About sheldon schiebe
We are Sheldon and Mary, the proud owners of Elbow Lake Lodge on beautiful Big Elbow Lake. Since 2007 we have owned and managed Knotty Pines Resort, a 11 cabin resort with a campground on Boulder Lake in the Park Rapids area (approx. 45 miles from the Lodge). We hope that families will come and enjoy Elbow Lake Lodge as much as they have our resort. We would like to share this beautiful Lodge, and look forward to meeting new guests and making new friends. As the parents of five children and thirteen grand children, we can think of no better place to make those special family memories than at the lake.

Why sheldon schiebe chose Eagle View
This property holds special memories for Sheldon as he started vacationing on Big Elbow with his family in the late 50's. Sheldon also has three cousins on the lake . Elbow Lake Lodge is a log sided cabin built in 1946 and is one of the first cabins on the lake. It was used as a cabin and hunting lodge over the years and has a historic, cozy stone fireplace. The peaceful north-woods ambiance as you drive on to the property. The lake view is very beautiful from the great room, deck and from the expansive wrap around enclosed porch. The setting is very private, surrounded by 11 acres and very little development. Big Elbow Lake is a gorgeous and scenic 1100 acre lake with good fishing, crystal clear water and many sets of loons to serenade you at night. We are confident that you and your family will enjoy the peace and quiet at Elbow Lake Lodge situated on 250' of private lake shore set in the big pines.

Turn key. Ready for fishing and water fun!
The owner has thought of everything to make your stay convenient, comfortable, and fun. Water toys, fire pit, pontoon, fish cleaning station, relaxing sun room. Its on a quiet lake on a private lot. We so enjoyed our stay and sheldon is the best! Thank you so much!
Great location, great owner.
The wife and I took our 6 & 1 year old girls to the cabin for four nights. We rented the pontoon boat that is available and loved every minute of it. We even decided to stay an extra night! We caught good panfish and used the fish cleaning table at the house. The girls absolutely loved the sandy beach area. We were treated to many birds of prey fishing in front of us and the haunting calls of the loons at night. Just an overall wonderful time. The cabin is also a short drive to the Mississippi headwaters which was a nice little trip as well. Highly recommend the cabin.
Very quiet and private!
Our family of 12 (10 kids) stayed here for a week in July. The cabin was very clean and the private little beach was perfect! There were plenty of needs for everyone. we rented both boats and caught lots of fish. The deer flies were extremely aggressive, even our "deep woods off" didn't deter them. Sheldon was great to work with and we had a wonderful relaxing week.
Thank you Heather for staying with us. We are so happy you enjoyed your stay. Sheldon and Mary
Wonderful Family Cabin
This was our second year at this cabin and once again, we all loved it! It accomodates our family perfectly....those who LOVE fishing....caught lots of great fish! We bring our own deep fat fryer and enjoy fish fry, onion rings and french fries for the dinner highlight! Those who LOVE water sports....were never bored. We brought along a paddleboard, and from early sunrise to sunset.....many in our family went out to enjoy the peacefulness that this beautiful lake offers! We love the setup of this cabin....with three tables to accomodate a variety of activities....games, eating and chats!! Having a large family spread out from Montana to Florida to Illinois....this centrally located cabin is PERFECT
Thank you for the review. We are so happy that you enjoyed your stay. The quiet, private setting with the beautiful lake view does make it a perfect family retreat cabin. Thank you again for staying with us and hope to see you next year.
Everyone loved the cabin and beach. We spent each morning on the huge porch overlooking the lake. The beach and fire pit was where we hung out most of the day. The family room is a nice size and there's enough seating for everyone. I can't wait to go back next summer.
The home was spotless and the property amazing. We hope to come again next year.
We are located in the beautiful forested area with Itasca State Park and North Country Hiking trail within a short drive on scenic Highway 113. Enjoy the active wildlife in the wooded area. Great fishing on Big Elbow Lake and just a few miles from Bad Medicine Lake, known throughout Minnesota for it's lake trout.
