Overview

About the property

2 Bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, WiFi, sleeps 6 in 'The Cinque Terre.'

Casa Bella Vista is a typical Ligurian House with stunning sea views .The village of Manarola is situated within the unique landscape of the Cinque Terre National Park. The property has been renovated to a high standard to include WiFi, and accommodation is provided over four floors with the additional benefit of a roof terrace. The ground floor entrance leads to a living and dining area with fully equipped kitchen, with an additional kitchen on the 3rd floor providing access for dining on the roof terrace. Bathrooms are situated on the 1st and 2nd floor, and each include a shower, toilet and bidet. The bedroom on the 1st floor has two single beds, the bedroom on the 2nd floor has a double bed, and a double sofa-bed is available on the 3rd floor. Cars are not permitted to drive into the village, however a public carpark is available. The property is a five minute walk up a steep hill from the centre of the village, and is therefore not ideal for very young children or the infirm.

Getting to Manarola: The most convenient airports for the Cinque Terre are Pisa, Genova (Genoa), and Parma. Travel from the airport to Manarola is best by train, as vehicles are not permitted in the village however parking is available at the top of the village.

A train connection timetable is available, please ask us for the website link.

Local facilities : Manarola has several excellent restaurants and bars, two pizzerias, a gelateria, juice bar and a cash machine. As a working village, it also has two small supermarkets and a pharmacy together with a selection of shops selling locally made gifts and produce.

Out and about: The best way to discover the Cinque Terre is on foot, along the many paths through terraced vineyards and olive groves giving spectacular views of the sea. The five villages of the Cinque Terre, Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza, and Monterosso each have their own unique identity, and a wealth of history to explore.

Further afield, La Spezia is the largest town in the area, and is reached easily by a 10 minute train journey. Portofino and Portovenere are good destinations for a day out by boat direct from the small harbour in Manarola.

The unique landscape of the Cinque Terre (the five lands) was listed by UNESCO in 1998 as a World Heritage Site. The National Park now protects the landscape and encourages conservation of the dry stone walls built to cultivate vineyards on the steep terraces that slope down to the sea. The crystal clear waters of the Cinque Terre were made a Marine Protected Area in 1997 to protect the rocky seabed, the habitat of a diverse range of coral. The village of Manarola dates back to the 12th century, and the area remains famous for its white wine, pesto and anchovies. As vehicles are not permitted in Manarola, travel to and within the Cinque Terre is best by train, boat or by foot. The purchase of a Cinque Terre Card issued by the National Park enables unlimited use of the trains, buses and paths within the area. The best beaches are at Monterosso and Bonassola which are reached easily from Manarola. However, it is possible to swim off the rocks in Manarola.

Other Activities: kayaking.

My management company that are also based in Manarola, will meet and greet you and show you around the property. They can provide you with information on the local area along with arranging scenic flights, guided hikes, sailing, cookery lessons and a visit to a vineyard.

The house had everything we needed... very clean and comfortable...couldn't have asked for more. Close to everything! Highly recommend to anyone visiting Cinque Terre...Manarola was the perfect town see and home base from. Loved Vernazza as well.

Best View in Best of the 5 Villages!

  • 5 of 5

Loved this house in Manarola, we were 2 couples there as a base to see all the Cinque Terre region. Perfect for 2 couples, but you could easily fit more if you utilize couches, etc. we will be back!

Magnificent views in a unique house!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I shared the house with both sets of parents in September - a bit of a hike to get there (especially with luggage), but we were rewarded with the fantastic views and the charming nature of the house. The rooftop patio was fantastic for wine etc after days full of exploring. The only complaint was that the pullout couch/bed was broken, and so my husband hand to sleep on a slant - I'm sure they will have that fixed by the time the next guest arrives. All in all, it was a great three nights of our Italian vacation!

This place will surely be the highlight of your trip!!

  • 5 of 5

Words really can't describe how amazing Manarola and this home are.

The experience here will be etched in our family's memories forever. Our teenage kids will now have a new "favorite" vacation location. The home is simply amazing. Outstanding craftsmanship and detail to the interior remodel. An OMG!! The views, the swimming, the history!! Everywhere you look could be an image found on a postcard. The water temp was in the 70's and delightful to just swim around... or brave the rock jumping. Incredibly unique! We stayed in Vernazza years ago (before kids) and agreed this town, of the 5, was perfect for us and the teens. If you have the chance to stay here, you absolutely should! Should be a 6th star for places like this.

What an amazing house - will definitely be returning!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I had the best time in this rustic and beautiful Italian terrace house. I loved the cave feature of the downstairs living room and the authentic pizza oven in the upstairs kitchen. By far my favourite feature of the house has to be the views seen from the balcony!! The property was incredibly clean and equipt with everything needed. Loved it!!

Marginal accommodations

  • 3 of 5

I was very disappointed in how uncomfortable the beds and pillows were and the mold on the shower curtains was gross. There was not a tissue or a bar of soap in the bathrooms and we ran out of toilet paper. The management company was happy to give it to us to lug around versus dropping it off. And the hair dryer doesn't pull in anywhere.
