Overview

About the property

Quiet private free-standing cottage Sleeps 2 adults, 1-2 children

Alberta Guest Cottage is just a few houses down from Alberta Street, but far enough away to have a nice quiet secluded feel.

Alberta Arts District is home to some of the best and most popular restaurants, bars, boutiques, etc, in Portland. Pok Pok Noi, Extracto coffee, Muscadine, Grain and Gristle, and VilleVelo bake shop are less than a block away. Then starting three blocks away, we have Tin Shed, Fuel Cafe, Frock Boutique, Bamboo Sushi, Zilla Sake, Aviary, Petite Provence, Bollywood Theater, Pine State Biscuits, Cupcake Jones, Salt and Straw Ice Cream, Boxer Ramen, and so much more.

This stylish cottage was designed to be comfortable and modern, with lots of natural light and airflow. Bamboo floors are found throughout, and heated tile floor in the bathroom. A well-appointed kitchen/living combo has a cook-stove, convection oven, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator, coffee maker, beautiful recycled glass counter, along with a drop-leaf dining table and chairs and additional relaxing seating.

A sliding wall separates the downstairs bedroom from the kitchen/living room. The bathroom has Ann Sachs blue-green glass tile for a spa feel, a shower over tub, and plenty of fluffy white towels. The cottage is towards the back of an over-sized lot, and has plenty of privacy from the house.

We start you off with complimentary fresh roasted coffee from Extracto, cream and sugar, and yogurt from the local market. We've tried to think of every detail (we even have robes for you!), but are looking forward to your feedback and hearing more ways we can add hospitality. =)

Guests have access to the cottage and the big yard.

I'm available for anything you need, and am happy to help with any questions and suggestions, and also am happy to give you space.

Alberta Arts District is such a great neighborhood. It is full of yummy restaurants, art galleries, fun bars, beautiful homes, and friendly people. We are also in a nice central, close-in location, which makes it easy to explore Portland's other areas, such as the Mississippi District and North Williams Ave, NW Portland, Pearl District, Hawthorne, Downtown, etc.

We're right around the corner from the bus line which can take you to the MAX, or into downtown or anywhere along the way.

The cottage is also located right on the Portland bike path.

It's very easy to travel from the Alberta district.

About Mishka Willis

Lover of all things circus, travel, art, and a connector of people. I moved to Portland in 2011 with my daughter and it was instant love. I love everything about this town and am so thrilled to be here. We are friendly people and happy to help in any way we can. I've had a varied background, from flying trapeze, software development, hurricane relief work, horse training, to DJing, and I love to meet new people and hear what they're all about.

As a host, I love to help in any way, and hope to do anything I can to help your stay exceed your expectations!

My daughter, Chlöe, is 4, and she is friendly and kind. She loves gymnastics and dance. We have a big backyard, but when we are hosting guests, we tend to play in our front yard and porch to give you privacy. Chlöe also loves to share her toys, so if you are bringing children, we will be sure to put together a little package of fun for them. =)

Why Mishka Willis chose Portland

This is such a special corner of Portland. It's quiet and family-friendly, but very close to all the action of Alberta Street. We also have a fantastic bunch of some of Portland's finest restaurants, coffee shops, wine/bottle shop, etc, right across the street. The co-op grocery store is 2 blocks away, and there are several larger groceries within a mile away.

The bus line is a block away, and runs into downtown and beyond. We're also right on the bike boulevard for easy bike commuting around town. It's the perfect home base for all of your Portland area exploring. I feel so lucky to live here!

What makes this cottage unique

I designed the cottage to be comfortable, private, and have everything you need. I grew up in the South, and hospitality is important to me. I work hard to make sure you are happy and I take great pride and joy in helping make your stay perfect.

Bright, cheery, delightful.

Couldn't have asked for anything better. Everything we needed was there, including coffee and tea. Good bed, pillows and she even provides hotel style bathrobes! The location is super, easy walking to fun shops and great food.

Mishka is a terrific host and very accommodating. Highly recommend this sweet place. Very private and yet close to so many places. Don't miss Salt and Straw when in Portland, best ice cream ever.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Thank you Mishka!

Really great location!

  • 5 of 5

Bright, and yet cozy, accommodations. Perfect for 2, and flexible in case you have more. It's right down the street from the main section of Alberta, but yet it is really quiet and peaceful. As is common in Portland, it is street parking only, but we did not find that to be a problem.

Great spot near Alberta Arts District

  • 5 of 5

I rented this cottage for my niece and nephew when they came to visit. It was just the right size and in a great spot. Jest a few blocks from all the activity on Alberta and near a couple of places on Prescott, yet quiet in the evenings. Mishka was a great host. Thank you!
