Perfect location in friendly Italian village
We had a wonderful 10 days in this charming property. Vincenzo and Concetta responded quickly and in detail to all our pre-trip questions and greeted us on arrival with mozarella, tomatoes, olive oil and limoncello! They were also extremely helpful and considerate throughout our entire stay (on one occasion, the lights fused due to a heavy - and unseasonal - thunderstorm, yet Vincenzo responded to our request for help within 30 minutes and managed to get the problem sorted for us the same evening). The house is located down a small side street and the accommodation is simple, yet comfortable. The 'wow' moment comes when you step out onto the terrace at the back, with its panoramic view over the beautiful Italian countryside. You can see for miles and we took picture after picture of the constantly changing sunsets. The property is ideal for a family (it can sleep up to 5) or a couple and we found it to be a great base for our holiday and a lovely place to come back to at the end of each day. Everyone we met in the village was friendly and kind (on one occasion, someone we'd never met turned up on the doorstep with a huge bag of apricots). The local shop was a real bonus too and we were able to buy most of what we needed there at reasonable prices. There are no restaurants in the village itself, but the nearest seaside town is Agnone, just a short (5km) drive away, where there's a small but attractive beach and a promenade that has a number of friendly cafes and restaurants. Also within easy reach by car are the medieval village of Castellabate, the beautiful harbour at San Marco and, in the opposite direction, the slightly larger Acciaroli, with an open-air market every Monday morning (perhaps other days too, but we only went there on a Monday). If you are looking for an authentic taste of Italian village life that is a little off the usual tourist trail then this is ideal. We'd love to pay another visit some time!

"We have trully enjoyed our stay at this place. Provided you accept the fact that your own transport is a must you will enjoy the tranquility, breathtaking views or romantic sunsets. In all significant standards the description reflects the genuine state."
(Text automatically translated) Take the A3 Salerno-Reggio Calabria, exit Battipaglia. Continue on SS18 for 30 km towards Agropoli, and exit at "Agropoli Sud". When you reach a roundabout, turn left on SR Acciaroli former SS 267. Continue for about 30 km along the coast to Agnone. At the junction, turn left and follow the signs to Cosentini Cilento.
Cosentini C.to, like the sorrounding towns, is friendly, full of traditions as it is witnessed by the Museum of the rural culture in Ortodonico. Life is marked by the slow rythms of the seasons and you can taste the products of this land offered by both a lot of local producers and two bar - restaurants in the town. In Fornelli there is a small confectionary industry where you can taste the white fig DOP of the Cilento , particularly from September to December; there are also a lot Extra virgin olive oil ( DOP) producers . From June to October a lot of festivals take place for the rediscovery of the Commune and of the Cilento, particularly on the occasion of patronal festivals. During the Easter time you can attend the holy Friday cerimonials, practised by the Brotherhoods of each village, following a rite unchanged for centuries. The wonderful temples of the old Greek town Paestum are very close ( less than 30 Km); the local farms produce " mozzarelle" DOP, made of cow buffalo milk ; you can visit the archaeological excavations of the Greek town Velia, the towns of Agropoli and Castellabate with their typical historical centres. In a single day you can reach the Certosa di Padula, the biggest in Italy, the old village Roscigno Vecchio, the caves of Castelcivita and Pertosa, and Capo Palinuro. Pompei and the gorgeous Amalfi coast and Capri, which can be reached during the Summer months by ferries which leave from the near ports.
