Wonderful apartment in a great London location

This was a lovely apartment with lots of character and personality. The rooms were spacious and furnished well. The bed was super comfortable. This was one of the few listings we found with a queen size bed! The kitchen came with all the equipment you could want. There is even a washer/dryer with laundry detergent should you want to do laundry.

The location is great - walking distance to the tube station. Very safe with lots of good restaurants nearby. In short, we found this to be ideal for our time in London. Eva was very easy to work with and the property manager was accommodating with our request for a later checkout. Highly recommend!!

Great value and lovely space!

This was our first trip to London and we were so happy with the flat. We were able to find it pretty easily (with the help of google maps). It's a great location! Quiet and close to a tube stop. Easy trip into the city to the big main sights, and we enjoyed feeling like we came "home" at night.

If you're from Canada/the US, the toilet was a little funny - took more than one attempt to flush. The DVD player also wouldn't work for us, but we really didn't care! All in all I'd definitely stay again and would recommend. Also there's a little nespresso machine if you're a coffee person :)

Lovely apartment close to subway; mobility required!

To begin, the photos represent this apartment well, except that it is possibly more compact than it appears. The bed is very comfortable. The decor is charming. A bottle of wine graciously awaited us. The location is a five minute walk to the underground, and about a half hour to the city. The area is safe. The complex is quiet. The hall outside of the apartment is not as nice as the apartment itself. As to mobility, you must ascend stairs and the bathtub is elevated requiring a precarious exit. If this is not a problem for you however, we highly recommend this flat!

Nice location 5min walk to Putney Tube Station, rotate key clockwise completely until click,top lock

After 10 hour flight and 1hr drive from airport, we were tired and needed to rest. Arriving at the flat we had to search for the keys in nearby shrubbery. Having found the keys, we could not figure out which key opened which lock on the flat door. Tried literally over 100 attempts. Called number given for help. We're told there's a "knack to it" and to keep trying. After my wife and grown children tried several times, we called again. This time he reluctantly drove over from 15mins away. Turns out key needs to rotate clockwise on top lock until there's a click and door swings open. So one hour after arriving, we were in. Grown kids not happy with using couches in living room, TV didn't work at all, but overall an average stay at an average apartment with lots of nice chotshkes :)

Owner's Response: Sorry for your inconvenience, I cannot be there to meet you , in more than 70 times I be there, I understand 10 hours flight is too much . No one saud in last 6 ywars anything about difficult to open the door. I went there and opened the door for him in 2 seconds. Infact the door lock pr but it . I cannot keep everyone happy all the time. It is difficult as people arrive at all times and every day. I try to find solutions to made happy all guest. It is true TV don't works correct during your stay, we dont know untik you said, in the next 24 hours after you, we bought new one smart tv lg 43. I want to apologise for that. Warm regards

Perfect for our stay in London

The apartment was perfect for our days inLondon with our 15 year old granddaughter. We had enough room for the 3 of us, the appliances and kitchen supplies were adequate, and the decorations were adorable. The apartment was clean, it was easy to catch the bus and we enjoyed several restaurants that were within a block or two.

I definitely would recommend this property.

Not a bad apartment once we settled in, absentee owner/manager, however

They say when you're selling a house that the two areas you should be most concerned with are the kitchen and the bathrooms. In the case of this property, any real estate agent worth his or her salt would have surely addressed those issues before listing this apartment. The visit started on a bad note when one of the owners/managers (we received communications from two people), the one who provided the most communication, provided an address that was incorrect. We asked three or four passersby if they knew where the address was once the Uber driver had dropped us off and left. None of them could make heads or tails of it. Finally, after some walking around while dragging our suitcases in the rain, we found it. Inside there was a maid who spoke no English whatsoever. We got the keys and left for an hour since she wasn't done. When we returned, we found that the fridge smelled strongly of spoiled milk. The plastic shower curtain was covered in mold. We were also very concerned about the toilet because it didn't seem to want to offer much of a flush. Only after cranking on it up and down about six times did it produce a full flush. Not once during the five day visit did we receive any communication or visit from the owner. Every other VRBO we have used has had someone at least give us a tour and instructions.

In the end, the apartment wasn't bad once we figured out everything (and if you don't mind walking up three sets of stairs with no lift). It's about 30 minutes by Tube to the main downtown tourist sites, and access to the Tube is less than a 10 minute walk from the apartment. The area seems well populated by families, and was otherwise quiet and peaceful.

With a little better communication/introduction and a maid who is a little more detailed, this would have earned a four star. But they clearly are not proactive owners, and that reduces the experience for this type of rental. I would definitely not recommend it solely because of that.

Owner's Response: We are sorry to hear how these guests experienced the apartment. I manage the property. I was in touch with the guests before they arrived and emailed them clear instructions how to reach the apartment and that someone would be waiting for them. The address they were given was correct and I can prove it. They also had my phone number and email if they needed to contact me. I did not hear for them once. I do not contact guests while they stay at the apartment as I do not wish to trouble them and prefer to let them enjoy their time.  We have over 100 set off guests who stay at our apartment every year. We have not received any complaints about our kitten or bathroom in the past. Occasionally signs do go wrong and something does not work. We act quickly to put it right I did not receive any message that the loo was not flushing otherwise I would have sent someone  in.  As Mark Twain said 'you can lease some of the people some of the time but you can't please all the people all of the time.' We do our bet and believe we offer good value for money and a lovely place to stay. 99% of our guests enjoy their stay. I'm sorry these ones didn't some of the time.
