Both of Conrad's homes were well maintained and had all the amenities advertised and more. The ladies at Kantara Ku provided great food and were extremely friendly. On the island, Shane had us all hooked up with bikes, canoes, a golf cart, and great recommendations for activities. Casa Nirvana was a beautiful place, extremely clean, and perfectly located for privacy and near the beautiful Secret Beach. I have already recommended this particular property owner to several interested friends, and our family is strongly considering a return visit next year. Conrad really set us up for what turned out to be our best family vacation ever.
When my mother first asked me to meet her in Belize for a “girls” vacation, flying all the way from Michigan alone, I was filled with anxiety. Landing in a foreign country, staying in a jungle, no Wi-Fi! All the classic traveling abroad worries flooded my head…
When we finalized the vacation details, I couldn’t believe how secure I suddenly felt; Conrad is nothing short of amazing! He took the time to ask us about which excursions and sights we were interested in, created and itinerary, made sure all of our traveling was taken care of by his driver (worth the expense to travel safely and conformably,) and even gave us a idea of what to pack. He even arranged for his driver to wait for both our arrivals at the airport, making our travel worry free. He even came prepared with cold water!
The drive through the jungle to the Kantara Ku property was something ill never forget. His driver was extremely informative and made sure to answer all of our questions about Belize.
The landscape is absolutely gorgeous- and only gets better around the grounds. There is a (very clean) pool, various animals (I fell in LOVE with his kinkajou,) clean and comfortable rooms, Wi-Fi available, various cabanas for lounging, and a beautiful lookout you can take a short hike to. His chef Elsie- not only cooks fresh Belizean cuisine to die for, she is super sweet and accommodating (anything extra you crave can likely be found at a nearby market.) We wished we could take her home! At the end of the evening we enjoyed cocktails under the stars, opened up all the windows, and slept like babies to the jungle sounds (super cool.) I’d should add that bugs weren’t even an issue that time of year- something we worried about.
Outside of the property we chose to go zip lining, cave tubing, and spent our last day on the mainland doing the famous Mayan ATM cave tour. The zip lining was probably the most fun and adventurous thing I’ve ever done. Cave tubing is super relaxing and scenic, and they even have a tiki bar if you need a refreshment. We saved the best for last, the ATM cave tour. You MUST do this. To sum it all up our Belize jungle adventure was perfection. Conrad’s property is beyond beautiful and accommodating, the excursions are unforgettable, and most importantly, the staff and stay was more than I could ever ask for. I would definitely recommend Kantara Ku to anyone and everyone planning to stay in Belize. You won’t want to leave!
Staying at Kantara Ku was much more than I could have imagined! The grounds were lush and beautiful! The pool was gorgeous and inviting, I only wish we had stayed longer to really take advantage of it! We slept with our windows open and although it was hot outside, we slept with fans on and the sounds from the jungle lulled us to sleep! Elsie, our chef, made us home made Belizean food. The food was amazing and Elsie was as sweet as anything! Loved her! Conrad, the owner, had everything arranged for us, from the transportation from the airport to the excursions we chose. We went zip lining, cave tubing, and did the ATM cave tour. Everything we did was memorable, exciting, and just an overall great time! Everyone we encountered was gracious and made our adventure fun! We hiked up to Gunnar's Ridge where there is a large observation deck to relax. The view from Gunnar's Ridge is breathtaking! If you have time to spend, I recommend at least 4 days so that you can really enjoy the property and the many excursions that will truly make for an adventure of a lifetime! Can't wait to go back and I know where I will be staying!
My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed staying at Kantara Ku because of the hospitality, comfort, breath taking views, food, and adventures! Conrad, the owner, arranged all the transportation with Charles. Charles not only was very dependable but very knowledgeable sharing detailed information for each tour (zip lining, Mayan ruins, horseback riding, cave tubing). I loved taking morning walks up the hiking path behind Kantara Ku and up to Gunner's Ridge for AMAZING and BREATH TAKING views! The property is gorgeous with beautiful flowers, banana trees, papaya trees, and so much more! The pool was such a treat to relax in after a day of tours! Conrad and his staff are so friendly and helpful making sure all of our needs were taken care of and then some! I am DEFINITELY coming back to enjoy Kantara Ku and book a stay at the island home Nirvana on Ambergris!!
My group had a fantastic experience here. It started by Conrad (the owner of this property as well as another in San Pedro) arranging to have Charlie pick us up from the airport. Charlie took very good care of us. Benita, the chef, was amazing! Our meals were delicious (we did breakfast and dinner both days we stayed). Juan, the groundskeeper, also was very kind- he brought coconuts with the tops cut off for us to enjoy by the fire (he also hunted down tons of firewood for us so we could enjoy the pit at night after a dip in the pool).
The property itself is beautiful. Very much a jungle lodge retreat feel. It is essentially in the middle of nowhere (about 20 min drive to Belmopan) but this didn't bother our group one bit. Charlie arranged everything for ziplining/cave tubing one day for us so if we wanted to leave for the day it wasn't difficult to do so. There is a fantastic lookout area about a 5-10 minute hike (not difficult, but it does get steep for a little bit) to watch the sunrise/sunset or just to look over the entire property and beyond.
My group stayed in the area just off the main residence that had 3 rooms. The inside wasn't anything fancy, but we were all comfortable and slept well. (Note: there is only 1 bathroom in a place that can sleep 6 so plan accordingly!)
We loved our time at Kantara Ku and wish we could've stayed longer. Thanks to Conrad, Charlie, Benita, and Juan for being so kind and generous during our stay!
My group stayed two nights at Kantara Ku and absolutely loved it. The grounds are gorgeous and you can do a short hike up to a lookout for sunset viewing. There are lots of great lounging spots with hammocks and a nice pool. Breakfast is included and dinner is reasonably priced ($15 US, I think). Benita is a fantastic cook and is so nice! Juan is the groundskeeper and took great care of us, even fetching firewood and getting coconuts from the trees for us to enjoy. We had tours scheduled both days we were there, but I would have loved to lounge and explore the property if we'd had more time. Very cool lodging experience! It's really close to everything such as cave tubing, zip lining, ATM, etc., so it's a great place for relaxing or as a jumping point for excursions.
This was the best place I have ever stayed. The staff was amazing and went out of there way to make our stay unforgettable. The setting is amazing and I would highly recommend it.
