It is ideally located, 200 m from the market of rue Moufetard. Not far from the Pantheon, La Sorbone, the Jardin des Plantes... It is carefully decorated completely renovated, very bright with view of a large avenue but very well sound proofed. Large choice of restaurant in the area. Subway, taxi station, many buses, and Velib 100 m away.
We have always lived in the 5th Arrondissement. We love art, design, and travelling. We divide our time between the management of an Art and Creation centre and a medical research technology business.
Anne Bousquet-Dreyfus purchased this apartment in 1990
It is a family apartment that we have recently renovated and where, in a few years, our second daughter will live in.
Very sunny and very well located in an area which has kept its authenticity. Very Parisian atmosphere. The building was built at the end of the 19th century.
My husband and I stayed for two weeks with our two daughters aged 9 and 11. The apartment was exactly as advertised. It was clean and well-maintained. In particular it was wonderful on that first night to have scrupulously clean bed sheets and towels - very comforting when you are in a new city for the first time!
The customer service was excellent. Anne was always promptly responsive to emails, and Carmen was very helpful on our arrival.
I would definitely recommend the property. It was warm, welcoming and homely. Some minor aspects were that many of the other residents in the building seemed to be students and there were a couple of loud all-night parties when we were there - which is why I haven't given it a 5 star rating. But the majority of nights it was quiet and comfortable, and we always felt perfectly safe and at ease.
We loved the convenience of the lift after days spent walking around Paris. We loved the proximity to the metro, the supermarket and rue Mouffetard. We loved visiting the boulangerie everyday for our daily pastries. In short, it gave us the comfort, freedom and flexibility to explore Paris at leisure and begin to feel like real residents in our short stay.
Anne was very helpful in booking the apartment. Carmen met us at the apartment without difficulties and gave us great information about the neighborhood and exploring Paris. The location is conveniently located to grocery stores, outdoor markets (don't miss Rue de Mouftard during the day and at night!) and transportation (Metro, bus, taxis, and bikes from the city bike program Velib). Short walks will get you to hard being
Our family of 4 stayed in the apartment last week and absolutely loved it. The location couldn't be better -a metro station, a pharmacy, a supermarket, and a wonderful variety of restaurants and cafes are all within a block radius from the building. The street and the building are quintessential Parisian.
The apartment, although tiny, is very well maintained and has everything one can possibly need. It's very comfortable and super clean. Our two teenagers loved having two separate beds in a well proportioned bedroom. The master bedroom was quite spacious as well. The living room and the kitchen are small but the bedrooms are comfortable with ample closet space in each.
Carmen, the owners friend who was there to welcome us is a very friendly lady, with lots of information to share and advice about Paris. Her English is adequate but she is also a native speaker of Spanish. Our daughter got a chance to practice her Spanish and served as a translator between us -it was great!
If I had one area that could be improved is for Anne (the owner) to be more responsive. She doesn't seem to check her emails very often so we had to email her several times and wait for 2-4 days for a reply. Luckily there's Carmen!
We had a great stay!! Anne was wonderful in keeping contact to check in regarding dates and needs, and doing it all in English...much appreciated. We were late in reaching the property due to a late flight and this was accomadated. The neighborhood is easy to navigate, with Metro, restaurants/cafes, grocery stores, etc.. We wanted for nothing. The apartment was adequate for our family of four, 2 adults and 2 teenagers. Our teens both enjoyed having their own bed in a shared room. The rooms also had great closet space. Kitchen too was adequate and we wanted for little other than a cutting board when preparing meals. Shower/vanity room was nice. One thing to note the water closet is TINY. My 6'2"husband was challenged for space, but this was a small issue overall. Highly recommend this as a vacation spot if you are looking for a place that allows you to live like a local, providing ease of travel on the Metro and walking ability to see the sights of this stunning city, with a comfortable place to return to relax and enjoy your family. Thanks Anne for a great stay!
Very comfortable beds! Very well equipped with plenty of kitchen crockery etc. We loved the location. The nearby street called Mouffetard was fascinating....every kind of little shop and restaurant spilling out into the street...lots of people walking and shopping and even a few wandering musicians.
My mom, my daughter and I had a lovely time staying in the apartment over our Spring Break in March. The apartment was very clean and bright as well as comfortable and relatively quite for being on such a busy street. We loved having separate rooms to spread out in and also having a room to relax and enjoy a delicious pain-au-chocolate for breakfast from the boulangerie down the street each morning. The metro was very close (exit St. Marcel for easiest access to the apartment), as well as good restaurants and shops. It took us a couple of days to find Rue Mouffetard, but we loved being on that street and ate at several good restaurants that gave us the true Paris dining experience we were looking for (Au Petit Bistrot and Saveurs de Savoie).
The only things holding me back from a full 5 star rating is that I wished we could have paid off the balance of our rental fees in advance. My mother and I didn't like having to carry $800+ in cash around with us prior to our arrival in Paris (it was our second stop and we can't withdraw that much money in one day from our banks). The other small issue was hot water - after taking a very cold shower the first morning, we had to figure out how to manage the small hot water heater with 3 of us each day.
Other than that, we loved our time in Paris and at the apartment. It was 100% better than staying in a hotel (which I have also done)! Anne and her friend were most helpful through the booking and arrival/departure. I would recommend this apartment to friends without hesitation.
Many brasseries, cafés and restaurants (French and International cuisine) close by. We will provide you with a list of well-known restaurants.
