Perfect London Vacation!

  • 5 of 5

An outstanding stay! We had a smooth booking with Bryan, and were delighted to find our flat for several days in what ended up being one of our favorite parts of London. The flat is well maintained, and our family of four enjoyed the two bedroom/two bathroom spacious layout. Greta, who met us, was friendly and helpful.

The neighborhood is fantastic, an up-and-coming area of London it seems, with wonderful restaurants along the water (Brown's was our favorite), and hidden coffee shops, a gourmet italian grocery, and other little finds just beyond what we called the "secret passage" a block away. We enjoyed walking around the neighborhood, and frequently took the underground a short walk away (Jubilee line), or walked to many parts of London. The Shad Thames is wonderful.

We felt safe in the apartment complex, and it was very quiet in this neighborhood for sleeping. The view is just as it is in the photo: stunning, we loved to watch the boats go by. We also liked finding the flat from our own boat ride which gave us a sense of the great location of this flat.

In short, we would most definitely stay here again should we be so fortunate to return to London.

Property is very well located and very comfortable. Relaxed most nights of our stay on the balcony with views of Tower bridge to the West and Canary Wharf to the East. Easy walk to Bermondsey tube station. Owner Bryan is very responsive and professional.

Awesome views of Tower Bridge and London

  • 5 of 5

This place was just awesome! We wished we could have stayed longer. Close to the underground, restaurants, grocery store and of course Tower bridge and Tower of London. If, no, when we come back will definitely tried to stay here again! The pictures are exactly as you see them. Place was clean and Greta was very helpful in showing us how to get in and out of the place. To get there I would use the Bermondsey underground station, nice easy walk to the place. The evenings were great looking at the night skyline of London from the balcony.

The City Comes to You

Lovely, spacious apartment, well appointed with the necessities. Easy walk to Tube, buses and most core tourist destinations. Then, at the end of a busy day: come home, put your feet up, and watch the river and all its activity flow by. This apartment gives you a feel for "real London." I love the area, I try to stay in this neighborhood whenever I come to London. The owner was very responsive in all our transactions. We were met at the apartment by the local representative of the owner who was gracious about waiting for us (pro-tip: try not to transit London during rush hour) and then walking us through all the buttons and dials.

Fantastic! Highly Recommend this Flat.

Spent week at this flat in July 2015.

View from balcony was fantastic. It was a great place to start the day with a cup of coffee (or tea) and to relax and reflect at the end of the day with a drink. Could have spent hours watching the tides and activity on the Thames River if there wasn't so much else to see in the city.

This was a perfect flat for our family of four for the week. Great place to call our home away from home after long days of sightseeing. Plenty of room to stretch and relax. Wifi and television worked great. The flat was modern and clean.

We felt safe and secure. The security staff members in the lobby were always friendly and accomodating. Neighborhood was quiet.

Lots of good restaurants and food markets nearby. Short walk to Tower Bridge and Underground stations.

Communications with owner were clear and good throughout. Owner forwarded a detailed informational packet prior to our trip. This was very helpful and comforting.

This was worth every penny to us. I would highly recommend this property.

Would Never Recommend

Unfortunately we paid IN FULL one month before arriving in London to stay in this apartment for 4 nights and never got to stay there. The owner rented it out to someone else the day before we arrived. Even though we had already paid for it, we were left out on the street and they got to stay. The owner did put us in one of his other apartments nearby (with no view and lower quality interior) - but we could only stay there 2 nights because it was rented out the other two nights. After spending/wasting an entire morning of trying to find another place to stay (when most places are booked), the owner found us another apartment to stay our final 2 nights. Overall, an entire day of our 4 day visit to London was taken up finding an apartment, negotiating with the owner and moving our luggage (5 people) to a new location and paying for several taxis to get us moved. As a result we had to cancel an entire day of sightseeing locations.

Owner's Response: An error on my part led to the situation of a double booking of this apartment. It was an error that I only became aware of when the guests telephoned half an hour before their arrival. The guests were never 'left out on the street' but were immediately re-directed to arrive at another apartment that I have nearby, 500m away, and which was available for their first two nights. It is true that the guests may have wasted precious holiday time trying to seek an alternative apartment. At the outset, however, I had offered to find a solution for their last 2 nights but they declined that offer, preferring to make the search themselves. This proved impossible and time consuming for them and I then subsequently found them accommodation for the final two nights. The guests refer to the additional expense of several taxi rides, for a distance of about a mile. What they do not mention is that 1) ALL their monies were returned to them, 2) that they were not charged for the first two nights in my alternative apartment and 3) that the cost of the final two nights accommodation was 50% more expensive than that which they had originally booked with me, and that I paid the difference. This was not 'negotiated', I pro-actively offered these solutions. In an unfortunate situation, I did as much as I could to assist the guests and try and find a reasonable solution.
