Beautiful 2bed/3bath home on the historic Suwannee river, located on 2 secluded acres of natural river front. Enjoy total privacy with no homes in sight. Just a quick three minute ride to the boat ramp, and your boat can be kept in front of the home at the dock. Relax on the 1000sqft partially covered wooden deck built over the river. Enjoy a cool swim or fish from the floating dock. Build a fire in the fire pit or grill by the river bank. Sit and watch the moon glisten on the river. Enjoy the deer turkey or wild bird life, a great place for nature lovers. The house is just as beautiful and relaxing on the inside. Newly remodeled with fully stocked granite kitchen, 2 full baths with tubs, natural hard wood floor in main room and carpeted bedrooms. A third bathroom with shower conveniently located on the ground level. Enjoy your morning coffee on the private deck off the master bedroom or the main screed porch. We are located 50 miles west of Gainesville and 3 Miles down river from Fanning Springs.
We have used this property for a few years as a family getaway location and would love to share it with you.
No homes in sight. Across the river is part of the Lower Suwannee Wildlife Refuge. From this home you have the river views up and down to yourself.
Whether you're looking for peace and tranquility, fishing or a quiet romantic getaway this is it. Truly private and peaceful. If you enjoy nature and being outside this is a perfect place. The views are spectacular from sunrise to sundown. This trip for us was one of romance but I can see us going back with the family and bringing the kayaks and fishing poles. This location offers plenty of outdoor space to enjoy nature. Great for summer fun or a perfect place to sit around a fire in the cooler months. Dan was very easy to get in touch with and made it very easy to enjoy our stay. We will without a doubt be returning.
If you're looking for peace and quiet, this is your answer! Off the beaten path, you'll find this perfect home. I say this because I don't want the eerie entrance to fool you. Once you travel down that stone driveway, you'll find this awesome hideaway. It truly is away from everything, so don't count on being bothered by everyday life. Dan was extremely accommodating and everything was as pictured. Our group stayed at the hideaway to get a break and to visit the nearby springs. We had the luxury of cooking our own breakfast, lunch and dinner. We fished from the wooden porch deck,!and loved the incredible view! This is your answer for a perfect peaceful getaway, just you and the surrounding nature, (with everything in driving distance!!)
We recently spent a weekend at the Hideaway. Pictures in the post are true to form. The cabin was very clean and we had everything we needed. The river views from the cabin are even prettier in person. The backyard and dock is the perfect setting for cookouts and just relaxing. We came here for some R&R and that is exactly what we got! The owners are very courteous and easy to get a hold of if you have any questions prior to your stay or during. The cabin is located within easy driving distance/boating to several local springs, which were a blast to explore! We are already trying to find another weekend we have off work to visit again!
We stayed at dan's cabin for a short week end to recharge our battery from our stressfull life , we had an amazing time , waking up in the morning looking at the swannee river , the cabin is very clean and the ad does not lie , all we were dreaming off for quick getaway , so refreshing and relaxing .
My husband and I stayed at the Hideaway for a weekend, and if you really want to get away from it all, this is definitely the place to go. It is right on the Suwannee River, and the house is even nicer than the pictures portray it to be online. The house is neatly decorated, very clean, and has fantastic views of the river. The dock area is very large and has a roof over it, and we spent a lot of time there enjoying the nice breeze blowing through, fishing, and relaxing. We even ate most of our meals there. Thanks Dan and Cheryl! We hope to stay here again soon!!
Loved this place!!
My husband and I have a hectic schedule, and this place made detaching a breeze.
The house has all you need, except a icebox, colander or blender which usually are the most important kitchen items for travelers for (pasta and margaritas). But, we managed because we don't drink margaritas.( I wanted to make my protein shakes)
It rained for 2 days, but that did not prevent us from fishing from the large covered deck. We caught lots of small bass and a large gar.
Nicely decorated. The beds are cumpfy and house has a great view of the Suwannee river from living room and rooms.
Not much of satellite TV channels, but if your ok with that no worries; My husband loves his sports and this didn't have much to choose from. Also the TV is outdated, not a great picture, and only 1 in entire house probably not for those that like to fall asleep with TV on.
Because of the few negatives I gave this house a 3 star. Simple fixes can be a 4 star.
This place was just what the boss ordered (aka. my hubby).
Definitely plan to return.
Thank you Dan for your hospitality.
