This vacation home is on a sand dune directly on Lake Shore Dr, across the street from the beach access path to Lake Michigan. Wake up to views of Lake Michigan. Step out onto the 2nd floor deck off the master bedroom and have a cup of coffee as you gear up for a great day at the beach!
There is plenty of parking available in front of the house on Lake Shore Dr. From the parking area, you will climb the stairs to this 5 bedroom beach home with excellent views!
The house is decorated and furnished to give you a great home away from home!
The living room, directly across from the kitchen, invites you to gather and be amongst the ones you love to be with. There is 1 bedroom and 1/2 bath downstairs, and 4 bedrooms and 1 full bath upstairs. There are also 2 additional showers and a bathroom in the basement where you can rinse off as you come home from a day at the beach. The bedroom layouts are as follows:
1 queen bed
1 king bed
1 queen bed
1 twin over full bunk bed
1 twin bed
1 queen bed
There is also a small room in the basement with a full bed that can be used as a 6th bedroom. The room has a small window and does not have a closet.
There is a deck off the family room at the front of the house and a 2nd floor rooftop deck, both overlooking Lake Michigan. There is a fire pit with a gravel surrounding in the rear of the home. The home is equipped with Wifi, HBO, Showtime, Netflix, all of the ESPN channels, and local channels so you can stay connected as much or as little as you want. The home has central A/C and a Furnace. There is a keurig coffee maker in addition to a regular pot coffee maker.
Perfect for Triathletes, Cyclists and Marathoners - The Lake offers un-rivaled facilities for swimming, great beaches. Hundreds of miles of cycling bike friendly roads and running by the Beach... nothing better in the Midwest.. And some excellent dining nearby!
This home was exactly what my group was looking for in a spacious, lakeside home in Michigan City for an extended weekend trip. The home comfortably slept our group of 14 adults, and we especially loved the huge deck and the open family room/living area with a great view of the lake and comfortable seating area. The property owner Colin was very responsive and helpful throughout our entire stay, from booking through checkout. Only downside was the home has 1 full bathroom (with shower) and one 1/2 bathroom. However, we definitely recommend this home, and we will stay here again if we plan another visit to Michigan City!
At any given time we had as many as 9 family members here and never felt crowded. Two bright sunny living room areas downstairs and huge deck overlooking the lake in front. The sunsets never disappointed. Lake breezes flowed through the house making for very comfortable sleeping. The furniture is clean, comfortable and generous.
Great table and chairs on the deck for cocktails and dinner. People watching was great fun and if you're a bird watcher, be sure to bring your binoculars. Everything worked perfectly--dishwasher, W & D, oven, AC, gas bbq, all of it. There's also a lovely deck upstairs with access from two bedrooms. Beach is nothing short of spectacular. Even the neighbors were a pleasure! In the past, we've rented in the Lakeside Michigan area but much prefer the proximity here to shopping and community concerts, etc in the park nearby. We're definitely coming back!
We had a great time here with our family! We had plenty of space and loved going to the beach. We enjoyed watching the sunsets from the deck each evening. It is a beautiful house and we'd come back again!
We enjoyed the facility with the large front deck where we could all sit and enjoy the view. And there was a large table there too where we could eat at and with the one in side it was sufficient for 16 people.
The gas tank was not full but it was no problem filling it and sending the owner the bill.
Kitchen supplies were good, could have used a large mixing bowl but we made it ok.
Myself and 6 friends stayed at this Lake Shore Drive home and had a wonderful time. We each had our own rooms/beds--plenty of space for all. Everything functioned perfectly: showers, appliances, washer/dryer. We all appreciated the coffee maker in the kitchen, as well. As we visited in late October, most of our time was spent inside or around the fire pit in the backyard. We did cook a few dinners using the grill, which worked great. Great spot!
We had a small family reunion and the Lake Shore Drive home was perfect for us! We had 5 adults and 4 small children. The house was so large and well designed that we never felt cramped or crowded. We only used 4 of the 6 bedrooms and the use of the lower level showers was great for washing off after a day on the beach.
Our stay consisted of 3 days (2 nights) and the weather was perfect! Even though it was late October, the kids went in the lake and had a blast playing in the sand. We had most of our meals out on the deck and had fires both nights in the fire pit. The main floor deck is so large that we were able to block both exits on the deck so that our 2 small dogs and 1 year old grandson could play safely on the deck while we enjoyed the lake views and enjoyed conversations.
