. We loved the convenient location, so close to the C'a Rezzonico vaporetto stop for cruises up and down the Grand Canal to different areas of Venice to explore. There’s a very short walk to the one and only remaining floating fruit and vegetable vender in the city and nearby supermarket, making it so easy to stock up on food and beverages (a huge selection of Prosecco!) Campo San Barnaba with several stellar restaurants, a great bakery and a café is a 3 minute walk away, and we spent many happy evenings visiting the many cafes and restaurants in lively Campo Santa Margherita, again just minutes away by foot. Questo appartamento era perfetto!
This is a really nice apartment. We stayed as a family of four for five nights in summer. It was very well situated and the roof terrace was superb. The air conditioning was good and very welcome. No problems with the flat at all and the management was relaxed and friendly. The roof terrace appears in a James Bond film! All in all we highly recommend it and the area is quiet and far enough away from the crowds (but near enough to the main sights) to rank as a very good place to stay. Stairs to the roof terrace are steep, so be careful.
Danke Mr.Gaggia !!
The apartment was all we could have wished for - comfortable, well equipped, warm and characterful with lovely views all around. The lantana roof terrace was spectacular and we were able to use it even in November. Our hosts were charming and went out of their way to make us feel welcome and to give us useful information about the apartment and the area. We liked Dorsoduro very much and found it easy to get about - a mobile phone was useful for satellite navigation of the small lanes and backwaters. We hope to stay there again in the not too distant future. Thank you for a memorable stay in beautiful Venice.
