The Reece Ridge Cabin is an open, spacious, beautiful secluded home. It is tastefully decorated in a lodge decor, with comfortable furnishings. The cabin is peaceful and serene surrounded by wooded forest full of wildlife. Step into the great room, featuring large wood burning fireplace and groove vaulted ceilings and walls. Windows provides natural light and awesome views of the surrounding area. The well equipped kitchen and dining room enjoys the same views. The large, open front porch has a swing and rocking chairs where you can listen to the trees quake in the wind and enjoy a morning cup of coffee. A laundry room completes the first floor.
The largest bedroom features a king size bed off the great room. Guests will love the warmth of the wood fireplace as they sit by the fire and enjoy a peaceful Southern Illinois evening in the great room. Enjoy the great outdoors at the cabin or watch a favorite movie. There is plenty of room for everyone to sleep in a bed with accommodations for 12 people with a 16 person maximum. Two full baths are located on the main floor with one being a shower/tub combo.
Located on a quiet country road, the cabin is convenient to local attractions. After a day of adventure, you can return to your cabin, cook something on the grill and enjoy crisp evening air as you dine on the back deck. Guests can top off the day with a relaxing soak in your own private hot tub or roasting marshmallows at the outdoor fire pit.

An abundance of wildlife can be seen as the property offers a walking trail, water fall and a unique tunnel-like trail through a thick bamboo forest.
We opened our cabin in 2014. We purchased the property and it has been a labor of love since. We are new owners that love our cabin and stay at our cabin when we can because we enjoy the area! We love the space to share with our entire family and friends. We would hope that you will enjoy your experience too at our cabin. Kathy and Josh
Kathy and Josh purchased this cabin in 2013
I think the cabin turned out even better than we anticipated. Beautiful scenery, peaceful, private, well-kept up and maintained. Worked well despite having 6 couples who are all set in their ways:). Everything listed was available to us and we felt very welcome. Kathy picked up our garbage one day and she left us clear instructions and supplies regarding the use of the hot tub. One of our crew complained about the bathroom making too much noise during the night but we slept in the room directly below the bathrooms and it didn't bother us. We heard it if awake (it did NOT wake us up) and actually was quite humorous to us:). Loved the porch and the hot tub. We would love to come back! We also loved our bus service (took the bus 2 days to wineries) and our wine trips! We visited 10 of the 12 wineries (2 were only open on weekends and we were there during the week). Several also catered to our beer-drinkers:). We especially enjoyed the Owl Creek Winery atmosphere and wine. And we ate twice at Von Jacob's Winery/Brewery - the food was great! The scenery was beautiful and our second bus driver, Mike, made a point of taking us on some sight-seeing on our journey. He was a lot of fun but I don't recall the name of this service. Also, on our way to our cabin on Sunday we stopped at Buffalo Wild Wings in Carbondale to watch the Packer game and had a blast with all the Packer fans on the patio. It was a gorgeous day and the service was spectacular! And the Pack won! It was a great start to our vacation!
The cabin was perfect for our weekend! The owners were extremely helpful and very kind! The cabin had everything we needed - so much room! It was clean and tidy and decorated so well. I would absolutely recommend this cabin to anyone! We also rented a shuttle bus to take us on the wine trail and they were able to make it to our location perfectly fine and picked us up at the cabin. Overall, a wonderful experience!!
A group of 8 girls visited for a winery tour for a bachelorette party and had an amazing time. We would highly recommend this cabin!!
This spacious home met all our needs, and in style! It appears to be nearly new and well-maintained. The large basement has 4 bedrooms and 2 seating areas. (2 additional BR upstairs) The little children loved the upstairs loft with the giant pillows. The living room was comfy, and the kitchen was large enough to host several cooks at once, while the rest of us watched from one of 6 stools around the island. The outdoor spaces were likewise welcoming and comfortable. The fire circle with ample seating was a nice feature. The best parts, however, were the unique natural features of the forest: we observed deer and other wildlife, walked through the bamboo tunnel, and swam under a waterfall in the creek. The watering hole was the perfect size for our little children to splash around. It truly felt like we rented the whole forest and we loved exploring it. If you stay here, check out the Little Grand Canyon (5 miles away), the Pomona Natural Bridge (should not be missed!) and the cool town of Carbondale.
We had an amazing girls weekend at Reece Ridge Cabin! The cabin is very easy to get to, plenty of parking out front for multiple vehicles. The cabin itself is very well maintained and extremely clean. Even the hot tub was all ready to go! Every necessity we could think of was provided; we only had to bring food and drinks. There are enough bedrooms in the cabin (6 in total) that all 8 of us slept comfortably. I will keep Reece Ridge Cabin in mind for another girls weekend, or possibly even for a multi-family get away!!
