(Text automatically translated) In a building of the 17th century and lived Prosper Merimee, atypical apartment of 45 m2 with kitchen overlooking courtyard garden, large living room with stone walls and beamed ceiling, bedroom 16 m2 souplex and desk
My husband and I just returned from our stay and we had a terrific time. The apartment is very quaint and has a lot character. Needs a little TLC, but it was perfect for us. It has a kitchen, but we never did utilize it, because we went out every night to eat. The bathroom is quite small. There is a washing machine, but no clothes dryer, however there is a drying rack to dry your clothes on. It worked well for us. It is in a fabulous area, with a lot of restaurants literally right around the corner. It's a very lively neighborhood, so the festivities go on until well after midnight. It did not bother us in the slightest. We thought it was great! In the bedroom, unless you have the window open up on the landing, you really don't hear any of the noise.
Lionel met with us when we arrived and showed us the apartment and gave instructions on how to use the TV and access the apartment via the alley through the courtyard in back. He pointed us in the direction of the Metro and recommended a few places right there by the apartment, which I am sad to say, we never got a chance to try. Very nice man! He has a binder put together with info on the apartment and some of the recommended restaurants in the area.
We used the Metro the whole time we were there. The only day we used a Taxi, was the day we were leaving, to take us to the airport. It was about 60 Euros. The Metro is just a very short walk away and is the easiest and cheapest way to get around Paris. We were pros at it after 2 weeks.
There is a great little café by the Pantheon, called La Creperie - 12 rue Soufflot, 75005 Paris, France. It is a very short walk from the apartment. Also, if you have never been to Paris or have never visited Angelina's, it is a must; Even if you just go for the hot chocolate and dessert ( that is what most of the people are doing). There is always a line going outside the door, but it moves quickly. It is right by the Tuileries Garden on the north side off of Rue de Rivoli.
By the way, we felt very safe in Paris, and never had any incidents. The French people were wonderful and very kind. If you try to speak just a little French, it goes a long way!
Our Favorite Places: The Louvre, The Orsay Museum, The Army Museum ( Les Invalides - where Napoleon's tomb is) and Versailles just to name a few. Normandy is definitely worth the trip. Was impressed!
"Paris is always a good idea!" as Audrey Hepburn once said. Paris is a great city with so much to do and see!
The apartment was adorable! Lionel met us and showed us around. The area had a lot of young people because of the college but it didn't bother us. We were glad to be near shops, restaurants and a market. It was a hot week in Paris, which I think was unusual. It would have been nice to have a fan as we are used to aircondiitioning. We enjoyed the garden out back and used the table and chairs there. It was our first time in Paris and it seemed very safe so we left the door open and had a view of the green space. If you like a hard mattress you will be fine but I know everyone has their preference. All in all it was a great place to stay!
The property was in a perfect location for local restaurants and bars and was really handy for the Batobus and Metro. It was a hot week in Paris but the apartment remained cool.
I would definitely recommend the property and the area and would happily return.
We stayed for two weeks for our fifth anniversary. They apartment is cozy and located in one of the best areas of Paris. My wife and I were very comfortable staying here (though we had to continually watch our heads going downstairs and out of the bathroom).
There is so much to do in the neighborhood! We loved getting a pichet of wine and charcuterie at La Montagne, and the live music at Bar de Fer is great. The area is wonderfully lively at night, but you won't be disturbed as the sound doesn't carry to the bedroom.
The apartment is only two blocks away from Place Monge métro station, so you can buy a Paris Visite pass and explore the city. Place Monge also has a market on Wednesdays, Friday's, and Saturdays, so you can find some great food to cook in the kitchen!
I am a fairly big Hemingway fan, and this apartment is only a few blocks away from his first apartment on Rue Cardinal Lemoine.
My wife and I stayed here for one week in April 2015. This apartment has everything you could ask for. We loved the sitting area in the garden, and the location was ideal. The kitchen was fully equipped, the bathroom as well, the living space was very comfortable, and the basement bedroom was large and quiet. Also, the proprietor is friendly and accommodating. We couldn't have asked for more.
We loved our stay here. It is convenient to everything and a delightful neighborhood just off of Mouffetard and Pot au Fer with it's many cafe's and restaurants. Grocery shopping is a few blocks away. We were worried about noise, as this is a lively place, but the bedroom downstairs was absolutely quiet. It's wonderful to be on the ground floor, but have quiet as well. The apartment has everything you need for a week long stay - including a washing machine and fully equipped kitchen. We rode our bicycles all over Paris and found this location perfect for getting around. I would love to stay here again and highly recommend it!
