Description

Photos and Description of this 5 bedroom holiday home in Eureka - Sophie Lake Vacation Home

5 bedroom, 4 full bathroom, walkout, lake home

The home was built new in 2014, it was built with family and friends in mind. The home has 4 bedrooms downstairs, 2 full bathrooms and a large family room. From this level you can also access the hot tub area and the back yard and patios. The master suite is located upstairs with a queen bed and has a full ensuite and access to the large upper deck. There is also a office on the main floor that can be used as an additional bedroom with a queen bed, as well as another full bathroom. (Total of 9 beds, 3 queens, 2 doubles & 4 twins).

The kitchen, dining and living room are set up for entertaining with a great open concept and a free flow feel to the outdoor covered living space. The kitchen is set up with everything you will need to entertaining large groups. Outside you will find a large grass yard, fire pit, covered patios and a 8 person hot tub.

Sophie Lake

The home is located on Sophie Lake, built up a little ways from the lake as to take in all the views that the Valley has to offer. Just down the hill you will find a sand beach and a 40' dock. The lake has everything to offer from fishing, water skiing, wake boarding and paddle boarding. Your boat can be launched just across the lake at the state boat launch and be moored for your entire stay on the dock or buoy just below the house.

Lake Koocanusa:

For those of you that want to explore, Lake Koocanusa boat launch is just 2 miles up the road at Swisher Landing. The lake has great sand beaches and lots of shoreline to explore. If you venture South you will find some rock out crops just before the bridge on the east side of the lake, the water is very deep and the cliffs are great for jumping off.

The lake is full of Kokanee and Rainbow trout.

Golf:

The Wilderness Club is approximately 4 miles from our home and is boasted as the best golf course in Montana. Complete with a fully licences clubhouse.

Closer to Eureka Indian Springs offers a challenging 18 hole golf course with great landscapes and views to accompany your round of golf. They also have a fully licences clubhouse.

Biking:

The valley offers all kinds of recreational activities such as great paved roads for biking motorized or pedal. The surrounding mountains encompass thousands of acres of state forestry land that is just waiting to be explored.

For mountain bikers Fernie and Whitefish mountains are only an hour away but you don't need to drive that far, Eureka sits on the Pacific North West National Scenic Trail, giving it access to some great local riding.

Hiking:

There are many great day hikes that will take you to high alpine fire lookouts, or valley hikes where you can cool off under a beautiful waterfall or small pocket lake. A stop at the local Ranger Station in Eureka will more than inform you of where to go and provide any additional information you require.

Skiing:

There are three downhill ski resorts within an hour of the house. Fernie Alpine Resort is across the border in British Columbia, Whitefish Mountain is a 50 minute drive south, and Turner Mountain is located down Lake Koocanusa by Libby. For those of you more adventurous types Great Northern Powder Guides cat skiing is located about 20 minutes South of Eureka towards Whitefish.

Snowmobile :

The Ten Lakes area has a great groomed snowmobile network that riders of any level can enjoy, and if you are more adventuress there is no shortage of off trail deep powder riding. The local Ranger station can provide you with trail maps. The Ten Lakes Snowmobile Club maintains the area and requires you to purchase a trail pass from them.

Awesome!!

If you are looking for a top notch, beautiful, private home on a lake, look no further. My husband and I spent a week at this beautiful location and it did not disappoint us in any way. The house is wonderfully decorated and everything was in working order. It is large enough to accommodate your entire extended family comfortably, if need be. However, it is equally comfortable for just two people. There are neighbors behind the house, but we hardly noticed because of the way this house sits in front of them, closer to the lake. The owners were quickly responsive to our initial inquiry, and equally responsive through out the entire rental process. It is obvious that this is a much loved vacation " cabin" for them as well. All in all, we had a great experience and wonderful stay.

Our family loved everything about our stay at Sophie Lake. This vacation home is fabulous and beautiful and accommodated our large group of 18 amazingly well! The kitchen and cooking facilities were excellent, beds comfortable, living room and grounds are beautiful, and enough full bathrooms to accommodate everyone. And what a view of the lake! The lake itself was relatively quiet, glass water and a great private dock complete with a number of beach and water toys to enjoy in addition to our own boat! The water is clear and not too cold. The walk up and down a relatively steep hill from cabin to lake became a source of good exercise each day. We hope to make this an annual family week of sun, fun and luxury and highly recommend it without question for any family wanting a great vacation. THE BEST VACATION HOME WE HAVE FOUND!

Wow!

Looking out the windows and standing on the back deck you feel like you are in a postcard!

The "cabin" is gorgeous! Decorated fabulously! So much space for our family. And it was safe with great stairs and decks! Perfect in every way from the built in stereo with preloaded music to the nice bedding and lush blankets and towels. Even throws to pull over your shoulders as the air cools outside.

Everything in perfect working order and NEW!

Super clean and even outside furniture clean and the deck bug (spider)free! Lovely plantings and well maintained yard. Great hot tub and nice BBQ.

Inside real wood fire place but we didn't use it. On that note... Great working AC!

Lots of towels and pretty laundry room.

It's a harsh hike down and back to the water is the only negative. Maybe stairs would help?? But the private beach is worth it!

Super quiet lovely getaway in cute Eureka.

Great organic grocery store or a big grocery only ten min away.

Sounds silly but I've rented other places before and having No shortage of useful amenities such as toilet paper, paper towel, and hand soap is a grateful touch.

What an amazing place!

I highly recommend this house.

Incredible private location with high end accomodation

  • 5 of 5

Sophie lake is a small but beautiful lake with a mountain backdrop. Easily accessible from Eureka, and very private. The house has all the amenities you may need. The pictures don't do this property justice. When you arrive you will understand. It is a short walk down to the water, but the view from the house on the hillside is worth the effort. One of the best vacation rentals we have found.
