A great location to be able to enjoy the city of Rouen. The transport to and from the train station was really appreciated and the welcome gifts a wonderful surprise. The apartment has everything you need to be comfortable. Fabienne was responsive to our enquiries and when we arrived, Patrick gave us a quick run down on the location of amenities. Happy to recommend the apartment to anyone looking for a short term stay in Rouen.
This was out first visit to France and to Rouen. We arrived by car and parked in the metered parking lot only about 25 meters from the door to the gated courtyard for the apartment. The owners Patrick and Fabienne Gazier were there to great us before we got out luggage from the car. They were most gracious and helpful in showing us the features of their clean spacious and quiet apartment as well as taking us on a walk to explain the neighborhood, the best markets, restaurants, banking etc.
We enjoyed this apartment very much, it features a well equipped kitchen featuring a large refrigerator and freezer, dishwasher, and plenty of flatware and cookware, a separate dining area, a living area with sofa, tables and TV, DVD etc. It has a large separate bedroom with desk, large shutter equipped windows for ventilation that open to the private courtyard from both the bedroom and living room. There is also a washing machine, clothes drying rack, ironing board and clothes iron and a private little courtyard with table just off the kitchen. The bath has a tub/shower with plenty of fast hot water.
This apartment is in the heart of the charming old town with both walking streets and the famous Abby of St Ouen where Joan of Arc was condemned only a minutes walk from the front door. The Notre Dame Cathedral and the Joan of Arc historical places are only a few minutes walk as well.
We also decided to leave our car in Rouen and walked to the Rive Droit train station for a day trip to Paris rather than stay in Paris itself on this visit.
We could not have been more pleased with the apartment, its gracious owners, Patrick and Fabienne, the lovely neighborhood and the city of Rouen itself. We liked it so much we extended our stay here by two days as the apartment was not booked for the additional time.
We had a five star experience here and will recommend the apartment, its owners, the neighborhood and the city itself to visitors.
We are a couple in our early 70's from the USA on the 5th day of our first visit to France when we stopped in Rouen to stay here.
The owner was very welcoming, he picked us up at the station when we arrived and gave us a lift back at the end of our visit. The apartment was exactly as descibed on Homelidays. It is in an ideal location, close to all amentities and the centre of Rouen. It was very clean and comfortable.
We enjoyed our stay in this little apartment in Rouen. The owners were very helpful & while the building is very old the apartment has been tastefully renovated with all that you need. Location is perfect as you can walk to the old town in minutes plus the main Rouen market, supermarket & lots of different food shops.
The only issue is parking if you have a car. You have to cruise the nearby streets looking for a car spot which can take some time.
"I stayed at this flat for almost two weeks and I loved that's it big, both bedroom and living room. Kitchen has everything you need to cook. The only thing I didn't like that living room had a 'specific' smell and internet service was bad all the time, accept for the few first days.
It's quiet and I loved that bathroom had a bath tub."
